About The Cock Inn Epsom
The Cock Inn re-opened in March 2015 following a £500,000 refurbishment which has seen this beautiful pub returned to its roots, not just in name. Perched atop a hill, The Cock Inn is another great spot to enjoy delicious, quality, fresh, seasonal food and a proper pint, whether you’re with friends, family or colleagues.
First visit to the Cock Inn and was a little disappointed firstly I would have liked a cocktail and they could only do Gin based ones, even though they had a varied selection on the menu,I don’t drink Gin, and secondly many dishes on the Menu we wanted had run out at only 8pm. The food that we had was very good though. Service was good
I have noticed the food was presented different, so I asked if you have change chef , it’s a good thing, it’s getting better than it was , I love a good roast , PS staff very good specially Luke he is a great guy and the girls , overall I would give 10iut of 10 , see you soon ! Pedro
we visited the cock for the first time, we had lovely greeting from the from the landlady. there were 6 of us we all ordered a different meal, even catered for ceoliacs. we all enjoyed our meals and would be going again soon.
Really lovely experience. Perfect table for our party of 8 - we all love a round table - defo added to the occasion. Great menu - all very happy and all ate too much. We will be back - thank you for making our lunch such a pleasurable occasion. By the way such amazing views too
We were very well looked after when we attended for a family lunch for 12 people on a Saturday lunchtime. The team were very welcoming, the food was delicious and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The pub was busy with lots of other customers but we had very good service. Thank you.
The hot food was good but spoilt by cold plates. This is the second time this has happened!
Excellent service from efficient and friendly staff. A minor issue with my main course was resolved quickly without fuss. Food was fresh and tasty with good sized portions. The triple roast needs a hearty appetite! We enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning soon.
Very good as always.
Trouble here was a lovely restaurant and our waiter was great but he was let down by the kitchen who not only made us wait 45 minutes for our meal but then missed half the ingredients from the dish. Potential to be a great place but clearly someone needs a hard kick to get it right....shame, disappointed.
I would just like to say first and foremost that our waiter was lovely and none of my feedback should reflect poorly on him as he did a fantastic job with very poor resources! I took my husband to the cock inn for his birthday lunch and we were very disappointed with the food quality, speed and service. We arrived early for our meal and were the first people to enter the restaurant, however, it took nearly 45 minutes for us to be served our starters of garlic bread, hummus and olives (which was obviously far too long and meant the children had had enough by the time the starters actually arrived. Our main courses took equally as long to arrive and when they did, my daughter’s roast lamb was all fat, so we had to send it back as it was inedible. Equally my quinoa salad was tasteless and bland and my husband’s pork belly was mostly black pudding with the tiniest portion of pork. It took over two hours for us to finish because of the long wait time which meant that we were unable to have coffee or a desert (which would have been nice as a treat as it was a special occasion), because the baby was tired and needed to sleep. I fed this back to a manager who obviously couldn’t care less and just wanted to give excuses as to why all of the above had occurred (which is terrible customer service) and the only person who apologised was our waiter who was clearly upset we had had such a poor experience. We will not be back to the Cock Inn and I do not recommend eating here unless you want to have a very poor experience!!
We were disappointed by the quality of food and service was slow.
Had a great meal here, nice to see the main menu and gluten free one are virtually the same, makes a change from normally having to pick from a substantially cut down menu
Best dining pub in the area.
My wife and I had a lovely meal at the Cock Inn, she needs to eat gluten free food and the menu options were great.
Food was good but took forever to arrive. Had to complain before any attention was paid to the fact that we ordered and an hour and a quarter later still had no food. Busy pub but that’s no excuse
Very busy as it was Easter Sunday. However everything ran smoothly. Thoroughly enjoyable visit. Totally recommend . Staff great.
Cold overpriced food.
I stumbled across this little gem of a place whilst looking for somewhere to stop for a Sunday roast on our way home from a weekend away. I was lucky enough to book a table and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Food was great - the chaps that serve you genuinely seem to care and obviously enjoy working there :) spot on - well done guys!
Really lovely staff, beautiful setting and great food and drink. I would highly recommend a visit!
This was my third visit and I keep hoping the food would get better as the staff are very pleasant and helpful. They seem to be let down by the chef/kitchen. After waiting quite a while yet again my main meal was sent back as the middle of the nice tasting fish cake was cold along with the cold poached egg. Waitress was very apologetic and returned with it warmer but egg was lukewarm. At the end of the meal the waitress advised me that mine had been deducted from the bill. Wine was good though!
Lovely food, service with a smile from Julie and her team, where nothing is too much trouble. Always a lovely welcome, delicious food and that’s why we come back for more. Can’t beat it.
Great Sunday lunch with the family and the dogs. we aew always well looked after, especially by Julie.
Lovely friendly pub and ideal place for dog owners as dog friendly and catered for!
Lovely atmosphere professional service. Amazing food. Been here in the past knew I wanted my mother's day here well done guys!
It was ok, nothing special. The food was pretentious, but was average overall. There was nothing particularly standout about the place.
