About The Conservatory
Join us for Afternoon Tea at The River Room Conservatory. A magnificent bespoke glass creation that perfectly frames the stunning setting of the cascading River Maine and lush parkland. A most splendid backdrop in which you can enjoy the decadence of a traditional Afternoon Tea.
Afternoon Tea is served daily 12.00-17.30
The scones were mediocre - you could buy equivalent quality at 4 for £1 in Sainsbury’s. There was insufficient jam & cream for 4 scones. Soup & sandwiches were very nice and we were able to change from the fish options. Cakes were tasty and a bit different so we were well pleased with those. The top-up of tea was extremely disappointing as the servers had obviously just filled the pots with hot water without replenishing the tea leaves. My second pot was very weak and tasteless as a result.
Amazing as always! The only reason this time l rated 4 stars on 3 of the categories is the following: Food & Drink - one of our tea top ups was different than the requested; none of us appreciated the Turkish delight dessert Atmosphere - there was 3 babies in the room, and one of them was a bit loud, taking away the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Service - l wrote an email in reply to my reservation requesting an extra person to be included to it and never received a reply. We also had to chase the waiter to get the bill, again to pay for it, and no one offered our coats back.
A fantastic afternoon for my mums birthday, the service was fantastic & the staff couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. It was a lovely touch to bring out the cupcake & candle for my mum, she was overjoyed. Thank you for making it special, we will definitely be back to see you soon
service very disappointing and slow.
As usual a lovely relaxing afternoon. All staff so pleasant and helpful.
Our waiter was exceptional - he made my little girl feel very important and special on her birthday .the doormen water also exceptional. Thanks hi to everyone!
Afternoon Tea in the Conservatory is just fab! Service was excellent, and I love how it has a slightly different twist to the normal. Great selection of teas as well. Setting was beautiful. Would definitely recommend.
A most enjoyable afternoon , lovely afternoon tea , will definitely treat ourselves and return again.
My daughter and I had afternoon tea in the Conservatory. The staff were warm and welcoming and seated us at the window which gave us a lovely view of the river. The decor in the Conservatory is charming and the food was delicious. We will definitely come back sometime.
Jordan was excellent guiding us through our Gin Tasting. Definitely recommend trying out during your stay.
Afternoon tea at Galgorm is the best and that's why I return. The food is first class and very well presented. The staff are lovely and nothing is any bother. I was delighted to get a window seat as requested. I am not a tea fan and enjoyed a very nice peach iced tea instead of the traditional teas on offer. I was maybe a little taken back at being charged extra for a second iced tea. Perhaps Galgorm could consider including that in the price in future. A lovely treat and I will book again.
As always and amazing afternoon tea in the river room
Went for afternoon tea as a birthday treat. Food was amazing and staff were wonderfully attentive. Roxi in particular requires a special mention as she looked after us for both breakfast and afternoon tea, a really lovely, professional girl who made us feel very special. We will most definitely be back!
The only thing that was missing in my opinion is a smoking area in the thermal spa village. I saw several people smoking in hidden corners and I think an allocated smoking area would be advantageous. Not everyone who visits a health spa is healthy and you should cater to everyones needs.
4*for food & drink because I wasn’t keen on desserts. 2* for service because our server collected our plates before we finished. Otherwise a very enjoyable experience! Thanks
Beautiful experience!! So much food, definitely worth the money.
There was a lot of sweet items on the meal and not enough savoury. Also we had the same sweets delivered to our room as part of the ‘strawberry and truffles’ package on arrival (we actually never got strawberries and truffles). Then again the same sweets with the bathing/jacuzzi experience.
Beautiful dining area and great food. However, service was absolutely terrible. Once seated it took 15 minutes for anyone to ask us what we'd like to drink and when eventually our drinks did arrive there was no milk and sugar. This had to be requested twice. Food also very slow to arrive despite us having a booking. Very disappointing - so although the food was good, I definitely wouldn't recommend as we felt forgotten about in between courses and couldn't relax.
As there was no one around when we arrived I approached 3 members of staff one of which seemed very vexed at me having done so, now when I explained that I had a reservation for afternoon tea she immediately had a change in attitude, not the kind of service that we usually receive from this establishment, the food was delicious, the service however was not
Staff excellent, very friendly. Great environment. Food beautiful
We had the afternoon tea, the food was just ok. To be honest I have had better at a fraction of the price. The staff were brilliant and nothing was to much trouble for them. They made us feel really comfortable.
This is our 4th afternoon tea in the conservatory as we have come every year as its my daughters favourite place to celebrate her birthday. Its a really beautiful place to come, the staff are excellent and the afternoon tea is superb.
Not good value for money. Staff and setting excellent, but savoury food too skimped, not enough food and too many sweets.
Afternoon tea at the conservatory is a real treat - fantastic from start to finish
Macaroons are amazing
