About The Churchill
Some say he’s the Greatest Briton of all time. Others say he’s the most influential person in British history. His legacy lives on here. Take a minute to unwind in our cozy Bunker. Sip on classic cocktails and refreshing G & T’s in our second floor Restaurant Garden Bar. We have a fantastic balcony where you can watch the hustle and bustle pass you by. Need a beer to wash away the stress or to share with old friends? We’ve got 31 taps with guest ciders and craft options as well as imported British beers. We also offer a changing wine list which showcases some of the best wines from around this beautiful country.
Always great service by friendly and professional staff. Food is delicious. Thanks
Great pub atmosphere and pub food. Very helpful staff.
Couldn’t have asked for a better night! Thank you so so much to all involved.
Great service, efficient and friendly!
Amazing staff, very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended
Very impressed with the service and the food was great too. Will definitely return.
The kumura fries are to die for!
The pub is great, the staff are very helpful and friendly. Good range of beers on tap, plus happy hour 5-7pm is a bonus. The quiz night is really good fun and quite challenging. The only disappointment is the menu/food. Having tried several mains and side dishes, on a couple of occasions, nothing was above average. Next time our group will eat before we go to the pub.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere, service and the special of the day - Roast Beef. Would highly recommend this place.
Great food and atmosphere!
Enjoyable meal. Kids were welcome. Thanks
Awesome tasty food and great portions. Good variety too. Was quiet over lunch but that is nothing to complain about. Will be back!
Great place for an after work catch up with friends.
Emily - thank you for making our event successful. Our guest of honour and attendees where very pleased with the venue and catering. Very happy to revisit again. The only criticism I have for the owner/s and management about the room is while speeches where proceeding, the room temperature increased, when the doors were closed. Some sort of ventilation would be helpful going forward.
Excellent value for money, and great service - highly recommend.
Bar wouldn't accept or wasn't aware of the Pint, Pie and Chips for $20 deal that Social Club had promoted. Embarrassing for me and my invited guests and confusing for bar staff. It's not really acceptable when I need to be disputing an advertised promotion with the bar staff.
It was great all over and nice to see the staff dress up on your reopening night after the Conoid Virus lock down I won a voucher and my fiancé celebrate alsorts of anniversaries and it was nice that they acknowledged one of our anniversaries Thank you for the great service, food and drink Can not wait to see what you have upstairs and love your art especially the cats & dogs dressed up
Food was great. We both had the chicken snitzel, garlic mash pots (amazing) with a good coleslaw. Huge serving. Highly recommend.
Thank you, the staff were lovely and we appreciate their effort to adapt to the covid environment.
Great night thanks.
Great place but food was average. Pork really chewy hubby enjoyed his Yorkshire burrito.
Food was lovely, service was a little off. Although the young girl was nice she seemed a little overwhelmed by simple requests. For example, she didn't give us large coffees as requested - we got large ones later on 2nd order via another young lass - and 1st girl gave us tiny side plates for us to share 2 dishes. I had to ask for larger plates which took about 5 minutes to be delivered to us - annoying. It was great to be able to use my entertaiment book discount. Cheers for a nice lunch, hopefully service is better next time :)
An absolutely terrible experience that has destroyed my faith in The Churchill and WHG. We reserved a table (6 people) a week in advance and pre-ordered our meals the day before. We turned up at our reservation time (5:30) and by 7:00 no food had turned up. The waitress kept lying to us saying “Yes sit you’re good is coming it will be down shortly.” We’ll the food never arrived. Finally the Manager appeared and apologised saying there’s only two chefs on and we’ve been swamped with walk-ins!” So clearly the prioritised the walk-ins over ya good people who pre-booked and pre-ordered. More to the point... Why on earth were there only 2 chefs on the night of the Queen concert when as your manager said “We’ve never had so many bookings!”. I was embarrassed that I’d recommended The Churchill to my friends. Thankfully Pita Pita promptly served food so we were able to eat before the concert. I am very reluctant to go back to The Churchill or any WHG venue for that matter now. And I definitely wouldn’t recommend booking here as a group. After all 6 is hardly a big group! I was one of 9 groups that complained that night (Wednesday 5 February). I’d hate to think how many people walked our having lot been fed! The owners and management need to ensure appropriate staffing levels or stop taking bookings.
Being an exceptionally busy night prior to the Queen concert probably wasn't the best time to do a review. Taking that into consideration the waitress was most apologetic about the delay in our dinner.
We pre ordered due to the queen concert, when we hit there at 6 PM we were told meals would be twenty minutes, still waiting at 7.00. Told another half hour, we walked out.
