Excellent value and a very pleasant experience
Friendly helpful staff. Food a little cold. More vegetarian choice would be good especially for the Sunday lunch option. Fantastic location amazing views. Would try again
We had a lovely meal. All of the food was delicious and the service was great.
Lovely evening, great food
Breakfast was chaos. Nothing was set up, waitress was bringing items one at a time with 5 minute intervals. Cornflakes.... Eventually milk... Spoon later on. Cups a while later, Coffee grounds on top of filter, couldn't drink but was replaced, didn't get alpen, didn't get juice. Was told orders forgotten, 1 guest left, got breakfast eventually, got given toast that had been stood for a while, not even able to butter it, no plate for toast, tried to butter on table. Breakfast was overcooked yet cold, poor quality and uncomfortably awkward.
Best fish and chips I've had anywhere!
Charlotte and all the staff looked after us all really well. Food was lovely and service was great. no complaints from 31 Ramblers.
Staff are so lovely and work so hard always with a smile on their face. Location is great. The only thing that lets this place down are the rooms. They are in desperate need of a refurb. We will eat here again but not stay over. Such a shame.
We booked for 13 of us for a family meal the night before our wedding. As requested, we pre ordered and nothing seemed too much trouble. However, when we arrived, the greeting we recieved were not great and seemed shocked by such a large booking number like it was some kind of joke. There was no service the whole evening, everything we hd to ask for including missing meals, missing drinks, no cutlery, no sauces, no napkins. Each time we had to ask, we literally had to try and flag someone down and it was not great. The room upstairs was very hot and we had to ask several times if we could open a door as it was making it very unbearable. When coming to pay, neither card machine would work and it took around 20 minutes for us to pay at the bar downstairs after going back and forth to different tills. Again, it just seemed like some kind of joke to the staff who didn't seem bothered about it one bit nor seem to know what they was doing. Food was nice but due to very poor service I would not recommend.
Really enjoyed our meal all starters and mains were great massive portions and great value for money, great atmosphere and choice was perfect, we run Meathop Fell Caravan Club Site and will be recommending our members to you
Outstanding level of service and care throughout. When we were there there was a lively but polite crowd of regulars on the bar downstairs. The views from the front of the hotel are spectacular. There is a beautiful energy here also and is very close to the train station and the promenade. Highly recommended. The food was proper pub food cooked to absolute perfection with the most meaty steak pie ever created for sure! Rooms were to a high standard and cleaned with care.
Friendly staff lovely views, great food and wine
The staff were really helpful and friendly. Food was really good.
Good value for money restaurant with a view over Morecambe Bay
We had a lovely meal - just enough for our 'aged' appetites!!!! The young men who served us were great too.
Attended for food and drink with my daughter. The food was excellent and the overall service was friendly and professional. Our waiter was a young chap who was attentive and friendly. Overall a great evening
We all had a fantastic evening thank you and the gluten free menu was very good xx
Great food, we were a large reservation and the experience was brilliant. Great communication and outstanding delivery of a large reservation
Thank you for making us and our dog feel so welcome.
We did enjoy our food whilst on an evening out during a short break to the South Lakes. However the wait for food was a little too long ( especially the desert) We almost had to cancel it as we had a taxi booked .The other comment is about the service ie the young man serving us was rather unusual and a little difficult to deal with ,rather "over the top" in his communication with us and his "running around " did not create a calming relaxing atmosphere ! Difficult to explain his manner although not impolite.
Sunday lunch in the bar. All home cooked and fresh veg, with plenty of meat. Yorkshire pudding was dry and crumbled when I cut into it. I asked for more gravy and was politely told there would be a charge, so I paid extra for a teeny tiny jug of gravy, which was about an egg cup full. Toilets are disgusting. My mother always told me to check the cleanliness of the toilets before ordering food. Sadly I didn’t, or I would have eaten elsewhere.
Very pleasant and friendly staff. Food was lovely and good portions.
Nice friendly pub, great atmosphere with a fantastic view over looking the bay. The food was lovely. Will definitely visit again the next time we're in the area and would highly recommend.
Food was generally good quality. We were charged for kids drinks although they were meant to be included in the piece of kids meals. Lovely setting but the photos on the website are not representative of the actual interior which looked tired.
