About The Cliff House
We are an independent restaurant, bar and rooms sitting on the cliff top in Barton on Sea, offering panoramic views of the Solent.
You can always be certain of a warm welcome and relaxed feel, our team work hard so all you need to do is sit back and unwind. Whilst we have an informal approach to make everyone feel welcome, we take our food and service very seriously. Fuss free, modern British fayre, made from scratch and delicious every time.
Our team of talented Chefs, use local, seasonal ingredients to produce a creative and contemporary menu in relaxed surroundings. The perfect accompaniment to that stunning view.
If you can drag your gaze away from the coastline, take a peek at our specials' board where the team use their passion for baking, butchery, local fish and seasonal stars, to develop some cracking dishes.
We will be back, lovely setting, warm atmosphere and great food. Thank you
When the weather is good, the views are fantastic
Lovely view, good service and beautifully cooked fish
Nice atmosphere, good food at reasonable prices. Now our local go to place for an easy meal.
Despite being extremely busy the evening we came the service was excellent and the waiting time to order and then get our food was just right. It was incredibly noisy and we did have to shout to each other to be heard but I'm not sure there is much you can about the acoustics of the restaurant. We evening before we visited The Cliff House we had eaten at Chewton Glen where we were staying - we had a better meal with better service with you at a third of the price!!
Good service, good food, and good company this was our 1st visit we are new to the area we will definitely be back
Very enjoyable lunch, with a relaxing atmosphere. Good selection on the menu and specials board. Food and service excellent and will definitely visit again.....5 stars all round.
Excellent service and food and great atmosphere for a 60th Birthday celebration. I would strongly recommend
Staff are so friendly, food and service excellent and the restaurant setting is beautiful
The food was excellent. The service was a bit slow- 45 min wait for mains although restaurant wasn’t busy. Only disappointment was that the drinks (pimms) were served in ‘handled jam jars!’ Ok for outside but not in a restaurant.
Lovely evening fabulous good and great service
Roast dinner - Yorkshire pud over cooked, Gravy thin, veg unappealing. Have had better here. Cajun chicken starter was excellant.
Food is always delicious, staff always friendly and a lot of effort has been put into making it a welcoming, relaxed venue…The Cliff House just gets better and better!
We regularly come to The Cliff House and the service and food are amazing. I have Coeliac disease and the staff are so amazing at remembering and asking the chef if they can adapt certain things. The view is incredible too.
Great afternoon tea with my mum and mum in law. Was a bit concerned that with a lot of people outside drinking that the vibe may not be suitable for two octogenarians. But it was lovely, service b friendly and the tea was great value - waiting for us too so no wait to speak of. Highly recommended
Will be back again verysoon
Lovely food, lovely service and great atmosphere. Shame the wine I wanted was out of stock :(
Fantastic service as usual with a lovely atmosphere on a sunny lunchtime. Great location. Can’t wait to go back
There were 5 of us and two of the party ordered a special, Plaice. The message came back to us that the Chef was not happy with one of the pieces so asked if we minded waiting. We were happy to wait and were given breads and olives whilst we waited. First class service and lovely food.
Always enjoy my visits here, so relaxed and welcoming.
Really lovely. Will be back.
Shame about the power cut. Although must say staff were very professional and we were kept informed all the time. Will deffiently be back.
Excellent staff. Good food
Amazing! Thank you. Xx
