About The Cat's Pyjamas - Eastgate
The best Indian street food this side of Delhi
Leeds based Scottish entrepreneur Alison White set up the second Cat's Pyjamas in Leeds. She worked closely with Alfred Prasad, the youngest Indian chef to ever receive a Michelin star, who crafted our menu with tantalising aromas and fragrant flavours to create food that will wake the taste buds. We celebrate Indian street food culture - the carts and street side vendors that dot the length and breadth of India’s regions, preserving age-old recipes whilst creating urban legends. Inspired by the hawker’s local dishes, Goa’s seafood shacks and the toddy shops of Kerala, every one of our dishes is infused with the passion of India’s cooks. We’re bringing the best Indian street food this side of Delhi to the heart of Headingley & Leeds.
Good night out with good atmosphere and food. Service could have been improved as all members of party not all served at same time, but still personable Quality and quantity of food made up for it
Excellent food and service from the friendliness server.
It was a great night! Booking process was smooth, service and food ste great
Great costumer service and best Indian!!
Really enjoyed our meal. Place was really busy so half expected a delay for our table but was pleasently surprised we went straight to our table. Food was superb staff really friendly and helpful. Was nice to get a beer on the house for my birthday. Great place will definitely be back.
Good food & atmosphere.
Food was amazing and the staff were really attentive even though it was unbelievably busy.
I was looking forward to coming as the restaurant had been recommended by a friend. However, I was disappointed for a number of reasons: - poor front of house - lady on front desk didn’t greet us, she just asked if we had a booking. She then disappeared for 10 mins and then returned asking if we had been seen to. Yes I said, by you. Unfriendly and inefficient - the cats pyjamas pilsner had run out - there were no wine glasses due to an ‘accident’ - our popodums and pickel tray didn’t turn up - then appeared on the bill. The table next to us also had two wrong items on their bill - the mango desert had run out
Lovely food and excellent service- warm welcome and the right amount if attentiveness. The communal toilets let it down- advice separate male and female as the male aspect left a smell !
Really nice food, great service
We didn't have the best experience. There was a hair in our curry and the curry was quickly replaced but the plate removed contained rice and naan which was not. The service was very slow and somewhat impersonal. We also received an incorrect drink and had to wait a long time for water to be served.
Great food and atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!
Food very bland, tables are too close to each other. Quite expensive for what it is...you could get a cheaper curry next door! (Arkbars)
First visit and it won’t be our last. Loved it! Thank you!!
Great place to eat with good range of beers and fantastic food.
Great. Second visit and will be back. The food is exciting and to have such a choice real ale is a winner, and so u usual. Will be back.
Great restaurant with a buzzing atmosphere (if you are sat downstairs). Great quality food at a very reasonable price.
Great service and fabulous fresh, fresh food x Taking the Friday night eat out way higher than it has been - good luck to you! Great to see you coming to York? xx
