About The Cat's Pyjamas
The best Indian street food this side of Delhi.
After spotting a gap in the market, Leeds based Scottish entrepreneur Alison White set up the first Cat's Pyjamas in Headingley. She worked closely with Alfred Prasad, the youngest Indian chef to ever receive a Michelin star, who crafted our menu with tantalising aromas and fragrant flavours to create food that will wake the taste buds. We celebrate Indian street food culture - the carts and street side vendors that dot the length and breadth of India’s regions, preserving age-old recipes whilst creating urban legends. Inspired by the hawker’s local dishes, Goa’s seafood shacks and the toddy shops of Kerala, every one of our dishes is infused with the passion of India’s cooks. We’re combining the energy from our bustling kitchen with vibrant decor to evoke the colours, chaos and craziness of India and create a fun, easy-going, dynamic atmosphere.
We’re bringing the best Indian street food this side of Delhi to the heart of Headingley & Leeds.
Amazing food, service, staff and atmosphere!!!
Thought it was closed at first as the ground floor was completely empty at 8pm Sunday Was busy upstairs where we were seated. If we hadn’t booked we would have just assumed it closed and gone elsewhere The food and service were excellent as usual
Amazing, as always.
Excellent as always! Amazing food and service! recommend to all our friends! :)
Great food and drink. Thanks
Great food and service
Fabulous food, excellent value for money.
Good food as always, but it was fucking freezing downstairs
Friendly and relaxed service. Very good food.
Very good service and amazing food
I was so disappointed with my meal, such a shame after I had heard good things about it. After having travelled to India I was looking forward to tasting the menu! The curry did not taste fresh was not value for money and our order was wrong. When I questioned I was told I haven't ordered hat I had then had to wait for it whilst my other food got cold. I have bought better take away curries from marks and spencer that have a more authentic taste and flavour. I will not be recommending the restaurant to anyone.
Two days later and we still can’t get our heads around how good the food was, hands down the best Indian food anywhere! Great atmosphere, great staff and incredible food.
Brilliant atmosphere, brilliant service, reasonable drinks prices, quality food. My only issue is, that if ordering a starter, they're not amazing value for money.
Fantastic food as always and great beer too. The staff also gave brilliant and friendly service. We'll keep coming back!
The drinks menu needs extending for soft drinks such as traditionally mango juice, this is the third time when there was no mango lassi and the apple juice ran out. The food was amazing as always. The service of the people providing it was brilliant but they could have done with another set of hands for sure.
Food and service was excellent, wish could have left a tip but card payment had gone through and didn't have any cash so felt awful leaving without giving one as the food and man serving us was excellent. Exactly the service you expect when eating out, we will definitely be back, best curry we have had!
This visit was our second time, this time with the monthly curry club. Again the food was excellent and the service was very good.
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere!!
We come to the Cat's PJs regularly and are never disappointed. The food is always excellent and the service efficient and friendly. Keep it up, guys! P.S. the Kirkstall Framboise beer is amazing
Manager was great, really friendly & welcoming. Food was excellent overall but maybe just a little over spiced. There were 7 of us & all food came out together & everyone said we would return.
Really good return visit. The starters of tandoori prawns, lamb chops and chicken tikka all very good indeed. Mains good too. Service excellent as ever as was the beer. The place was full and noisy but all the better for that.
Friendly service and atmosphere. The food is consistently delicious everytime we visit!
Fantastic food and service reasonably priced too. Tandoori prawn as a starter was the best I’ve had!! Puddings a little lacking. Great beer/ale selection.
