About The Co-Op Kitchen & Bar
Step into The Co-Op Kitchen and get swept up with the lively energy and smiling faces. The restaurant is a wave of the comfort of the gastropubs we grew up on. Between the live music, cocktail happy hours, and hearty homecooked-style meals, it’s a familiar taste of New Zealand culinary experiences. Dine on bruschetta and catch of the day, pork belly bites and poached pear salad, or cajun lamb pizza and New York cheesecake, complete with a chill glass of wine and a kids menu to keep the whole table happy.
Lovely food and friendly staff. Enjoyed our meal
Great service. Good food
We went on Saturday night at 6:30pm and place was packed. We waited 45 minutes after being seated to be asked what drinks we wanted. It was 1 and a quarter hours before we ate. However the food was very nice so the wait was worthwhile.
Service slow to begin with and we had to ask for our table water and first drink. However staff were friendly and the food great.
Great service and food and it was awesome having a craft table and face painting for the kids.
Great mothers day
Main arrived while still eating entree, one main was wrong and then was redone for us while other main went cold. Waitress took coffee order and left with an empty tray without taking our dishes.
A lovely evening and great service even on a busy Friday night
3 of 4 meals were rather average quality. Pizza had hard dry tough base. Pork Belly was dry had little vegetable accompaniments. Lamb shank sauce was too bland tomato flavour. Food is usually of a better standard. Was a busy night but no excuse. Staff were very good however and we were well look after.
Everybody enjoyed their meals. Kids went for the build you own and was devoured at great rate! Good value for money. Two adults went for burgers and swapped out the usual chips for some very tasty salads. Great value for the money and will definitely be back in the future. Staff we're happy and very attentive
After waiting for ages for someone to take our order the garlic bread we ordered never arrived. Portion sizes were inconsistent. Service was unfriendly.
Good place to take the family, and would definitely dine there again.
My husband had the cottage pie and found a piece of gristle the size of a ping pong ball! The waitress could not have been less interested, her only comment was I don’t blame you for not eating it! We paid the bill and left- would we go back - nope!
Very enjoyable family lunch.
Booked a table in advance and the table was Infront of the resident like be band. It was very loud so conversations would have been impossible so we asked for a change to seating. Due to the busyness on the night we got an outside table in the doorway to the smokers entrance with the door frequently opening and closing. I suggest if people book and will be seated Infront of a band; you should be advised do you get to decide whether you want to accept or decline the seating. It was my wife's birthday and our seating put a damper on what should have been a pleasant night.
Great evening enjoyed by all lovely kai will visit again
Missed a meal from order of 10 , offered free drink which wasn’t taken but then didn’t charge them the meal 👏👏 Meals have improved a lot 👍
Great food. Great service. Great vibe
The young lady that waited on us (brown hair) was awesome. Kitchen staff were the same (we were at the table next to the kitchen). Much improved since our last visit.
Very good to eat at very crowded tho
Felt a little let down by my meal tonight. My wife and I ordered the same steak sirloin dish. Mine was obviously not sirloin but more of a steak. And definitely not rare. The deconstructed apple tart came out at room temperature. Not sure if it should have been cold or heated. Guys we haven't eaten at yours for a bit but this was well below par. I would not recommend anyone based on tonight Peter
The experience tonight was extremely poor. The staff didn't know how to mix the advertised cocktails properly and did not clear our table until asked 20 minutes after our meal. We weren't asked for anymore drinks .... deserts...or coffee during and after our main meal. We booked for four and are in the age group of money isn't an issue. In this case you missed out in approximately $200 in drinks and deserts. Have copied and will be pasted on trip advisor and Google reviews. I told your manager on duty and not sure with the culture divide if he understood our feedback.... as didn't apologize for the lack of service and poor food quality. Will definitely not be coming back or recommend. I would have thought after covid19 and it's ongoing influence within the hospitality industry..... that you're establishment would be stepping up their game. Obviously not.... don't take you're customers for granted.
We asked for water and it never came. When the 2 different wines were delivered the waiter was unsure which was which. We had to flag down the waiting staff rather than they came to us. We all enjoyed to food but the lamb shank was a bit dry.
