About The Cock Inn Epsom
The Cock Inn re-opened in March 2015 following a £500,000 refurbishment which has seen this beautiful pub returned to its roots, not just in name. Perched atop a hill, The Cock Inn is another great spot to enjoy delicious, quality, fresh, seasonal food and a proper pint, whether you’re with friends, family or colleagues.
To be honest I wasn't very impressed I took my wife there for a Valentine's meal and to be perfectly honest I think I would have got a better choice of meals at my normal pub the Rubbing house Don't get me wrong the food was tasty but when my wife ordered the pie and didn't want the seasonal vegetables just carrots we were told they hadn't prepared any So her plate had a small pie on it a small jug of gravy next to it and a cup of chips all for about £16 not good value in my eyes The staff were very pleasant but the place was empty which was a bit strange on Valentine's
Lovely food - outstanding service. Good value.
Always the best roast beef. Staff excellent
Good quality food and very good service. Nice country pub with open fires and nice decor. David was very attentive.
Lovely atmospere (and large table!) for us five adults and 3 dogs. Very pleasant and efficient service, good food and drinks, we had a mix of roasts and vegetarian and all were good and plates cleared! Good choice of beers and ciders. Service was quite slow (busy sunday lunch) but that suited us, better than being rushed through your meal to free up the table. Would definitely recommend following a bracing walk on Headley Heath.
Brilliant place to visit. Excellent food great value for money. The staff are so friendly and helpful.
Our Server, David B, was excellent and very attentive. We all enjoyed our meals. We plan to come again in the near future.
What a lovely 23rd anniversary dinner we had at the Cock Inn. The table reserved fo us was great. The food was lovely and the service provided by David B was superb.
The waiters were all very charming and patient with our questions, although a little more in depth knowledge of products could have improved the service to an even higher level😊
I’ve been to the cock inn a couple of times now and both times has been INCREDIBLE ! Food delicious, service on point and atmosphere a delight . Being dog friendly is also a huge highlight for me
Was nice enough but some very simple changes could have improved our experience. We were given the menu and left to decide our choices only to be told that everything I had chosen on the menu was not available. Good to know these things when you're seated. I then chose the specials starter of salt & pepper calamari. The calamari was extremely salty and not really that meaty more akin to rubber bands. Not the floor staff's fault but they seemed a bit over stretched in a full pub this made service a touch slow. I wanted to finish with a nice coffee but the coffee machine had just broken apparently. They did offer filter coffee on the house. We were a bit cold too. They did have a few electric radiators dotted about and the fire on but just didn't quite hit the spot. Ok but not quite there on this occasion.
I took a party of 25 or do there for a post running race meal on new years day. All pre booked a few weeks in advance. The staff were excellent at dealing with the orders I emailed in, even with the usual late orders, no shows and extra people coming along. The service on the day was great as was the good and drinks
Great roast beef as always
Great food Excellent service Considerate staff No rush attitude Good prices Lovely birthday treat! Thank you!
I am disabled in a wheelchair. The facilities here are excellent. From parking in the disabled bay, you go to the outside wheelchair lift and into the restaurant. The only slight is the tightness of entering the disabled toilet with a wheelchair. Menu and drinks varied with a good choice with 'Specials'. Good ambience with very friendly and helpful staff.
My Husbands meal was fine. Mine unfortunately my veggie choice was unavailable. Offered an alternative Mushroom Risotto I don’t like either but thought I would pick out mushrooms
Very enjoyable. Good food, perhaps a little noisey, but I guess that is an indication of how popular it is.
We dined at the Cock Inn for Lunch on Sunday 23rd Dec, our first visit. Whilst, the staff were friendly, charming and were clearly doing their best. We found service to be rather slow, it took an hour and 20 minutes for our main course to arrive and when it did although tasty, mine was just lukewarm. I did not complain, as we had waited so long for the main course to arrive. I feel that the food had been sitting around on the servery hot plate far too long. However, we did fare better with both our starters and desserts all of which were very nice. Plus I feel that Dogs should really be restricted to the Bar area and not allowed in the Restaurant/Eating area or have a separate part allocated for Dog owners.
Table staff were friendly and helpful
We had a booking for 16, we had to pay a deposit and pre order. The contact from the pub wasn’t very good as i had to chase to pay deposit, obtain menu and phone to confirm they had received the email for pre order. Mix up with time of table by half an hour but they were very good getting our table ready when previous customers had left. I think because of the mix up with the time the food took a bit longer to be served. The service was pretty good and the manager attentive. Food good especially roast beef which is the best pub roast beef I’ve had. We all had a good evening
We had a lovely lunch at the pub. It is a very pleasant place and the food is very good BUT it was very cold. We had to keep our coats on for a long time and only took them off to eat. They did have some portable heaters but some of these were turned off. They really need to get the heating sorted out. It took us a while to warm up after we left.
A busy, busy pre-Christmas Saturday, and your staff coped excellently with good humour and every amount of help. the meal was served to our large party promptly and hot. The food was good, and the whole experience excellent.
Excelent service and good food.
Always have a lovely meal. The staff are very attentive love the atmosphere. It is my favourite place to eat.
Excellent food and service - much enjoyed by all party.
