About The Chilli Pickle Guildford
We are a nationally-acclaimed regional Indian restaurant.
We're passionate about Indian culture, local produce and traditional methods.
Friendly service, good food, would go again.
I had the red tikka chicken which was dry and not very succulent - we go to the Brighton chilli pickle and I have the same dish. The Brighton one is by far the best for this dish...perhaps you can check how it is cooked there as it’s definitely not the same. All the other mains were lovely according to the group.
We had a fantastic meal at Chilli Pickle Guildford. However the evening was let down by the service. The wait for our main courses was very long and we received no updates or apology from any staff member. When the main appeared we were missing a rice. We then asked for it and instead was accidentally bought a raita and then finally a rice (once we’d almost finished eating.) we asked numerous time for more water and eventually got it. The three course dinner master over 3 hours which is incredibly slow for service.
Your food is quite good but not inexpensive. Your Wine is heavily overpriced ad the final bill should not include a 121/2 % service chafe on top of the menu prices.
Great choice of food - different from your "normal" curry house. Serving staff were very knowledgeable in the dishes and ingredients, and very attentive. Went for daughter's 21st birthday and she was given a complementary glass of prosecco and dessert with candle and singing of Happy Birthday.
Another great meal many thanks
Delicious fresh take on Indian food. Great and friendly service. Will definitely return.
Very pleased to see you in Guildford. We’ve been several times to the Brighton location and are big fans. Menu is refreshingly different from the standards seen in every high street and the bright colourful decor is suited to the cheerfulness of the staff. Definitely coming back soon.
Fantastic restaurant, decor is bright yet relaxing, food superb. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Best Indian restaurant in Surrey, menu is so varied nice change to your usual Indian restaurant menu. Will definitely be returning
Saturday lunch time service was good, very quiet and music a bit too loud for an almost empty early lunch time. Otherwise the food was fab, so flavourful. But we also loved the special drinks, just lovely.
Starters great, main courses well below expectation. For a restaurant quarter full food took far too long to arrive. Will not bother again. Disappointed
Enjoyable evening. Tasty food!
an Indian restaurant in the UK with character and personality.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food, the presentation and the service. The menu is refreshingly different and I like that the chicken is freshly cooked providing a much more succulent experience. The Butter Chicken was really good with plenty of sauce and the recommended Tandoori Horseradish Paneer starter was particularly good.
Very pleasant evening. Good food , good service.
perfect on all accounts , thank yo team
Fantastic food and atmosphere, staff super. Great takeaway food and service too.
Firsly, ambiance. Very poor. Loud, distorted music playing in a dark, empty, hard-furnished room is not at all welcoming. There was little or no Indian-ness in evidence - we could equally have been in some generic Mexican restaurant. Next, service. The staff were seriously under-trained. 2 waiters came to our table simultaneously so we didn't know who to order from. The waiter who brought our fancily-made coffees put the tray on a neighbouring table and proceeded to pour them out behind our backs (!) The food itself was pretty unimaginative and bland, no doubt to suit local tastes. Having lived in the Far East for over 20 years, and hearing about the owners' time in India, we were expecting something more authentic. The chapati - dry, greasy and throat-clogging - was the worst I have ever eaten. Serving only one half-dumpling of gulab jamun was very mean. Based on this experience I'm afraid I will not be coming back any time soon.
Staff were helpful and friendly, but there's still the "unpolished" feel of a new venue and staff. There is a good range of recipes available, but possibly some specialisation might improve the quality slightly.
I thought the food was very good but the service was pretty poor, only seeing service staff occationally and I had to go up to the bar to get my final bill as there was simply no one around. I also had to chase up the deserts, which failed to appear and I don’t actually think they had been ordered, given the time they took. I also didn’t think it was great for a birthday party of six to be put right next to the front door, given the size of the restaurant. Ive visited your Brighton location quite a few times and generally found the experience to be much better. It’s been a while, but I also seem to remember it was possible to get thalis there, which doesn’t seem to be the case in Guildford.
First time for me and my friends and we loved it. We are already telling friends and family about it and planning our next visit to sample some more dishes. Food was amazing, service was excellent and we were not made to feel rushed. All in all a very enjoyable evening.
I arranged a large group of 18, the staff were friendly and fabulous with my tricky customers!! Food was great, service attentive Will definitely go again
Staff very helpful explained all the dishes on full.
Amazing food, awesome staff!!
refreshing change from usual curry-house fare
