About The Carvery
This local restaurant first opened its doors in 2001, and your hosts Karen and Mark, along with their kitchen and front of house teams, have been offering a warm welcome to regulars and tourists ever since. The Carvery is well known for its good quality fresh food, excellent service and comfortable surroundings.
Offering a selection of roasted meats including delicious roast beef, ham, turkey, lamb and pork with all the trimmings. There is a wide choice of freshly prepared seasonal vegetables, roast and mashed potatoes and the best Yorkshire puddings. The menu offers a range of starters including classic prawn cocktail, goat’s cheese and beetroot salad, Caesar salad and Chicken Liver Pate. Main courses include Argentinian Angus sirloin steak, traditional fish & chips and delicious salads. Save room for home-made puddings including crème brulee, apple crumble and Pavlova to name a few (change daily).
The restaurant is light and airy, with air conditioning throughout, and offers a beautiful naturally lit glassed in terrace that gives you the feeling of sitting outside whilst remaining cool. This room is perfectly situated for private parties, everything from golf dinners, family celebrations, small weddings and more. The recent move has allowed for a comfortable bar where guests can enjoy a drink before or after dinner, or just pop in for a glass of wine and bar snack.
The Carvery, Montemar prides itself on being child friendly and has a well-appointed playroom so the children can go off and play, make new friends and watch the likes of Paw Patrol whilst the adults enjoy their meal in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The décor offers a stunning wall of plants in the terrace. Huge lamps that were reclaimed from the entrance to the Suez Canal can be found in the restaurant, alongside artwork and sculptures from artists Polly Hope, Theo Crosby and Dido Crosby.
An extremely fab evening at every level....never disappointed and a wonderful experience
We've been several time and were very pleased so far, but not this time as the service was not smooth and not at all professional, the meats were dry and we have had to wait a very long time for a starter which doesn't need cooking or preparation the liver pate and yet again a very long time to get 2 toasts to go with it. Our friends had finished their main course we still hadn't finished our starters. So no this time was neither nice nor good, we did not spend a good evening. Pull yourselves together: all these new waitresses do not fit in and obviously it's a pain for them to work so change them! We will take some time before going back if we do.
Food is always top quality & as much as you can eat on the carvery side, always a pleasure eating here as I have been every year for the last 8 years, & hopefully more to come.
Fourth visit, we are from Belgium but stay in Spain during the winter. Great restaurant, quality food. See you in october !
The carvery is also consistent with quality... 10/10 all the time
Fantastic. As always
Perfect as always
I visit here as often as possible as it’s about 40 minutes away from me. But it’s worth the journey and it never disappoints. The roast is delicious and the service is friendly and it’s one of mine and my husbands favourite restaurants 😀
Such value for money (excellent carvery) - didn't realise just how lamb could melt in your mouth. Staff lovely and very helpful in explaining menu available for those with allergies; vegans, vegetarians and with lactose intolerance.
Amazing as always! Best roast on the coast.
As always, every meal I have had at the carvery has been incredible. Keep it up team !
I took a group of 17 seniors to dine with me They were impressed by the quality of food, the excellent service and awesome pricing We will return!
Très bon rapport qualité/prix. Nous y sommes allés 3 fois durant notre séjour de 5 semaines.
Booked a table for two for the Sunday Carvery, the food was excellent, service great. Staff were attentive in just the right measure, will definetly be going back a wonderfull dining experience.
Celebrated my 65th Birthday there, had a wonderful time. Food delicious as always, Justine a wonderful host, made my birthday a special event.
The Carvery continues to evolve and never disappoints. On this visit we were accompanied by a Marks and Spencer chef who ranked the Carvery higher than any he has eaten in in England!
Best carvery ever!
Sorry but I still think the puds are overpriced but wouldn't stop us going back.
Great as always
Excellent Sunday roast, could not fault food or service.
