About The Cock Inn Mugginton
For over ten years this once very popular pub has stood empty, Now it’s back! The lovely old building has been given a much needed make over and a major new contemporary extension built to house a modern & special restaurant… We’ve designed and built a place where you’ll find a wonderful ambience amongst an eclectic combination of original features and modern interpretations. We hope you’ll agree we have transformed this historic and much loved watering hole, into a first class traditional pub with a modern cutting edge.
Impressive renovation of this pub. I couldn’t fault the whole evening- the staff and service were excellent, as was the food- great steak and the vegetables were perfect. I will certainly return and would highly recommend
First time eating here. Lovely place and super food will definitely go again Service was good and staff were friendly and accommodating.
Always good quality and excellent service.
Very nice evening , will go back
Overall a wonderful experience, excellent food, service and surroundings. The only thing I would mention is the time it took for our food to arrive particularly as we were asked to pre order. Our table was booked for 8.00pm and it was after 8.30 before we got our starter and about 9.15 before our main meals arrived. Having said that it didn’t spoil our experience and we can’t wait to return.
Always very good.
As ever great food & great service....however at 2pm in the afternoon there was no lamb left which was one of the three sunday lunch choices, and the pork loin was advertised with crackling but none was served
Fab service and lovely food. Will be back again
Excellent food and drink, great service, lovely atmosphere. Have already booked for our next visit to Derby.
We celebrated my sisters birthday and the staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The food was amazing and a wonderful time was had by all. Thank you 😊
Just a lovely experience from start to finish. Heard good things about the pub so wanted to try it out. Booking process was easy and hassle free. Greeted with a smile on arrival And was asked to wait in the bar for the rest of the party, table ready on time in a lovely spot next to the window. Sharing starters were excellent and the main was just as good. Very attentive staff from the bar right through to waitresses who were polite without being over bearing. A country pub doing good honest gastro food without trying to be pretentious. Best meal I’ve had in a very long time. Shall defenintley return soon.
Great evening with the family celebrating a birthday
Fantastic service (as usual) and very accommodating with the slight problem of us arriving late. Highly recommended and we will of course be going again. Thank you.
Great place, very attentive friendly staff
We brought our family and sat upstairs for the first time which was beautiful. My son had the ribs which looked amazing but was very tasteless. We all tried it and agreed and at £17 ish not cheap. The rest of the food was nice.
Lovely to allow our Bassett Hound to visit with us.
Everything was great but we were a little taken a back when my 21 year old daughter, whose party we were there for, was refused a drink because she'd forgotten her ID. We weren't offered any common sense alternatives like drinks with the meal, just No! Luckily we could go back and get it but it did seem rather over the top when we had balloons and a cake etc. I don't think we'd go to that much trouble for an illegal drink!
Visited to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary - always a pleasant experience with quality food and first class service.
Strange combination of tastes. The building lacks personality though nicely done. £12 is expensive foe a lunchtime main course. Bit of a wait, although not that busy on a Tuesday lunchtime.
having pre booked our table we had to wait approx 30 mins for the table to be available it took considerable time to take our order and the roasts were just warm not hot Disappointing as it was a birthday meal
Amazing service.. very polite..very friendly and chatty.
Been several times very good do feel the menu could be changed more regularly with more different dishes Thank you
The service and food were up to your usual standard which is why we enjoy coming to the Cock Inn. On this occasion we had visitors who asked us to take them to the Cock for a second visit.
Food very good and service good too we will return soon again
