About The Bull & Ram
Situated in a Grade 1 listed butcher's shop, the Bull & Ram serves the best in local award-winning produce. Lovingly restored back to it's former glory with the orginial tiles and awning, meat-hanging rail and herringbone oak ceiling, the restaurant offers a unique dining experience. The modern annex at the back of the kitchen boasts an open kitchen where diners can watch the chefs at work. The Bull & Ram's imaginative, modern yet informal menu celebrates the best of local produce, from 40-day Hannan's beef, dry-aged in a Himalayan salt chamber to fresh fish landed in Dumdrum, diners can enjoy the best that County Down has to offer. Signature dishes include bone marrow on toast, sugar-pit cured bacon chops and scallops "Rockefeller".
Wonderful lunch, will definitely be back. Steak was so good, great selection of wine. Must bring Dad - he was born above the shop next door!
Had a great night for our anniversary. Food was super, so was the wine. Eden was also a highlight!
Booked restaurant at last minute online. Manager couldn't have been more helpful arranging a table to suit our specific requirements. He even took the time to phone us and discuss our needs. On arrival we were greeted by the manager to ensure our table was suitable. Food was excellent and great value. Have not had a better steak in a long time. Service was friendly and efficient and price very good. Can thoroughly recommend and it won't be long before we return.
Great service and great food Some of the front tables can be a little chilly
Excellent in all respects. Will be back soon.
Superb food and first class, attentive service. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.
Service was a little slow but very pleasant - food superb and very good value for money
Very attentive staff who couldn't be faulted
Continues to deliver first class food and service. Definitely our go-to venue for quality.
Fabulous lunch for my son's birthday with my best friends. The service was friendly, helpful and not in the least intrusive. We have, as a family, dined with you quite often and will continue to do so.
Was just awful obviously major problem yesterday in the kitchen. Flat coke cold soup after 60 mins wait poor meat. No Yorkshire pudding left. So bad we couldn’t risk going back.
We brought visitors from Scotland- they loved it. Only slight issue, which staff are aware of is that, when seated at tables in the back section, the smoke from the kitchen can really irritate your eyes after a while - would not stop us from going back - again and again. Looking forward to the Belfast restaurant opening soon!
The only negative was receiving an email telling me to vacate the table for 9:30 and the consequences of a booked taxi sitting waiting and the meter ticking over.
We were there for a birthday - made to feel welcome from the word go. We didn't get the name of the guy who was FOH but he was lovely-great reccomendations on both food and wine and chat beyond the usual niceties from a waiter. We'd been waiting to go for a while and the food didn't disappoint. Would thoroughly recommend if you like Steak
Excellent food, excellent service, all round just great, no hesitation in recommending the Bull and Ram
Our favourite eatery in Northern Ireland - the manager Daryl adds a special addition of efficiency, professionalism and warmth to the restaurant. We will return.
Fantastic place as always, cannot wait for you to come to Belfast!
This was our first visit and we will definitely be back. We visited on Monday evening and thats the reason for 4 stars for atmosphere ( a little quiet) but can imagine the atmosphere being 5 stars later in the week when it would be busier. Starter main course dessert all very good. The Sunday Lunch menu looks good so will likely try that soon as we can.
Food (steaks all round) was delicious, staff very helpful, friendly & accomodating. Service bit slow but only to be expected on a Saturday night. Overall, very impressed
Even though I declined the offer of tasting the wine, I thought that after ordering 2 bottles that they should have at least opened them. I think an 8 oz fillet steak no matter how good it is, is over priced especially with what it comes with. Food also arrived very very quickly. Starter arrived 2 mins after ordering.
Food was amazing, lovely staff and great atmosphere. We loved it!
The food was spectacular. The service manages to be both professional and personable - very few places manage to pull that off. The manager Daryl visited our table at least 3 times and made us feel very welcome. Can't wait to return and looking forward to the Belfast opening.
Great night, would definitely return
Excellent hospitality and Amazing food. Will definately be paying another visit soon.
