About The Chequers at Crowle
Country pub specialising in home-cooked Anglo-French food. Real ales, fine wines & premium brand spirits served in a warm friendly atmosphere.
My family & I had a lovely afternoon on Good Friday. We sat inside then had dessert outside as the weather was gorgeous. Although the food we had was delicious, I was disappointed with the very limited vegetarian menu. Also we ordered the souffle which collapsed once it reached our table. But would happily recommend this venue
Quite an expensive night out, especially the bar, but always a lovely treat.
Great food, super atmosphere, wonderful service!
Great food and service I would recommend to anyone, probably worth the value for money! loved the fish cake
Great food and a super birthday celebration. 😀
Attentive service, good light lunch. Great wine selection. Always a high quality dining experience whether quick lunch or three course meal.
Always a consistently high standard of dining and service plus the place has a great atmosphere and is always full even during the week. Love it!
Very friendly team, keen to make us feel special. Food excellent, nothing too much trouble
Excellent setting, excellent food and incredible service, couldn't have asked for more. I'll be back
very impressed good food and excellent service
Regular visitors to the Chequers, never disappoints. Food and service faultless.
Gorgeous decor, fantastic views, and a warm welcome. The menu is imaginative, and the food delicious. I can recommend the pan fried cod, which was served with chive gnocchi and lemon oil, and was inspired. It was the perfect place to enjoy an early Mother's Day celebration. Thank you!
Lives up to its website. Can't add much more.
We are regular visitors to the Chequers but will be taking a long break before our next visit based on the meal we had recently. Out of 7 diners, only 1 was happy with their meal. Steaks were over cooked and had no flavour; sausages were too spicy and inedible (will accept that this is personal choice though); potato onion rosti was soggy and tomato and chive sauce was too thick for a sauce. Overall very disappointed on this occasion.
Overall very good food and service. The pudding on the specials was unusual and not to our taste.
Good service..nice location...good food...not cheap but worth it
Very good Sunday lunch
It was a very busy Saturday night, but still frustrating to be kept waiting at least half an hour after the booking time to be seated and then some time before ordering. However, the service was very friendly and helpful, if overworked; the food was all excellent. More restaurant prices than gastro pub.
Attentive staff, did not have to wait long before being served. Food excellent and good value for money. Will certainly go again.
Great lunch, good food and atmosphere
My husband & I had a lovely evening at the Chequers Inn, food was delicious & the staff were exceptional 😀😀
Sunday Roast lunch Beef chosen by three of our party. Meet and Yorkshire excellent. Vegetables a small amount of overcooked mush all shoved together in small serving dish. I love The Chequers but sharpen up the veg on a Sunday please (This is the second time I have mentioned this and many others agree with me)
We had a meal on Saturday night, which was a v/busy evening , we were deal with with v/well, the staff were attentive and the food was supurb . It was a pleasure too see some old friends in the restaurant, Ollie found the time to say hello and too advise us to take our table a little early, which worked v/well for us. The entire evening was pleasure a big thank you to all of the staff involved will return again q/soon Mike & Jools
Really good....as always.
The staff who served us on Sunday evening ensured we had a fabulous time. Thank you Chequers - we’ll be back!
