About The Cavendish Hotel Champagne & Seafood Terrace
Join us under canvas on the lawn at The Cavendish Hotel, Baslow where we combine socially distanced dining and mouthwatering light bites with your favourite summer tipple and views over open countryside. Taking full advantage of our peaceful corner of the Chatsworth Estate, we now offer a seafood and Champagne menu to welcome you back to an al-fresco dining experience like no other!
It was great to be able to go out to eat again - but very disappointingly the Cavendish failed to capture the moment. The setting is beautiful. The whole experience was wooden. There was no warmth, no feeling of hospitality, no generosity of spirit, no sense of occasion. The venue lacked personality. The food seemed to be the smallest portions which could be served for the price. A great opportunity for the Cavendish - but it completely failed to deliver. A great disappointment for the customer.
Exceptional service and beautiful location. Very disappointed we couldn’t get lobster as it’s advertised on the website still.
Excellent food and 1st class service. Would highly recommend this al fresco dining experience.
Beautiful set up and views for all weather types. Staff very friendly and polite. Music would have added to the atmosphere e.g string trio/ piano.
None. Just lovely weather would add to the whole experience but out of your control!
What a fantastic experience, from start to finish. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was amazing and the location beautiful. We will be definitely booking again.
Lovely food, beautiful setting and great staff!
There were not many diners on the day we visited, so there was not much atmosphere, however we had a great afternoon, thanks Iain
Boy it was cold but the staff did their best to make us comfortable. The food was delicious and very well presented. We will be back but maybe when it’s warmer 😎
Despite the chilly day we had comfy , warm seats thanks to a sheepskin throw and blanket each. Tables well spaced. Attentive staff and tasty food. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole dining experience!
My favourite place .. just fabulous
A warm welcome, thoughtful service and good food made the cold weather conditions palatable. Rugs much appreciated!
A trifle cold but we live in England. The experience was very enjoyable and look forward to repeating it in warmer weather.
Loved the seafood sharing platter but a bit heavy on potatoes and a bit mean on the salmon otherwise all very delicious- especially the potted curried shrimps
Was really good. Will be perfect in summer when it (hopefully) warms up a bit!
We really enjoyed our evening, yes it was a little cold but the heaters and throws kept it at bay, the staff were helpful, friendly and made sure we felt looked after and cared for, we are all definitely coming back.
Wonderful set up, wonderful food & drink! Staff attentive & knowledgeable but not too intrusive. Loved the sheepskin rugs & blankets to keep us warm in the cold. Can’t wait to return!
Waiter skills leave a lot to be desired. When booked, specifically requested to be by a heater ‘if possible’ and re asked this on arrival. Was told ‘sorry but the gas bottle is about to run out’ yet there were 2 tables directly next to us that had a heater blazing away, all the time empty tables. That was annoying whilst our gas heater was off through lack of gas. No offer to swap us was made, even if for the short time, silly waiter attitude didn’t help either.
A lovely lunch ... despite very poor weather. The staff were welcoming, attentive & professional . Thanks to all for a great experience in the journey towards a bit of normality .
We had a fabulous time with super service and lovely food. The platter was superb but the half lobster portion was a little meagre. The starters and desserts were fab with scallops cooked to perfection. The setting was lovely and the tent and heaters worked well. The young waiter with the dreadlocks was really polite and attentive. 10/10 to him sorry I don’t know his name!
The lobster sizes are getting so small ! Saturday night was the tiniest lobster 🦞 ever! Should never have been caught that tiny!!
Great experience- staff all wonderful and professional in Chatsworth livery. Food was great, lovely having chefs cooking al fresco with us. We will come back later in the day when weather warmer - all in all a very complete experience
Staff were polite and attentive . Food was wonderful and the surroundings are perfect
Really enjoyed ourselves - thank you! I’ve recommended The Cavendish twice today!
This was our second visit and enjoyed both very much. Great selection of dishes, excellent staff and gorgeous setting. Well done
