About The Bull Hotel
Welcome to Number 9 the Market Place - The Bull Hotel; a former 17th century coaching inn, now a Pub & Restaurant with Rooms. In the centre of Olney, overlooking the Market Place, we sit at the heart of the local community; a great spot to watch the world go by.
Whether you are in the mood for a leisurely breakfast, a light bite, late lunch or are looking for a dinner destination, our menus have something for everyone.
Our roots stem from Charlie Wells, so rest assured we take our drinks seriously. Guest cask ales, amazing selections of spirits and cocktails and over 30 wines available by the glass or bottle
Perfect for a romantic getaway, a family break or (thanks to Olney's convenient location to nearby Milton Keynes, Northampton or Bedford) a handy stopover for that business trip.
Good food, would have liked a specials menu perhaps
We attended as a large party of 24 to celebrate Christmas. Great atmosphere, lovely food and very well organised.
Food good but service slow and unattentive
Our table was not available at our booking time due to pevious diners at the table sitting there for over 30 mins with coffee. We were however offered a table in the pub section which we accepted. However, maybe you should inform diners beforehand when they need to vacate their table? Ours was a special engagement celebration with champagne hence the ‘restaurant’ table request. A little disapointed though food and service were faultless.
Plenty of friendly staff. Great service 10/10
Emily gave very good service.
Lovely, stylish restaurant with friendly, attentive staff and the food was delicious. Highly recommend it.
Great food and relaxed but attentive service.
The only issue we had was that we had put in the booking that we had two babies and wanted them to sit st the table in high chairs. This was not known about when we arrived and the table was far to small to do this easily. The staff who seated us seemed to not acknowledge that this was an oversight on their part and made it feel like we were inconveniencing them. Bad start to an otherwise lovely meal - as ever!
Fabulous atmosphere, excellent professional service. Scrumptious food. Well done team 👍
The place is getting better and better - keep up the good work!
Service and food was first class as always
Had a lovely Sunday lunch , we had the roast platter for 2 which was plenty for 2 people and very tasty . Service was great and the new interior is lovely.
Would have preferred a table away from poorly behaved children. I will ask for this in the future.
Second visit to the Bull and still excellent food and service.
Lovely food, nice atmosphere...
Second visit for us and yet again the food was excellent as was the service. Would highly recommend
Excellent food. Expensive wine.
Amazing service, beyond any of its competitors. Excellent food (in particular the brisket pie!!!) great job to everyone involved.
Waited 2 hours for our food. Ran out of sirloin steak at 8.30. Food good when it did arrive
The food was superb - great Sunday roast. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommended. Diane
Great pub, food was fantastic. Only issue we had that 3 of the starters we ordered weren't available (we did book quite late, 20:30, so not too surprised as the food is delicious!)
Food was amazing and staff were very helpful with recommendations.
Warm welcome and very accommodating staff. Food excellent, had to wait a while but as it was all cooked freshly no problem with this, especially with 4 different dishes within our party. Would highly recommend a visit.
We visited The Bull for Sunday lunch yesterday. Initially service was promising, however we were waiting on one of our party arriving. We got to the restaurant at 12.45 and were not served our starters until an hour later. These plates were not cleared and we received our main courses a further 45 minutes later. We had a very tired and hungry toddler by this point! In my opinion the food was not hot enough and they were stingey on the gravy. We would have stayed for dessert and coffee had the service it been so poor. The atmosphere and setting of this pub are lovely, the service needs improvement. Thank you
