Our Bar is full of character, charm and a collection of cosy chairs to sink into - gin and tonic in hand!
Pop by for coffee in the morning and read the papers, enjoy a drink with friends after a day in the office or sip on a pre-dinner cocktail in the evening. Have a bite to eat; our all day menu is designed for that very purpose. Eat in the snug, cosy comfort of the library or on the sunny terrace on warmer days. It’s a place for any occasion and will satisfy any whim.
Booking is currently not available for the Bar.
It’s stated that service charge is10percent,but the invoice shows the charge to be much greater??
Good that the Close was participating in the Eat Out scheme, but the prices seemed raised to make no discernible difference. Bring back the set lunch - we'll wait to return until then.
Absolutely fantastic stay, atmosphere and service. We stayed in the Cloisters which is quite simply a luxury above anything I’ve experienced in a long time. Staff were very professional and sensitive throughout. A real gem of a place.
As newcomers to Tetbury we stumbled across The Close by chance and how lucky we were. We’ve now eaten there three times in a week and the consistency and quality of food and service has been flawless each time. We can’t recommend highly enough!!
Lovely lunch again. Food fantastic and will be back again soon
A lovely relaxing weekend break. Excellent food complimented by superb service...a real treat!
A beautiful summer's evening spent in the garden at The Close Hotel. Beautiful food and a superb setting.
We had a fantastic break away in what seemed like a little oasis of tranquility within a chaotic world at the moment! Whilst our room was quite noisy and unfortunately did not face the gardens and we were opposite scaffolding and building work on a shop, the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating, room very clean and comfortable and food simply delicious. The hotel is simply gorgeous and managed to get the balance between sophistication and relaxation. We really unwound after a manic few months and al fresco dining on the terrace and breakfast in the early morning sun topped off a magic couple of days.
The cuckoo room was absolutely lovely, we very much enjoyed the excellent food, service and outdoor gardens and patio, a lovely break in Tetbury.
Food and service were excellent, will come again.
Luncheon, Monday afternoon. We were welcomed promptly and shown to our seats. The menu choice was excellent. My Husband had the beef burger and he said that it was one of the best he had ever had. I had panfried salmon with the most delicious creamy hollandaise sauce with a side order of chips. The pudding choice was a shared summer fruit meringue. Although the fruit was fresh, we did not think that the meringue was homemade, it was like eating sweetened cardboard.... Given the current circumstances with COVID 19, the place was clean and the tables are well spaced out. We felt relaxed. (I have given four stars for atmosphere as the choice of background music was somewhat strange and a little loud. Perhaps classic or easy listening would be more appropriate?)
The service was better than the food. The lemon sole dish was too salty and the sticky toffee dessert was too stodgy. The waiting service was impeccable. Loved the Cotswold gin
Wonderful as always! It is way above just a usual restaurant. Fab service and an all round amazing dining experience.
My daughter and I spent a night at The Close Hotel and were extremely impressed by every aspect of our stay. The team were professional and friendly and the measures in place were efficient and effective, but in no way detracted from the lovely experience. It was a real tonic. Thank you.
Beautiful place, enjoyed our stay
Relaxed atmosphere. Nice outside dinning area. The staff are very attentive and helpful.
Had a fantastic time staying at The Close Hotel, great setting and friendly staff.
Difficult to create atmosphere with social distancing but we really enjoyed our lunch with you
Lovely setting. All the staff are very friendly. Food is really nice, if some dishes a tad expensive for what they are. Would be nice to have a dedicated waiter/waitress rather than everybody covering all tables. Leads to some confusion and lack of relationship. But would recommend and will come back.
Difficult to generate indoors atmosphere during pandemic. Worthwhile experience all round.
Wonderful staff and we sat in the garden. Was so lovely to be out for lunch again. Thank you
Just out of covid & an excellent experience. Staff were fabulous & safety measures were very good. Overall we had a great time... room, food , price & service
First time for me, I passed a really good moment with my friends. I live in Nailsworth i will definitely come back.
