About The Coach and Horses
Standing on one of the largest village greens in the UK since 1744, The Coach is a truly classic British pub attracting visitors from near and far for centuries.
We pride ourselves on only serving fresh, homemade made food prepared on site by our team of talented chefs for brunch, lunch, dinner and events seven days a week. From traditional pub grub classics to posh plates, moreish bar snacks to vegetarian ample vegetarian options, we have something to tickle everyone’s taste buds.
Our beautiful old pub offers a space to suit everyone and every occasion.
While away an afternoon or evening in one of our two bars (four legged friends are welcome in the main bar).
Enjoy a quiet meal for two or celebrate a special occasion with friends and family in our restaurant.
For something more intimate try No.10 @ The Coach, our beautiful, semi-private table set in the large bay window overlooking the green.
We are also very proud to offer enviable outdoor space as well. There are front and side patio seating and one of the largest pub gardens around with a huge children’s play area to keep everyone entertained on those sunny (and not so sunny) days!
If you are looking for someplace to eat, drink, meet, play, or celebrate, you will feel right at home at The Coach.
The food was lovely and the service was great, staff are lovely.
Great friendly pub with lovely outdoor seating and play area for the kids. The food was lovely and great portions, our only criticism is the service was quite slow.
We found all staff to be helpful and friendly. Service was good. We will be going back but maybe once allowed to sit indoors.
Excellent friendly service and nice garden.
Food was average, service was appalling - we waited half an hour to be served our drinks, half of our starters didnt arrive and my friends meal came 15 mins after we had ours. The staff attitude was abysmal.
Booking was simple Staff friendly and efficient. Sat in the little hut outside which was warm. Very covid safe. The food was delicious with good sized portions from a varied menu. Great value for money. Have already booked to go back for the unlimited Prosecco lunch 🥂🥂
The food and drinks were great, the layout and set up was great, music was turned on and each table had an umbrella. Drink service was a little slow and it was difficult at times to order, we had to wait quite a while to order drinks a few times. I think it would be easier to have the QR code where people order online, but overall staff were amazing and helpful and friendly.
Very friendly staff and a good choice of food. Range of outside eating areas.
Was pouring down with rain, but the staff were lovely and accommodating with blankets
First visit and won’t be our last. Good range of options on the menu. Really lovely meal. Very friendly staff.
Was sitting in booth at front of pub, i think the waiter had forgotten we were there, as had to get up a couple of times to ask for things, but nice booth with heater, could di with cushions on the sests
Well done to the Team. You looked after my 'walking group' last Friday lunchtime really well. Much appreciated. We all wish you every success over the summer as things open up. Stephen
It was pretty poor to be honest. We had to wait 20 minutes for both rounds of drinks (3 cokes and a pint of lager), I don’t know how long we would have waited if I hadn’t asked where they were. Food was prompt but arrived before we had cutlery or condiments. My daughter’s meal arrived with peas even though we asked for beans. Cue waiting another 10 minutes for them to arrive, when they did it was in a very chipped ramekin. Really shoddy. Staff were friendly enough but it was so disorganised.
Thanks for the lovely food and service
I needed a place I could bring small kids that would be boring for them. They loved it. The play area is fantastic for a pub. We only Came for a meal for a child and coffee because it was too early for lunch but we saw a lot of great looking food vexing served to other tables which we’ll definitely come back to try. Staff were really friendly and nice.
Second time to visit post lockdown we are a family of six with four small kids. First time we waited long for food and when it did come we had no cutlery and ask for some by the time it arrived our food was stone cold we gave it the benefit of the down and came back again but nothing had changed again service was slow 2 hours after arriving our food still hadn’t come with four small kids this is unacceptable we ended up having to go with no food and very hungry children! This place has so much potential!
Very slow service, took half an hour for someone to take our order and took another 30 mins for our order to arrive at our table - we only ordered drinks. The drinks had flat lemonade. No order at table app provided. No overhead covers expect for some umbrellas over picnic tables, no outdoor heating provided. Very disappointed that although other pubs nearby have invested money and time into adapting their space throughout the Covid lockdown, the Coach and Horses does not seem to have done that. Poorly run system. Will be going somewhere else in the future.
Friendly helpful staff, tasty bar snacks and a lovely setting. Can't wait to return.
Ordered beer and sunshine and duly delivered 👍🏻
Very good service considering circumstances
The service was appalling, one member of staff particularly rude and to charge a deposit for a blanket ? Really !
Staff were lovely, great food and the garden was a lovely spot to have a drink in
Appalling service 45 minutes to get first drink and a menu......after asking four people and waiting a further hour and a half got the second drink. No apologies just flippant comment about to be expected with staffing. When went to pay bill extra drinks added. Food though was very good.
