About The Burlington Restaurant
The Burlington has the classical and traditional style of a country house hotel with a fresh and exciting menu offering from our head chef . We are delighted to showcase the culinary expertise of one of the UK's most talented young chefs. Our seasonal tasting menu is a stunning & mouth watering treat you simply must try - let him surprise you with his choice of stunning dishes. Despite the formality the warm and friendly welcome along with amazing service will make you feel totally relaxed during your amazing dining experience.
Afternoon Tea is served daily at sittings at 1.30pm & 3.30pm
Our wedding anniversary was spent 1 night in the hotel and an evening in the Burlington feasting on the 9 course taster experience with matching wines. Chris the barman started the evening by making some superb drinks and Jordan the waiter continuing the great atmosphere and customer service throughout the evening .you get for what pay for and the food was out of this world, needless to say we will be going back in the near future
One of the best meals we have had. Efficient and knowledgeable service. Beautifully presented food was a taste sensation. The choice of wine was extensive although most were rather expensive (£60+)
Really enjoyed the whole experience
A very relaxed but well organised service, staff were very friendly and obliging with any request eg toast with tomato sauce for our grandson who as Down Syndrome and Autism So thank you for that
Perfect food perfect service
My sister, our 2 daughters and Mum enjoyed a relaxing afternoon having afternoon tea in the conservatory. There was a good choice of teas, coffee, savoury items and patisserie. The table and food were set out beautifully and the service team were professional yet friendly.
Excellent tea for two
Maybe needed some form of music in the background in the dining area to give the atmosphere a bit more of a relaxed sense as it was just the sound of low conversation and scraping of cutlery you could hear whilst eating . Even if it's just instruments or classical.
Absolutely brilliant. The staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The food was beautifully presented and delicious, and the surroundings and atmosphere were a delight. Its just a pity that as I live so far away I have to restrict my visits to holiday breaks.
A very small point: the wonderful, imaginative food is worthy of a nice linen tablecloth rather than just the polished wood table. Although we opted just for the three course menu, by the time we had the bar snacks with our aperitif, the generous canapés, the amuse bouche and the pre-dessert we felt we had had a tasting menu! Chris, our waiter, was very professional but happy to chat too.
We really enjoyed our afternoon tea and a big thank you to James O'Donnell for the invitation
Excellent service and exquisite food. You get what you pay for.
Well presented and of high Quality. We were overfaced but replete
Four of us tried the vegan tasting menu, last week. The food was absolutely incredible. To create such a huge range and depth of flavours without the use of butter, cream or cheese was a real testament to the abilities of the kitchen. I would highly recommend even non vegans trying this menu. I cannot rate this more highly. Having dined out a lot ( not vegan), I can honestly say that the chocolate and cherry pudding was the best pudding I have ever eaten.
We'll be back! It was delicious and the "theatre" of the staff explaining each dish as it was served certainly added to the experience.
it was our 30th wedding anniversary and we could not have asked for a better evening, everything was perfect.
Service was impeccable and the food perfect.
We have eaten a few times at the Devonshire and this was as good as ever. Staff as always knowledgeable and the experience is more relaxed than you think it could be.
A pleasant experience in lovely surroundings. The staff seemed rather nervous and it maybe that they were trainees. The food was tasty without having a wow factor, the exception being the Bakewell Tart which was a sight to behold and tingled the tastebuds!
Fabulous setting, amazing food and wonderful service. Will definitely be back again soon.
Super attention to detail and the explanation to each course. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Service was excellent. Culminating in a very enjoyable dining experience. Will be returning hopefully soon. The one that had room for improvement was the coffee at breakfast.
Wonderful food and great service
Service felt quite slow and despite booking with 'Fizz', we had to wait quite some time and then find a member of staff to pour us a glass of champagne (it wasn't provided at the start or when Afternoon Tea arrived to the table), and offer us the bill at the end.
Absolutely faultless, everything from the amazingly friendly and chatty front of house team to the outstanding job the kitchen team did in delivering a Absolutely knock out menu, I couldn’t even begin to try and pick fault all I will say is if you are thinking of going here stop reading and do it! Absolutely out of this world and I cannot wait to visit again soon.
A truly wonderful evening. Fantastic food and exceptional service as always.
