About The Cat's Pyjamas - Harrogate
The best Indian street food this side of Delhi.
After spotting a gap in the market, Leeds based Scottish entrepreneur Alison White set up the first Cat's Pyjamas in Headingley, Leeds. Our menu has been crafted by our talented chef team who crafted our menu with tantalising aromas and fragrant flavours to create food that will wake the taste buds. We celebrate Indian street food culture - the carts and street side vendors that dot the length and breadth of India’s regions, preserving age-old recipes whilst creating urban legends. Inspired by the hawker’s local dishes, Goa’s seafood shacks and the toddy shops of Kerala, every one of our dishes is infused with the passion of India’s cooks. We’re combining the energy from our bustling kitchen with vibrant decor to evoke the colours, chaos and craziness of India and create a fun, easy-going, dynamic atmosphere.
We’re bringing the best Indian street food this side of Delhi to the heart of Harrogate.
I was so impressed with the staff, they were so welcoming and so lovely, they could not do enough for you and it was so busy yet such a nice atmosphere
Nice memories of travelling
They were able to accommodate a table of 10 at a prime eating time on a Friday evening. The service was swift and everyone was pleasant, the food was delicious and great value, will definitely recommend.
The food was fantastic and our table of seven all had a great time. Our server was a little stretched but she did a superb job regardless and we’ll definitely be returning - many thanks!
Service was absolutely shocking! Repeatedly had to keep asking to make an order, for the bill etc etc but food was amazing !
Fantastic service the staff were all great. Food lovely and tasty. Good price and love the venue /atmosphere... have already recommended to friends and family.
Unfortunately service was terrible. 15 minute wait for a drink and another 25 for poppadoms. Then less than 5 minutes after receiving the poppadoms the main courses were brought over... Manager very apologetic and took some items off the bill though. It was such a shame as the food was delicious.
Very nice din dins.
Great service. very friendly waiter and host. Awesome food. Recommend highly
This is my 5th visit to Harrogate Cats PJs. The food was exceptional as always, however the poor service lets this place down. The restaurant was around 60% full and our food order wasnt taken until 30 minutes AFTER our drinks arrived, we even had to prompt the waiter to come and take our order.
Really enjoyable evening and meal...thank you
Really lovely meal
Despite visiting on a Wednesday evening when restaurant was a third occupied, the food service was slow. Whilst our starters were prompt the main courses arrived piecemeal and we had to return some as they went cold before the rice & sides arrived. Couldn’t see what the “USP” for this restaurant was. Limited menu and if you want an Indian then go to an Indian restaurant. Also rather strange decor, lots of graffiti, especially in Rest Room area.
It was a quiet Sunday evening after a trip to the cinema but the food and service was excellent. Can’t wait to go back and try some more dishes. Makes a great change from the old fashioned, traditional ‘curry house’.
Very friendly good food
I can’t fault the food, your onion bhajis are the best I’ve ever tasted. Service needs to improve a little - on our last visit, our waitress forgot to bring cutlery, we were given the wrong nan bread and no one asked if we wanted more drinks. And, when your clientele are in their late 50s, please ask your staff to refrain from saying “you guys”. Tweak this and you have the perfect experience.
It was a very wet night, no place to put coats, so we had to sit with them.
We come back time and time again to The Cat's Pyjamas because the food is consistently good. The service is always friendly, too. And it's excellent value. Only thing I would change is the chairs, which depending where you are seated, are not the most comfortable. But apart from that, The Cat's Pyjamas is great. It's got the formula right and it's sticking to it.
I had your Dabba chicken dish when you first opened. The meat was on the bone, and this dish was tasty and authentic. Why have you switched to breast meat? It is nowhere near as good!
Attentive staff that did everything they possibly could to make sure everyone had a good evening. Food was perfect and although a short wait for our second round of drinks (which they were quick to apologise for). Some of the best service I've had in a long time in Harrogate.
Amazing food, lots of vegan and veg options and real good beer
It was an exciting restaurant to go to since all of our friends were recommending it but sadly it was disappointing. The food wasn't very nice but the currys were ok. Also the staff serving us were nice and welcoming but during the meal it seemed like only two or three waiters were working, the other two were chatting for about 10 minutes even though there were tables to be cleaned.
We waited over an hour between starter and mains. The manager was apologetic and discounted our bill. Good food and pleasant people.
Service is very friendly and the food was outstanding. The kids deal is great and they were very welcome. Can’t wait to go back.
