About The Cat's Pyjamas
The best Indian street food this side of Delhi.
After spotting a gap in the market, Leeds based Scottish entrepreneur Alison White set up the first Cat's Pyjamas in Headingley. She worked closely with Alfred Prasad, the youngest Indian chef to ever receive a Michelin star, who crafted our menu with tantalising aromas and fragrant flavours to create food that will wake the taste buds. We celebrate Indian street food culture - the carts and street side vendors that dot the length and breadth of India’s regions, preserving age-old recipes whilst creating urban legends. Inspired by the hawker’s local dishes, Goa’s seafood shacks and the toddy shops of Kerala, every one of our dishes is infused with the passion of India’s cooks. We’re combining the energy from our bustling kitchen with vibrant decor to evoke the colours, chaos and craziness of India and create a fun, easy-going, dynamic atmosphere.
We’re bringing the best Indian street food this side of Delhi to the heart of Headingley & Leeds.
Absolutely amazing experience. Food was amazing and the service was really good. I can't wait to go back!
Hello Alexandra, Thank you very much for the positive feedback from your recent dining experience with us- it really means a lot! We are glad you enjoyed your time with us and we hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, The Cat’s Pyjamas
Delicious food, lovely staff and genuinely great value for money which is really unusual! We’ll definitely come back.
The food was great and good value. The kids meals were a good size but the chips were slightly too heavily seasoned. Only a minor thing Fab place to go and we will be back
Hello Stephen, Thank you very much for the positive feedback from your recent dining experience with us- it really means a lot! We are glad you enjoyed your time with us and we hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, The Cat’s Pyjamas
Overall a really good experience. The only negative were the poppadoms which were chewy & tasted stale. Apart from that the food, service, atmosphere and service were great.
Hello Penny, Thank you very much for the feedback from your recent dining experience with us- it really means a lot! However, I am really sorry to hear the poppadoms weren't crispy. Did you mention this to your waiter? If so, I hope they replaced them for you. We are glad you enjoyed your time with us and we hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, The Cat’s Pyjamas
Great service- great drinks- good food & atmosphere.
First time visiting with my mum after ages of wanting to go and hearing good things. Service was great, food was delicious, plenty of veggie options for myself. Only tiny critisism is that some of my mums chicken was a bit too pink to eat, other than that, would visit again!
Good food, cheerful staff and good atmosphere
Just as good, if not better, than its Leeds city centre venue, staff genuinely happy and friendly which made the atmosphere lovely and relaxed. The food was obviously brilliant!
Great food ...small menu but excellent quality. Great choice of craft beers.
Very nice laid back atmosphere, excellent food
Nice and relaxed with fantastic tasting food will be back again very soon
Amazing food and good value.
Well worth a visit. Very tasty food and good beer. What’s not to like?
Lovely and relaxed. Delicious food. Nice and low key not pretentious or fussy. Families, couples, friends all dining...
I’ve been here a few times with different family members and all were very happy with the food and atmosphere, everyone will return again
Pickle tray not as good as last time we went. Ordered two kids meals and had to ask for their starter and deserts (only brought main) assume this is a tactic to boost profits as some people will forget/not ask... then to add insult we were over charged (they charged the kids elements separately rather than as a combined price.... A number of beers were sold out, this has happened a few times. EVERYTHING was HOT no mild options to give you a break....
Spot on!! My 8yr old thought it was the bees knees!! Asked why it was called the cats pyjamas 🤣
Service could be better
We had an absolutely lovely evening, thank you! This is food that has been carefully, even respectfully thought through - yet with zing and fizz...it was exciting! You made us very welcome and we look forward to coming back soon for more - and some draught beer!
Great food, friendly staff.
The food was amazing!
Unfortunately there was no gas for Draft beer. My friend found along hair in their dish which was changed immediately and a fresh one delivered free of charge. Then told at the end card machine wasn’t working so had to go to get cash which I would have got prior to sitting down
We've never had any problems before but only having one member of serving staff on for a busy tea time session isn't the best thought out plan.
Ordered poppadoms which hadn't arrived when our main course appeared. Waitress highly apologetic. Delicious food & v good value. Sorry that you had run out of mango lassi, but you were probably saving me from myself.
