About The Camberwell Arms

The Camberwell Arms is a neighbourhood restaurant offering the best quality produce at affordable prices.
The food at The Camberwell Arms is rooted in high quality produce and simple cookery. Using the best seasonally available fruit and vegetables, dry aged native-breed meat and sustainably caught fish, and our charcoal grill, the menu is a mixture of classic and delicious dishes that fundamentally we want to eat. We make virtually everything we sell in house including all our own butchery.
Sharing plates are a big part of what we do, from our own suet pastry crusted pies to herb fed rotisserie chickens and large steaks.
All round outstanding!
Brussel sprout bar snacks and the burrata and artichoke starter were cold- we weren't sure if that was deliberate-and not that nice. Crab soup and mussels were lovely. Trout was excellent, as was foccacia bread. Staff were charming.
We loved it!
Food and service was amazing!
Lovely evening. Great food.
Can’t wait to come back great food great service great atmosphere
Very enjoyable good vibes
Loved it! Only downside:no yorkshire pudding. Best pork belly ever though!
Great food and service as ever. The sprout dish was particularly popular! Thanks
Great service, great food-consistently good!
Nice vibe and great food
always reliably delicious and great service
Amazing food as always and great service. I’ll definitely be back. The roaring fire on a cold Monday night was an added bonus.
Amazing food, great wine - even the cheapest red which we shared a carafe of! Really friendly service and accommodating with our 18 month old baby. Didn’t once feel like we were an inconvenience bringing her with us!! THE PIE IS EPIC.
Wonderful!! Really lovely staff and an amazing meal. They were really knowledgeable about the wine choices and made us feel really welcome... Amazing great!!
Genuinely one of my favorite meals of my life. The service was amazing, the food was incredible. Highly recommended.
Absolutely delicious meal and great service.
We visited the restaurant for Sunday lunch on the 28th October. We were a family of 8, wanting to celebrate our daughter's 30th birthday. We had booked weeks in advance. It was not the special occasion we had hoped for. I think the pub was too busy- it felt like you had overreached yourself. The staff were extremely pleasant- there are no complaints about them - but they were clearly rushed- with too many people to serve. So the extra touches were missing. Even though we had balloons for example, the staff did not mention the birthday at all. Also, although we ordered the sesame ice cream for 2, we were served the mint, without an apology, or for the waitress to ask if that was ok. It wasn't - one of them did not like mint. Just another sign of her being overstretched. Although having to wait to be seated, we were also asked to rush at the end, even though we were enjoying dessert and coffee. Last time we were here as a family of 8, we really enioyed it. We were not rushed and it was pleasant. This time we felt like we were at a fast food joint - but not with fast food prices! I am not normally critical with restaurant reviews but I did feel that this time there was perhaps an element of greed over customer satisfaction, which will make me think again before returning.
Fantastic Sunday roast!
Everything was great although my parents would have appreciated assistance with cutting the chicken they shared! Otherwise excellent - thanks very much.
Really lovely dining experience
Sunday lunch needs to be improved a little, chose this place based on the fact it is meant to be one of the best roasts in London. We had the Onglet which was delicious but two things were missing and that was Gravy and Yorkshire puddings. The focaccia and onions were amazing as a starter. I would say it's good place for a long lunch but not for your typical Sunday roast. Having said that the food was amazing and amazingly well cooked!
We were a party of nine celebrating two birthdays. Everyone was full of compliments. The service and atmosphere was excellent. The special dish, beef shin for six, was outstanding. It is a great place, especially for parties and large groups.
The food was brilliant - the cured salmon was out of this world, chips were crispy and cooked to perfection, and breads, dips and spreads amazing. The staff were fantastic - friendly, quick and dilligent! We had the private room upstairs and it was perfect for our gathering of 40! Huge thanks to the whole team for a perfect birthday party - highly recommended! We will be back!
