With the covid restrictions we were outside under cover as it was throwing it down with rain but we still had a lovely meal Thank you
The food was fabulous and all the staff were wonderful and incredibly helpful
Lovely pub. Food excellent. Covid precautions good.
Excellent setup regarding COVID safe and the food was lovely. Great speedy service too and nothing at all is a problem.
We visited The Bulls Head once before and was left slightly disappointed by the service but decided to give it another chance. However we were again left disappointed with the whole experience on what should have been a special day. I booked this for my birthday (mainly as it was the Bulls Head and I'm a Taurus) and I added a note about it being my birthday on the booking form, yet no one at the pub even mentioned it. Not that I was expecting any special treatment, but to not even have an acknowledgement was disappointing to say the least. When we arrived we ordered 2 espresso martinis but the waitress came back shortly afterwards to say that they didn't have the ingredients for those drinks so we had to order 2 other cocktails. However when these came, my partners' drink didn't contain one of the key ingredients, yet the waitress failed to mention this. The drinks were tasty but expensive so to not have all the key ingredients was a bit of a joke after we were told we couldn't have an espresso martini because they didn't have all the ingredients . . . The food was ok although again there were items missing. My partner had the forages risotto but that didn't come with any parmesan. Another key ingredient identified on the menu, yet this again wasn't mentioned by the waitress. I had the steak burger which although was edible, it was very dry and felt like it had been pre-cooked and then reheated. Also, with it being a steak burger, I would have expected to be asked how I would have liked it cooked as I would have preferred for it to be medium but I was never given an option. Overall we were disappointed with the attention to detail with both the food and drink and it's that attention to detail where the pub could really elevate itself to where it is trying to be. When we received the bill, there were additional items on there which I had to inform the waitress we hadn’t had – this was put down to a computer error. On the website it states that the owner/head chef has worked in many Michelin starred restaurants but from this experience, I am not sure if that can be true as the attention to detail was lacking in all areas which made what was meant to be a special occasion, a very average meal out... Would we eat here again - probably not. Would we call in for a drink – maybe . . .
VERY ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE. WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY.
My 3rd visit since it reopened. Great food and service every time. Sunday lunch is the best !
First and foremost, our meal was delicious. When we arrived, we were promptly shown to a quiet corner / end table, which suited us fine. On being given menus, credit to the server who told us (without being asked) that the soup of the day was pea soup. It was a chilly evening so we both ordered it - and it was really tasty. The fresh bread that came with it was delicious as well. We wanted more! Though we didn't need all 6 lumps of butter that came with the bread. Both mains (Fish pie & Veggie burger) were full of flavour. Possibly a sauce on the burger would elevate it even further, but it was a tasty burger. The triple cooked chips were delicious. So was the roasted carrot that came as part of the fish pie accompaniments. We both chose the Sticky toffee pudding to finish with. Possibly good old vanilla ice cream would've offset the richness of the pudding and butterscotch sauce better than malted milk ice cream did, but that's an observation, not a criticism. We enjoyed dessert equally as much as the other courses. All 3 portions were of a good size, so we needed the walk home afterwards!
Sunday dinner was delicious 😋. We would have preferred to sit under cover at the side in the beer garden, but the tables there had been previously booked. Luckily, the rain held off until we had finished our meal🙂
Great place, staff are amazing and great food. Only request would be slightly warmer outside - heaters or blankets would be good
It was our first pub trip of 2021 and it was a relief to find somewhere so accommodating and straight forward. No complications. The food was good quality pub grub and it was a relief to not be squished in between tables.
Really nice to be able to come back. The service was really friendly and the food was good (although my steak was quite fatty). We will be back again, thank you
Lack of vegetarian options on the Sunday menu. The high chairs at our high table were initially ok but became uncomfortable as the meal went on. The time from order to starters was slightly longer than ideal but starter to main was perfect timing. The downside of eating a hot meal outside was that it soon became a cold meal (obviously not your fault!). Overall though we enjoyed our dining experience (my son's18th birthday - first pub lunch with alcohol for him).
Although we waited over 45mins for our dinner, it was worth waiting for. Very delicious and presented really nicely :-)
The place is in a very nice area which I cannot fault. The menu is limited to a few options per course, however, the food I ordered was delicious and worthy of the price. The service was OK, I could sense one of the waitresses was slightly stressed or just did not like her job. Chairs outside could have been slightly more comfier.
Outdoor heaters would be nice.
As we live in the village it is good to have the pub open again, have come over for a few drinks on the Last two weekends have had food in the past normally when family/friends visit always enjoyed
The service was appalling! Had to wait over 30 mins for drinks and asked several times for them! When food arrived after 45 minutes of waiting had to ask several time for cutlery before getting it myself! Food was good when finally got to eat it though! No signs at entrance to tell you where to go or what to do- very unclear. Could do with outside heaters too! We did have a good night though.
Only went for drinks, but the outside area is great and a really good and friendly atmosphere all night. Although I didn't eat, the food coming out looked tempting. The only real issue was the organisation of services outside of the kitchen. Some people were seated and waited over an hour to get their first drink. It felt like it just needed a bit more control from someone that could see what was happening. But overall I enjoyed the night, only just moved to the village and will definitely be back!
Extremely pleasant staff with an excellent friendly service
Lovely meal, prompt service, good adherence to Covid guidelines
Great afternoon with the family, good weather, service and food equally good
Great pub but very slow service
Bloody lovely afternoon! Lovely staff! Felt very covid safe! Gorgeous food.
