About The Bulls Head Inn
Nestled in the Heart of the Peak District, The Bulls Head Inn stands in the picturesque, limestone hamlet of Foolow.
Our family-owned pub has been the hub of the area for many years offering tasty local ales, worldwide wines, and spirits, homemade freshly cooked food and a very warm welcome in our 'proper' country pub.
Boasting 4 dining areas; Our Stable Room offers a dog friendly place to dine, our flagstone floor bar with crackling log fire is ideal for a quick pint and muddy boots, main dining room for those that want a comfortable sit down 3 courses and when the sun shines, outside is ideal to watch the world go by.
Thank you for taking great care of us
Very freindly pub , great location and good food
I did ring to book a table but it went to answerphone then on web page I saw you can book online, so I did for New Years Day. Bulls Head did return my call.Very busy in pub for NYDay but no problems with our food. I love the specials for people of a certain age. Each time we've called at lunchtime the menu is slightly different, plenty of choice. Welcoming pub and restaurant and FABULOUS FOOD. One of the best pub/restaurants close to Sheffield.
We love it here. Been visiting for a couple of years now but wish we had found it sooner. Great atmosphere lovely food love the pianist always made to feel welcome and it’s dog friendly couldn’t ask for anything more.
This is the second time I’ve visited the Bulls Head since it changed hands and it’s the second time it’s been really disorganised. It’s used to be really efficient and friendly with the previous owners and my most recent experience it seemed the bar was short staffed, we waited ages to be served and it took ages to pay the bill. It seemed a lot of people didn’t really know what they were doing. We also weren’t provided with a children’s menu until desert. I had assumed that seen as we hadn’t been given one from the off that they didn’t do one. That wasn’t a problem but it was a bit rubbish after buying a full priced adult meal to discover they did do a child’s menu. I think the place has gone down hill a bit since changing hands if I’m honest. I’m local and frequent this pub regularly. Something is now distinctly lacking, not sure what it is but it’s not right.
We have been regulars at The Bulls Head on a Sunday afternoon along with our dog, Elvis for nearly 4 years. Like many we were interested to see whether the recent change of ownership would have a negative impact on what we considered to be a great place to visit. However, I am pleased to say, first impressions have been good. Sunday lunch Is still excellent, the atmosphere and friendliness to humans and dogs continues as it was, only Elvis would complain and that’s because he no longer gets the pubs leftovers! Definitely worth a visit!
Very welcoming and friendly. Cosy feeling as soon as you walk thorough the door. The staff were very helpful with the selections of food and drink.
Everything was just as we had hoped for our cycling group. Warm welcome, good food and a quick and efficient service. Thank you,Tom and staff! PS Excellent beer selection!
