About The Corbet Arms
The Corbet Arms is nestled in the beautiful Village of Uffington. The Countryside location is Idyllic, sitting on the banks of The River Severn. However, access is easy from both Telford and Shropshire.
This historic establishment has been sympathetically refurbished to a very high standard. As we are family owned and run, you can expect an exceptional experience every visit. We have a wonderful Restaurant serving freshly prepared local produce, well-appointed accommodation, versatile function suite, large terrace and gardens, bowling green and bar.
We pride ourselves on flexibility and value for money.
Excellent food and service. Atmosphere spoilt by lack of people which is understandable in the current climate. The staff however the staff did all that could reasonably expected to enable customers to feel safe.
Food was fantastic good prices for the amount. Staff were a little less attentive than of other visits, slow to clear the table, return with pudding menus etc, not particularly busy that night. However it did not detract from another fantastic meal here.
Friendly service and good sized, quality food meals.
Lovely place, staff were all amazing and clearly run off their feet, only thing I would say is Sunday roast is served first with your meat and gravy on your main plate, then you have to wait for your vegetables and potatoes to come separate, we was a big group of 15 so as soon as the veg etc came out 5 minutes later most of us had eaten our meat or had already gone cold. Would suggest that roasts for big party’s all be served on the plate at same time to prevent waiting and food going cold. Roast itself was lovely.
As usual we had a fantastic visit. We had lovely roast pork Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed the pork was delicious with very little fat and the crackling was perfectly cooked.
service was very slow but you were busy
Great experience again.
Our Favourite haunt when we come to Shrewsbury for the day from Hampshire and take family to lunch. Always a friendly atmosphere, despite Covid-19 currently making life difficult for everyone.
The staff treated us very poorly from the moment we walked in, rude and very judgemental, looked at us as if we were something off the street. The table service was poor, We got served by the call button that was on the table. The waitress then came back over after taking our order and accused us of pressing it multiple times, which was incorrect, when explained to her that we didn’t& that it was on the other side of the table so there must have been some mistake, she then was very argumentative and accused us of lying. When ordering the food we specifically said we couldn’t have things on the food (due to allergies). After 45 minutes waiting for our food it all came out either incorrect or cold. Overall very disappointed after being told very good things about the place, will not be returning.
Had vegetable pie. Soggy pastry, lumpy gravy. Not great. Kids enjoyed their fish and chips and puddings were good. Easy to sit with another family in socially distanced way. Felt good from covid point of view but could look at all the sachets of sauce and doing something more environmentally friendly
Felt very safe and Covid secure . Food was fab and well served- excellent service
Felt safe and lovely meal
Only criticism would be bar prices £5 for a pint of peroni a bit much
Patio heaters and umbrellas at every outside table would be nice for winter. Ordering was a bit confusing. It wasn’t clear how to order. At the bar? Table service? App?
I was sceptical about the sweet potato and goats cheese soup but OMG what a triumph Both my partners and my meals were amazing added to dining on the patio made it a great date night
Food was value for money Adhered to high standards re covid Friendly and pleasant staff will definitely come back
Nice pub, friendly staff. Good social distancing so we felt safe.
The food, service and quality was excellent.
Very impressed will be returning
As a regular visitor I am never disappointed. I think the Sunday roast is exceptionally good with the consistent high standard of food served. I shall continue to visit and recommend to others! A particular mention to the staff, who, despite new ways of working, continue to serve with efficiency and politeness. I'm sure with a smile too behind the masks! Thankyou all!
We came to The Corbet Arms for my grandmothers wake. The initial contact was very thoughtful and kind and you were able to provide everything we asked. On the day the food was delicious and the staff were excellent. Thank you.
The food was delicious and the service very good but what spoilt a reunion meal after Covid lock down was being placed next to a screaming child. Why is it not possible to put families with children in a separate room or put adults only in a separate room. Parents don't seem to have control or don't want to chastise their little darlings these days. It makes it very unpleasant for older adults trying to talk.
Lovely country pub with outlook over the river. Service and food very good n a really good choice of drinks on draught.
We were placed in the conservatory, which was very noisy with other tables with children, so we asked to be moved.
We love this place, the food and service are always very good.
