About The Bull & Tide
The Gastropub is a buzzing hive of activity – featuring beautiful leather banquettes and booths and exciting gourmet food from our Head Chef.
With our chef preparing dishes with the very best of local Boyne Valley produce, guests can enjoy a diverse range of Irish cuisine promoting artisan food producers: from contemporary to more traditional dishes featuring mouth-wateringly fresh seafood, tender meats and tempting desserts – all imaginatively served to complement an extensive wine and beer list.
The Gastopub is a sister venue to the Black Bull Inn in Drogheda which has long been renowned for serving excellent food in relaxed and comfortable surroundings, thus the Gastropb in the Village will soon become one of the most popular places for eating out in the Bettystown and Drogheda area.
All of the food is prepared in house using the freshest available produce, delivered daily from our trusted suppliers.
Our family had a wonderful experience in the Bull and Tide restaurant. Our daughter has a severe peanut, nut and egg allergy and the staff were excellent in looking after her needs. Our waitress Sarah was very accommodating, knew her stuff and couldn't do enough for us. All the staff were friendly, attentive very professional and adhered to all current requirements, making us feel very safe. We cant wait to return when they are open again!
The food has definitely improved recently, we had a very nice family meal.
Very efficient. Excellent food. Good price.
Very happy with the food and service.
It was extremely busy night , my husband was turning 44 and we had booked a table for Friday and a table for Saturday as we were going out with different people different nights to try and restrict the number of contacts with people. However cancelled Saturday night after fridays meal. It started great we were seated and the staff were really friendly and got us our drinks and menus promptly and everything was going great - After our starters a young lad took our drinks order pint of coors , pint of heneken, west coast cooler , tia Maria and Diet Coke- so the young lad brought down two pints , a shot glass of tia Maria , a glass of ice with lime in it and a Diet Coke- I asked what I was meant to do with the shot and he advised well that's hiw you get it here , I advised it never had been the tree previous drinks I had ! So I had to take out the lime and pour in the tia Maria into the glass ! Then the west coast cooler had The lid on and only we took it off with a lighter we had been left waiting . Mains arrived one of the meals was prawns starter For a mains with a side order of wedges , we Asked for the side a number of times and it never came! Next drinks order same issues as the last so I tried to get a different member of staff to change the drink at this stage the young lad took the shot of tia Maria away and I was left for 30 mins with no drink! Then he arrived back with something in the glass but so much ice come bared to tia Maria! We shouldn't have to pour or own drinks and open them ourselfs! Then I got my husband balloons and a cake,so he didn't see them my friends brought them in the side entrance and asked at the bar could they bring them down to the table , the lad said no way I don't get paid enough to do that and he said it to the girl beside him behind the bar who also said no way not a chance. One of the more senior members of staff took the cake and sorted it. But she not the young members of the team were not willing to do this ! Which I found extremely rude to be honest and it's never been issue before as I would of had my birthday meal there and a cake abs balloons were brought to me in September after that lock down. 4 slices of the cake was cut and then I asked for the rest of the cake to be brought back out to me to be brought home. But when cake never appeared we just left. When I paid and we had the sides taken off the bill I advised the manager how the staff brought the drinks and how we never got sides - she advised there young and new and needed training. I understand that , but we should of been offered a cup of coffee or a drink to make up for it. Instead we left and I cancelled my booking for Saturday and went the lime kiln instead. I've never complained in the restaurant before and have had many breakfasts , lunches and dinner there and the service was brilliant. At a busy time of the year when as a business before the next lock down you need to capatilise on your custom having staff who aren't willing to help customers is going to do the pollar opposite. I'll have to think twice before booking again.
Im only guessing but I feel there must be a new chef the past few months at the bull and tide. The food has changed for the better. The last few visits the food has been amazing. Myself and a friend had lunch yesterday and we ordered fajitas. We both agreed they were amazing and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The service was fantastic. Definitely now my favourite place to eat locally.
I mistakenly booked an evening reservation for 0700 and I received a call to ask if this was done in error. That's good service. The girl who was looking after our table (Rachel) was excellent. Service was fast and friendly and full of chat. Well done to her! Keep it up folks. You're doing a great job.
Food was amazing but a bit over priced with a 3 course meal 35euro A lot of food on standard menu sold out Servers appeared very flustered... and when trying to get their attention they walked by multiple times with their head down!!! I understand its a difficult time for all but this wasn't my most enjoyable visit Usually the standard is excellent!!! Slightly disappointed 😞
Really enjoyed our visit, lovely staff & atmosphere however food was basic, lacking taste and wine mediocre , not great value
Food was lovely staff friendly and kind
Lovely food and friendly staff.
We were waiting a long time for our food, but can understand under the current restrictions, however when the food came it was quite poor. The chicken wings were dried out, the fish from fish and chips was also dry and mostly batter. The prawn starter was nice. The staff were friendly as always but food just not up to usual standard. I tried to use a 'love drogheda' gift card and this was not accepted despite being advertised as being accepted.
Food was fantastic got the Xmas menu best meal so far great service and atmosphere and value for money
Enjoyed a lovely meal and a few drinks and I have to say it was great to be able to go out as it has been a long haul for everyone, felt really safe as the staff and management were wearing masks and doing the cleaning every time people left, I will be definitely be back and recommending the hotel to all my friends and family
Service was slow, 30 minutes waiting, but staff were very attentive and friendly.
Will definitly be visiting again. Very impressed with the food and service.
Nice food, nice staff, clean place, value for money, so perfect for me😊
Food was very poor, we ordered fish, chicken burger and chicken fajita. Fish came with patatoes and no veg at all, chicken burger came with on a bun and no garnish at all and about 10 chips on the plate, chicken fajita portion was minimal and I asked did chips come with it and I was told no to which I was very surprised. The food is far from cheap, really felt let down.
Food was excellent as always and staff was very friendly, helpful and made us feel at home. Can't wait to go back
Very nice atmosphere .
Great to be back. Food nicer then ever. Really enjoyed family dinner. Thank you
The chicken was dry on my salad which is just lettuce, sauce, chicken, with gone off bread aka croutons my mas burger was burned basically chared and to top it off it was my sons 5 birthday dinner will never return only positive was my waitress who I have to say was amazing at her job no athmosphere was shocking it was freezing outside the tables wobble drinks were spilling if you moved and never will never eat her ever again chef is shocking
Made booking to ensure we had an outdoor table with level 3 restrictions. Server had no notification of our booking and was unsure if the kitchen was still open for breakfast (we booked for 11am knowing that breakfast stopped at 11.30). Thankfully they served us but the menu was tiny due to covid restrictions - This should be advertised on your website as I was excited to order the breakfast wrap. Food was very good as was the service all the same.
Absolutely enjoyed! Will come back soon with all Family!
