The Burlington has the classical and traditional style of a country house hotel with a fresh and exciting menu offering from our head chef . We are delighted to showcase the culinary expertise of one of the UK's most talented young chefs. Our seasonal tasting menu is a stunning & mouth watering treat you simply must try - let him surprise you with his choice of stunning dishes. Despite the formality the warm and friendly welcome along with amazing service will make you feel totally relaxed during your amazing dining experience.
Afternoon Tea is served daily at sittings at 1.30pm & 3.30pm
We had the Burlington Experience with the recommended wines which we thoroughly enjoyed however it was on the expensive side - over £350
Beautiful meal, attentive yet relaxed service. Made our special occasion truly memorable!
A really delicious afternoon tea in a comfortable and relaxing setting. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Excellent food - so many flavours on each plate and exceptional service.
Fantastic meal, brilliant quality of food and very attentive knowledgeable service.
Very enjoyable afternoon
The dining room is a formal space, but the experience of dining is very comfortable, warm and relaxing. Tables are spacious but very well spaced so that there is a pleasant buzz of conversations rather than any intrusion. We have eaten here a number of times and choose the three course option but really appreciate the additional ‘courses’ provided. The food is always of the very highest standard, imaginative and beautifully presented. Service is wonderful.....efficient and very friendly but not intrusive. Always a first class experience.
We had an amazing service from start to finish. The food and presentation awesome. Thank you
How The Burlington does not have several Michelin stars, I do not know. Fabulous food, equal to establishments that I have experienced recently like La Gavroche, Lympstone Manor, Gidleigh Park, La Manoir aux quat Davison’s and the waterside Inn at Bray. Absolutely exquisite!
An outstanding dining experience, food beautifully prepared and served.
An excellent meal with very attentive staff.
Classy countryside dining experience. Inmaculate food and service and very tasty. Staff full of character. Perfect evening BT 2019
Enjoyed immensely. Excellent service. Food and drink lovely
Fantastic meal with excellent, attentive service in a lovely setting!
The meal was outstanding with food of the highest qu,with and some amazing taste sensations. Portions were perfect. The trout and halibut which I ordered were beautifully presented and full of flavour. Erving was excellent and above all not intrusive but helpful. The additional amuse Bouche and tasters were a real treat. Only slight disappointment was in my dessert which I would have preferred as dark chocolate- a minor flaw. We would certainly book again and look forward to doing so, Jane Pratt
The Tasting Menu was an amazing experience. We enjoyed every morsel!!
My first experience of a Tasting Menu, and I loved it. The welcoming, relaxing decor made me feel settled and warm. The food was excellent. Great combinations of subtle and strong flavours and everything worked for me. Very pleased and looking forward to going again.
This was our second afternoon tea at The Devonshire. The food was lovely, staff helpful and the surroundings lovely.
Enjoyed Afternoon Tea in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Will be returning.
All the staff were courteous and ever helpful to ensure our stay would be forever memorable. A special thank you to the dining room staff who put in a tremendous amount of work yet remain at the top of their game looking after all of us guests no matter what the hour
This is not a budget experience. This is truly what executive life is about.. and whilst the charge may seem high at first glance... what you get for your money is true value. You are treated like the elite. You will dine, sleep, spa, rest with everything pre planned for you.. at a superior standard that you deserve. We celebrated our engagement here and we could ask for no more... remembered, upgraded, and complimentary additions from pure humanity without any feeling we were being taken advantage of like some imitations will prey on. First class at a price when you realise what you get that frankly was understated upon booking. We thank all the staff for making the experience truly memorable... Future Mr and Mrs Parkinson
Superb food with amazing flavours - we had the Vegetarian tasting menu. I love the service at The Burlington - very efficient, not at all stuffy, and a good dose of Yorkshire humour. Atmosphere is relaxed - was just very quiet on the evening we visited.
We had a terrible evening, poor services and the food was not good. We could not pick a dish we liked, normally we are trying to work out which one we liked the most! I spoke to James the manager and he explained how it was our fault for the poor services, as we had gone for drinks TO EARLY? He also explained that the food was perfect and it was my wife and I that had no taste. We will not be returning to the hotel and I will be very pro active in letting people know how bad our night was. After speaking to the manager I realise you do not care about the opinion of your guests and the few people that will not go when they hear about our experience is not going to effect your business. I just think you should be ashamed, and James should be sent on a course to help him deal with people and apologise for mistakes, rather than blaming the guests.
A most enjoyable experience
