About The Bulls Head Inn
Nestled in the Heart of the Peak District, The Bulls Head Inn stands in the picturesque, limestone hamlet of Foolow.
Our family-owned pub has been the hub of the area for many years offering tasty local ales, worldwide wines, and spirits, homemade freshly cooked food and a very warm welcome in our 'proper' country pub.
Boasting 4 dining areas; Our Stable Room offers a dog friendly place to dine, our flagstone floor bar with crackling log fire is ideal for a quick pint and muddy boots, main dining room for those that want a comfortable sit down 3 courses and when the sun shines, outside is ideal to watch the world go by.
Had a lovely stay at this pub. The breakfast was tasty and we were certainly not left hungry. We also ate there one evening and the food tasted delicious, I brought my parents and son across for the evening meal and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
Fantastic food, staff and service. Great night
Had a gorgeous meal - fabulous food and felt very ‘safe’ with the controls in place due to the pandemic. Will definitely go back again, and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending to anyone.
Fabulous food and atmosphere...
Really enjoyable and we will be returning again
It was a real pleasure to dine here last Thursday - our first meal out since lockdown. We have dined frequently at Fischers and at the Prince of Wales (Baslow) and it was good to see you maintain the same standards at your new venture. My confit duck was excellent as was my partners hearty salad. Both beautifully prepared and excellent value for money. We'll be back.
Lovely Sunday roast, best I’ve had in ages!
very nice Sunday lunch
The food (fish and chips and falafel cake w/ veg) were really good and the service was nice and friendly. Only complaints were that the table wasn't wiped down before we were seated (which is really important these days!) and it took 20-25 min for anyone to even come take drinks orders. We had take a menu from the neighbouring table as we were never given one. So, a couple tweaks and we'd be able to rave the place :)
Vegetarian options very limited. Menu rather chips with everything. It was ok, but limited.
Great food, fantastic wine and a lovely atmosphere. A shame you didn't have any rooms available for our May trip!
Sorry we could not put you up! Sadly fully booked. Hope you can join us again next time. Tom General Manager
Excellent steak, served very diligently by knowledgable young waiter. We will be back!
Very pleased to hear it! We have a lovely team of local staff. Very important to us! Tom General Manager
It was very busy so good atmosphere, helpful staff and great food.
Thanks Tom, love to see a high score! Tom General Manager
Superb food, a real country pub serving proper meals
That's the plan! Thanks for the lovely review. Tom General Manager
Well Worth the drive out had wanted to eat here for some time and wasn’t disappointed. Excellent lunch menu cooked to perfection a real treat. Will definitely go again.
Thank you! Lovely to read this positive review. Hope to see you soon, Tom General Manager
Poor starter, mediocre main but tasty pudding. I was expecting better and was slightly disappointed
Sorry to hear of your disappointment Mrs Gorman. I do hope you give us another go soon. We are improving day by day given we have only owned the pub a few months. Tom General Manager
Very nice food and friendly, efficient service in a very cosy country pub setting.
Thanks Stuart, we love our proper country pub and hope we continue to grow in 2020. Tom General Manager
A good start , even without the Piper on Burn’s night!
Disappointing to see the piper did not arrive in the end. Pleased we all still had a cracker of a night though! Tom General Manager
Great home cooked food and service. Everyone in our group really enjoyed the whole meal. We will definitely be recommending it to people staying on our campsite.
Thanks Tammy! Really pleased you enjoyed yourselves. Tom General Manager
Following a lovely walk around Foolow we had a Sunday Roast I the pub Restarant. The food was first class as was the service. I can’t wait to go back again!
Lovely to read this great review. Thanks for taking the time to write to us! All the very best, Tom General Manager
All very average. It took almost an hour for the food to arrive and no apologies/explanation about the delay.
Thanks for the review! We are working hard to improve things. Watch this space. Tom General Manager
Thank you for taking great care of us
Thanks for the review! See you soon! Tom General Manager

I did ring to book a table but it went to answerphone then on web page I saw you can book online, so I did for New Years Day. Bulls Head did return my call.Very busy in pub for NYDay but no problems with our food. I love the specials for people of a certain age. Each time we've called at lunchtime the menu is slightly different, plenty of choice. Welcoming pub and restaurant and FABULOUS FOOD. One of the best pub/restaurants close to Sheffield.
Thank you so much for this lovely review. I do hope we can invite you over the hill again soon! Tom General Manager
We love it here. Been visiting for a couple of years now but wish we had found it sooner. Great atmosphere lovely food love the pianist always made to feel welcome and it’s dog friendly couldn’t ask for anything more.
Thumbs up from us for your review! Thank you! Tom General Manager
