About The Cedar Rooms
The Cedar Rooms Restaurant " Dining Experience"
Is located within an old estate stone building, these rooms were historically lived in by the Estate Managers who looked after the extensive forestry and acres of land over its 400-year history.
One of our oldest trees on the estate, is the magnificent Cedar of Lebanon tree planted on Farnham Lawn and is circa 300 years old.
The ambiance and the decor in the restaurant is exceptional. Our waiter (Orla) was both polite and engaging. Will definitely be back.
We sat down at 8.30pm and didnt get our main course until 10.15pm. Not once did a member of staff explain about the delay which would of made the experience a lot better but there was no manager stepping up. One couple beside us left because of this. Food was nice a s setting lovely.
Food and service exceptional. We had the beef wellington and it was out of this world. Would highly recommend
Excellent menu providing excellent food. A great venue for that special evening
Sinead, Brian, Rebekah- excellent. Wine a little overpriced .
Kept receiving emails changing my reservation. Service good. Atmosphere ok ish. Some peculiar takes on the menu, sorbet served in a fish with a big chip at the top of it. Small things wrong, no one a big deal but too many of them
We were underwhelmed by our visit 😉. We felt it was a tad pretentious. Food was coolish .
Fantastic from start to finish. Keep up the great work folks!
Amazing dining experience! Michelin star calibre. Highly recommended it.
A great meal, with exceptional service
We had a lovely meal, very special experience.
One of the finest meals we’ve ever had. From start to finish the whole experience was flawless. And the service was second to none from our waitress. Nothing was ever a problem. We’ll be back.
Great food and service was brilliant. Can’t wait to return.
To be honest, I think it is very overpriced. My partner is vegan and I had notified the hotel and they said this would not be a problem and there would be sufficient vegan options on all menus. I was surprised when we arrived in the Cedar Room for my partner to be given the same options as the night beforehand in Maxwells Grill? The cedar room was €55 per head for 'Fine dining' yet my partner was just given the same options as the night before?? If it hadn't of been pre paid already we both would of walked out and went straight to Maxwells. This was extremely disappointing. Paying €55 per head is very expensive and the fact that the fine dining restaurant couldn't even come up with their own vegan options is madness?? I would not recommend the Cedar Rooms.
The prawn lobster bisque was awful.. the overall taste was extremely unpleasant and the prawn element was tasteless.... probably goes down as worst starter I have experienced in any restaurant.... The main courses were pleasant enough but not in anyway way outstanding ... the best meal on the table was that enjoyed by my 7 year old son ( a burger ) !! Overall not a pleasant eating experience....however the restaurant staff were very nice and a credit to the hotel by their attention, welcome and friendliness... They are let down by the very average food on offer and a Menu that fails to live up to its descriptions.
I love this restaurant- the stone walls, the layout, the circular shaped booths. Food is always amazing although not a whole lot of choice. Service if fantastic. A great dining experience
I think it would have been 5 stars all round, I was that impressed with the whole experience, but the wait staff while extremely pleasant and helpful where just a little too slow.
Wasn't so keen on the starters but really enjoyed the rest of the meal. The staff were all very pleasant but a little on edge and frantic walking and it created a little of a tense atmosphere. I think this was obvious to us because we were sat near the service area and till. Decor is fabulous and the fine dining experience was a true delight..Would highly reccomend the steak for two.
Staff very friendly. Food amazing. Desserts were divine!
Menu was advertised online. Based on this we decided to use the Cedar rooms. The menu outside in the reception area was the same as online. When we arrived we were given two different menus. These were withdrawn and a new menu was presented. A bit disconcerting but my wife had to struggle to find something that she liked. A little unprofessional. However our food when it arrived was lovely. Apart from that good.
We had a fabulous meal - celebrating a 90th birthday with all age groups present. Everyone was really impressed with the food and the presentation of each course - and the carnivores loved the chateaubriand with 3 lads sharing 2!! The service was very friendly and efficient and we would highly recommend the Cedar rooms.
Being a Coeliac I was concerned about the set menu but needn’t have worried, the staff were great, chef great, everything was adapted to suit. Thank you
From start to finish our eating experience was just perfect . Staff exceptional and a lovely added touch for my birthday. Would recommend a visit .
lovely restaurant and staff, Food was excellent. only complaint was the Guinness was very poor standard but would highly recommend !
Food and service excellent and great value for money.
