About The Castle Inn, Spofforth
The Castle Inn is a lovely pub restaurant that offers excellent food, a fine selection of drinks and a very warm welcome. You can enjoy meals in a relaxed bar, lovely dining room and covered courtyard.
Expect dishes influenced by the seasons, with high quality ingredients sourced from local suppliers. Our main menu is available from 12noon Monday to Saturday. Sunday is a delicious Roast day with additional fish, vegetarian and 'Special' dishes to choose from.
Beautiful small private dining room
Nice environment but the food service was very slow (we waited one and half hours for our food to arrive). Staff friendly and apologetic and did acknowledge the delay. A discount was offered which we appreciated. Food quality only average. Hoping this was an isolated incident.
Loverly night out for a nice meal different from your normal pub would go back again
We stayed at The Castle on the 21st of December in the Skipton room which was very comfortable and tastefully decorated.We also booked a table for a meal and although the restaurant was busy with xmas parties the service and food was excellent .We will definitely be going back later this year,it is a very warm and welcoming place.
Despite having pre-ordered 22 meals the day prior to the meal which was booked in at 1pm the food didn't start to arrive until an hour later! 2pm!! 12 of our party were children, that despite the lack of food were extremely well behaved. Even then the adults were served first and most had finished their meals before the kids were even served theirs.

We used the castle twice over the Christmas holiday period once for a party of 22 people and once for a party of 10. The large party was just before Christmas and the smaller party was just after Christmas. On both occasions everything went well, the staff were delightful, and were very helpful all the time; and the food was good. We would like to thank the manager and his staff for making both occasions really enjoyable and memorable. A big thanks to Adam and all the staff. The Costas
Served with friendly welcome by Molly Farmer. She was an excellent efficient waitress who delivered delicious meals to our table 71. We had a great menu selection and i highly recommend The Castle Inn .. excellent atmosphere brilliant place to visit . Huge thanks and especially to Molly Farmer .

Really welcoming staff and lovely place to dine. Only suggestion would be to introduce a vegan option on the menu. Otherwise, fantastic and would definitely recommend to others!

Everything was very good but I do feel that the prices are a little high for the starters and main courses. Kids dessert options are a but confusing as well.

The bar is chaotic with one person serving while very busy. There were enough staff in the restaurant but no coordination, standing around not knowing what to do as a private room was being setup when we arrived at the desk. Food was just OK. The teak Tables are stained and sticky, could do with a good scrub or sand. Not nearly as good as when it opened. Won’t be back.

Service was great on Christmas Day, nice meal, full to the brim when we left.
The service and general hospitality was good and the food satisfactory, however the fish starter and sprouts were over cooked .... whilst we had a most enjoyable time we thought it expensive at £90 per head.

The only negative comment I have is around the booking system. I booked for what I thought was 7.30 pm and it turns out it was 7.30am! Fortunately we were able to get in. Whilst I realise this was my error I understood it happen quite often. I think the booking form needs to be made clearer, maybe split the options ie Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner bookings.

Fantastic Place. We went with a large party of adults and kids, we pre-ordered our food which was all excellent. we got upgraded to a private dining room which was lovely. the atmosphere and service was fantastic. We will be back.
First time we have been since the refurb. Very impressed and we will be back soon.
I booked a table for lunch ar 12.30 but our food didn’t arrive until 2.20. The waitresses were apologetic as it wasn’t their fault and we weren’t charged for our drinks but it was definitely an unacceptable wait. There was a large party in a side room and the kitchen obviously couldn’t cope. If that is the case you shouldn’t book tables you are unable to deal with. It was a pity because the food, when it did finally arrive was good.
