An excellent and friendly welcome, attentive and polite service and thoroughly enjoyable meal. Many thanks for looking after us on our wedding anniversary.
We also stayed at The Chequers Inn for the third time and it never disappoints. One of the best breakfast menus and choices we have ever experienced. Great location, fabulous walks.
Excellent facilities and loction
Tried to put us at worst table in half full dining room. Kitchen was very slow. Venison special was outstanding. Better at Lifeboat Inn
If you like good food and a relaxing weekend this is the place to stay.
Food great but drinks a bit pricey in comparison to other places we’ve stayed.
Lovely Sunday lunch in the Pavilion, perfect for our large group. Service was spot on. Thank you very much!
The service is a little slow, we sat at our table for about 40 minutes before the Starter was served and we got the impression they had forgotten about it. At one point nobody in the room, which was full, had food on the table! It improved after that and the food was good, particularly the Rhubarb, Ginger and Almond Crumble which was delicious. The restaurant was OK but lacked some atmosphere and the wooden chairs were a little uncomfortable so maybe some background music and more comfortable seating. That said we had a pleasant evening.
If you ate in the chequers inn last year and thought about going back this year DONT BOTHER. The kitchen chef and staff have completely changed. It was the most awful overpriced food I have tasted. Absolutely gutted as we loved this place last year. Couldn't even cook my son chicken dippers and chips it was so over cooked and burnt. The lady who served us last year bent over backwards to make our meal so enjoyable unfortunately the team today couldn't even be bothered to give us a drinks menu or tell us the soup of the day or what food was not available. A complete miss match of foods nothing went together at all. £113 for 3 adults and a 4 year old and no alcohol and I would of rather had fish and chips on the seafront. Bring back the old team I say before the place completely falls apart. I would like to actually see the owner write some feed back also rather than an automated response.
We’d been for lunch before and loved it so came back for dinner. We weren’t disappointed; perfectly cooked scallops and chicken parfait, beautiful pork belly and sea bream and a pecan pie and ice cream dessert to die for. Our server was from the Lifeboat which she explained but she was excellent. Your establishment is family friendly which is to be applauded - probably not exactly what we were looking for on a Saturday evening but it didn’t spoil our experience - thank you
The place is very good, the food was hot, very tasty, my husband and I both had pizza which was lovely. The girl who served us was very polite and helpful.
Overall a lovely experience
Very disappointing and expensive for the food and drinks. Food not to the standard we were told. Would be better for you to stick to good pizzas and pies.
We enjoyed our stay very much & and the food was excellent. If we choose to visit North Norfolk again we won't hesitate to book here.
Very nice evening meal, staff great would go again.
Room was lovely however very small
We booked on a Telegraph deal. All went according to plan. Meals all very good. Thanks
Food fantastic, location superb, rooms well appointed if a little small, service however, on this occasion, was a lottery! It’s a shame, one surly member of staff unravels all the good done by others......
Excellent location for visiting all the local towns and places of interest. Hotel has some wonderful accommodating staff and the room is very well equipped and comfortable for all our needs. This is worth the visit and hope to return in the future.
Lovely food and staff were great too! Very well presented and good vegan/veggie menu as well as the standard menu.
Most of the Staff were open, friendly and keen to make our stay enjoyable.
Really lovely food, great service, would absolutely recommend
Service was slow on both nights of our stay and at breakfast as well.
