Dean and all staff that served us Friday eve (17th May) were very friendly. Had a lovely eve with friends :))
Had a fabulous day the venue and atmosphere was excellent. Great food and service. Couldn’t fault it. Thanks to Adam and the team for making our special occasion very special. Would recommend again and again.
It's great to know you enjoyed your time with the team. Thank you for your review Emma. Best wishes from us all.
Very enjoyable meal served in nice surroundings by friendly staff. Will definitely be back when in the area!
All was lovely apart from having three dogs in the dining room. One was on the seat and another put it's paws on the table and was getting in the way of the staff. Only one sat under the table.
Fabulous service and the food was amazing and deffinately homemade to order. Very pleased and satisfied.
Always a nice place for dinner. Improvements in the last year are huge.
Warm welcome, comprehensive and innovative menu, friendly service made our visit for dinner most ennoble and we will return soon. Thank you.
Dear Derek - We are very grateful for your feedback and will pass your thanks to the whole of the team.
Excellent food. 4 happy customers
The menu needs to be refreshed a bit. Good food but we could do with some more variety
The appetiser was missed. Great Ribs, greasy fish batter. The ravioli was very tasty however just warm. The restaurant was very busy and service quite slow. Friendly and gracious staff.
lovely food just a bit overpriced.
Was put in the horsebox and as it was a beautiful day felt a little cut off. Soup cold, mains came out too quickly before starters has been cleared away. Food mediocre to be honest. Won’t rush back.
Dear Julie - I am sorry your meal was not as good as it should have been. Thank you for alerting us to what needed to be better so we can take appropriate action. Regards, Sam Roffe, The Castle Inn, Spofforth.
The spofforth in is everything we are looking for, a lovely, beautiful pub country which welcomes dogs and are so disappointed that it seems completely incapable as functioning as a restaurant. Every single time we have been which is several, the service is appallingly slow, the food is always wrong. Last visit it took one hour 45 mins for a horrible dry cesear salad. We were offered a complimentary round of drinks as an apology - which took 20 minutes to come. The restaurant was not full and it was busy as a pib should expect and cater for on an Easter weekend. It’s just appallingly run and just not good enough. It’s the end of a brilliant dog walk wetherby to spoffarth and I would love this to be a good pub, but it has continuously proved to be dreadful. This weekend was it’s last chance and as per it it spectacularly rose to the occasion to proven itself rubbish.
Dear Helen - I apologise for the fact that you yet again did not experience our normal, high standards of service. All your feedback will be discussed and acted on. Thank you for taking the time to alert us to what needed to be better during your visit. Regards, Sam Roffe, The Castle Inn, Spofforth.
There was very little choice in the menu. My food was cool. They had run out of various items. The prices were high. We are a group of ladies who have eaten together regularly for 10 years, this was our worst experience ever.
Dear Susan - I am very sorry that your experience with us was not good enough. We will discuss your feedback with our kitchen team and will look in detail at what needed to be better. Thank you for alerting us. Best wishes. Sam Roffe, The Castle Inn.
Lovely atmosphere the staff were really friendly and the food was great plus it’s dog friendly which makes it even better ...
Very relaxed evening - great food with superb service!
Excellent service from the staff during our meeting followed by our lunch.
I would say it was all ok- I would go back as the actual building; layout, decor etc is really nice
Had a really lovely evening. Excellent service and great food. It’s so great to have this venue on our doorstep. Liked sitting in the carpeted area it was more cosy and comfortable.
We had a most enjoyable evening. The Staff were very polite and helpful. The meal was very good and excellent value.
Very friendly staff helpful and attentive.
We visited the area over the weekend and had dinner twice, my partner and I had 4 different dishes between us each one was fantastic. We also had breakfast on Sunday morning again faultless I would highly recommend the Castle Inn.
Really lovely! Great pub; tasteful interior and tasty food! Very friendly ambience - totally relaxing - dogs thought so too!
Lovely setting great service and delicious food.
Undercooked fish (soggy batter) with overcooked chips - how on earth can you get such a basic dish so wrong?
Dear Julian - I am very sorry your meal was not good enough. I hope you were able to alert our Front of House team during your visit. We will always try to put problems right if we can. Thank you for taking the time to let us know what needed to be better. Regards, Sam Roffe, The Castle Inn.
