About The Chilli Pickle Guildford
We are a nationally-acclaimed regional Indian restaurant.
We're passionate about Indian culture, local produce and traditional methods.
Great food. Will definitely come again
Our third visit and another excellent meal at Chilli Pickle. Such a joy to have a decent Indian restaurant in Guildford.....usually we have to travel to London for this quality.
Although the food was tasty, the service we received wasn’t great, and the manager had to apologise for it and give us 25% off our bill. We waited to order, to them find out we should’ve been told there were no whole sea bass left, and that there was a set menu on offer but we hadn’t been given that menu. We then only 4 sets of popadoms for the set menu came out instead of 5. And had to sit a wait for our wine to make it to our table, despite 50% of the rest of the drinks coming to the table. We then had to wait 45 mins for our starter, of which one came without the correct sauces. There was another table next to us that ordered after us but their starters came first. We then had another very long wait for our mains, which were tasty but tbh we would’ve eaten anything by that point. We then ordered desserts, only to find that the banana chocolate dessert only had one left. We wanted two. They asked who would like to swap. We swapped and then when the desserts came to the table there were in fact no banana and chocolate desserts left so both members of my group had to have mango, which he doesn’t like! Pretty disastrous, and the manager admitted so and was very sorry etc etc. We arrived at 8pm and were last to leave at 11pm, a table of 6. Shouldn’t really have taken us that long to eat three courses! Not the best first experience. Nb you haven’t even got our booking time right on this review email. Our table was prebooked and emailed confirmed for 8pm. We arrived at 8 on the dot. But your email now says arrival time 8.30!
Food was very good but we felt the service needed more work, long wait to order food even though it wasn't very busy. The overall service meant we didn't want to leave a big tip but it was included on the bill so we didn't really have an option without making a big fuss. Seemed a bit pricey compared to other similar restaurants.
Lovely flavours and presentation but a bit pricey! Also 10% service tax compulsory was a bit much!
We booked for 9 people to celebrate a birthday. We had fabulous delicious food, perhaps slightly too much, and excellent service. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff. Definitely recommend especially the Kerala fish starter.
I really love the food here. We've eaten a few time in Brighton, and were very happy to see you arrive in Guildford. Lovely staff. Just superb food. Not really much in the way of atmosphere, but I think that was more to do with the time of day than anything! Sure its buzzing of an evening.
Fantastic, loved it!
Delicious food with incredible flavours
A fantastic meal and stunning atmosphere.
Really nice food, if a little more expensive than your average night out. Nice to try something different but think the restaurant may suffer in time due to a very limited menu.
Great curry with a twist
Fantastic Indian food and drink in an eclectic contemporary atmosphere at a great price. Great friendly service which will leave you wanting to come back for more. If you haven’t been yet then you are missing a trick.
Refreshing change to all the other restaurants that sell Indian food in Guildford. Will definitely be back again !
Gorgeous food, Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere! Will definitely be back and we have already recommended to friends and family.
Great service brilliant food
Fantastic food in a fun environment
Our second visit and can’t wait to come again. Some great flavours and good portions. Excellent service and good value for money. A welcome addition to Guildford and a nice change from the predictable chain type restaurants!
Amazing, tasty authentic food :-)
Really well decorated restaurant capturing the perfect vibe. The short rib beef curry was incredible as were the vindaloo wings. Thank you
I would like more vegetarians mains. I do not eat aubergine it is not a great veg. So limited on options
Having eaten at your Brighton restaurant it was great to see you in Guildford. Food was amazing and friends said the curry was some of the best they had eaten! The only downside was the service, took 1 and a half hours to get our mains, so if you are not in a rush its a fab place to eat!!
Quite quiet but overall fantastic, from service to food. Will be coming again no doubt - for the lentil doughnuts if nothing else!
A different take on an Indian Restaurant. Delicious food and very friendly staff-will definitely be back!
Beef short rib madras was amazing - what a shame it’s the only curry not on the takeaway menu. Food was generally great - only things I didn’t like were the chapatis (much too thick) and a lot of the chutneys and pickles were far too sweet.
