About The Bull & Tide
The Gastropub is a buzzing hive of activity – featuring beautiful leather banquettes and booths and exciting gourmet food from our Head Chef.
With our chef preparing dishes with the very best of local Boyne Valley produce, guests can enjoy a diverse range of Irish cuisine promoting artisan food producers: from contemporary to more traditional dishes featuring mouth-wateringly fresh seafood, tender meats and tempting desserts – all imaginatively served to complement an extensive wine and beer list.
The Gastopub is a sister venue to the Black Bull Inn in Drogheda which has long been renowned for serving excellent food in relaxed and comfortable surroundings, thus the Gastropb in the Village will soon become one of the most popular places for eating out in the Bettystown and Drogheda area.
All of the food is prepared in house using the freshest available produce, delivered daily from our trusted suppliers.
Only one waitress working so service was slow. Complained that warm chocolate cake was not warm and was told that it was not supposed to be warm even though it was described in menu as warm.....staff should really know the menu better!! Nevertheless this was wife's third time going to this establishment and previous two times were excellent so am willing to give it another try in the future.
Loved the meal. Food terrific. Loved the ambiance of the restaurant.
We had a lovely meal yesterday. Staff were fantastic as always. Can’t wait for our next visit.
Great evening with the family thank you!
First time Dining and lovely it was too
Excellent meal, great staff, definitely will come back again.
Staff and Service was excellent. The food was really good and we will definitely be back. Thank you
Staff need basic customer service training. Whilst pleasant and friendly when attending I would have thought it was customary for someone to check with customers during a meal if everything is ok with the meal or if anything else is required. Not once were we asked if we wanted another drink for example! When we said we didn't want a dessert it's usual to ask if tea or coffee is required. Tried to get servers attention several times to ask for the bill and eventually had to follow them to the coffee area to ask. Menu itself was fairly basic and nothing really stood out as different, especially on the starters. No side of vegetables on the menu either when the main only comes with mushrooms and one cherry tomato I would expect to see an option for extra vegetables without having to ask for them. Overall meal was nice but staff could pay more attention to detail.
Great food. Great staff. Friendly and efficient
Staff very friendly and attentive, food was piping hot and served in a timely manor - food priced reasonably enough however drink is quiet expensive so wouldn’t encourage you to stay too long - I would visit again and would also recommend for a meal but not a night out given price of drink
Great service and delicious food!
Great evening -buzzy atmosphere, good food and service - felt like the Black Bull -
Steak was cooked to perfection, good selection on the menu. Will be back again soon
Excellant meal, slight problem with forgetting my starter but the reaction to the error was unbelievable and all the staff done everything in their power to make up for it. It was our second visit there and will definetly not be our last, great to have a top venue in our area
Excellent service and staff
Great food and very good staff.
Very disappointed. Starters were very bland. Chicken wings. Very greasy. No taste of the blue cheese dip. Or the garlic dip. No finger bowl. Had to request. Main course also bland. Staff were very nice. Food very disappointing. I liked the decor but I’m afraid I wont be back.
First visit. Food was SO good. Service was ok, not very attentive. Will be back
My second visit since village hotel reopened. Pleasant friendly staff on arrival. Small mix up on starters but resolved swiftly. Duck liver pate starter... expected more gamey flavour and needs more toast. Chicken wing starter went down a storm with leftovers to take home. Goats cheese salad for main was delicious with lots of candied walnuts and not overdressed. Prawns chips and onion rings for main was super and without fault. We will return soon to taste more and experience more.
The choice, the quality of the food and excellent service from young well.trained and attentive staff was much admired by our party of 13 for Sunday lunch.. We shall be back.
Absolutely gorgeous venue. Food was lovely although our first choices were not available. We went for breakfast and it was very quiet it could have done with a little background music. Overall a lovely experience and I will definitely be back.
Fast, friendly service. Great food.
Great little restaurant so close to home. A really quality experience in Bettystown.
I do not want to be disingenuous to the staff but I think there is room for the service to be improved and more organised.. We had to go up to staff to make order after 15 minutes waiting . Had to get up again and go lookin g for vineagr and then again to get bill and pay .. it all seemed hard work and no one to organise staff..No complaints on food
