About The Bull Hotel
Welcome to Number 9 the Market Place - The Bull Hotel; a former 17th century coaching inn, now a Pub & Restaurant with Rooms. In the centre of Olney, overlooking the Market Place, we sit at the heart of the local community; a great spot to watch the world go by.
Whether you are in the mood for a leisurely breakfast, a light bite, late lunch or are looking for a dinner destination, our menus have something for everyone.
Our roots stem from Charlie Wells, so rest assured we take our drinks seriously. Guest cask ales, amazing selections of spirits and cocktails and over 30 wines available by the glass or bottle
Perfect for a romantic getaway, a family break or (thanks to Olney's convenient location to nearby Milton Keynes, Northampton or Bedford) a handy stopover for that business trip.
Very enjoyable meal well presented and produced. Service good and helpful.
Room mix up (single offered for 2 people despite booking a twin 3 months prior), foul stench of disinfectant in 2nd bedroom, pidgeons roosting on conservatory roof coo-ing all night & plentiful droppings right outside bedroom window, room bills inc food should have awaited us on arrival as agreed but didn’t! Undercooked eggs for breakfast. Nice refurbishment of old building but lacks good management.
Lovely relaxing Sunday lunch
Went with some friends as they had never been here for Sunday lunch. It was very disappointing as we had saying how get the sharing Sunday was and it turned up cold and nobody came over and asked us how it until the end. We also ordered red wine which arrived very cold so we could not taste the flavours of the wine. So, I am sad to say it was very disappointing wont be rushing back.
It was very busy but service was slow and staff weren’t particularly attentive. Food was left on the pass for a while and then arrived with orders incomplete (roasts said they came with bread sauce but none wasn’t given until we asked). The food was good though, cauliflower cheese could afford to be cheesier and slightly more cooked but otherwise overall tasty
Would visit again service was not brilliant
Good food, very friendly attentive staff.
This review is based on a lunchtime meal. The restaurant is situated in a very good position in Olney and is very clean. The food is good and the service excellent.
Good place for lunch
Lovely dining area and a really good menu with vegan and gluten free options. This is the 2nd time I have visited and will definitely be going again.
The service was great! I had friends visiting and they commented on how lovely the place was and how friendly all the staff were. The Sunday roast was also absolutely delicious!
Very busy Saturday lunchtime so a bit of a wait for the main course.
Our order for the appetiser board was completely forgotten until we reminded the waiter and took 25 minutes to be served. It was symptomatic of a lackadaisical approach to service throughout the evening, which ended with us having to ask for the table to be cleared, 15 minutes after finishing our meal. It came as a sad contrast to a very good - and well served - Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. Very disappointing.
Wait staff and manager very helpful and service was very good
Amazing as always!
Thoroughly enjoyable evening, food was amazing, service was excellent, think our Waiter was called Josh, he was exceptional and very good at his job
Lovely evening with old friends. Every table busy, plenty of staff to cope who were engaging and friendly. Well done & thank you. Food was pretty good too 😊
Thomas our waiter very friendly & helpful
Fabulous Sunday dinner
Sunday lunch was disappointing, my friend requested no cauliflower cheese but it still arrived on the plate. Roast beef was over cooked, vegetables were hard, food was luke warm. I ordered chocolate brownie for dessert which was also disappointing, it was dry, no sauce, just a blob of cream and a few soggy cherries which did not look very appetising. The wine was good. Service was good when we arrived but then we were left waiting for the bill. The Swan and The Cherry Tree are much better.
Great atmosphere and service, food good, not outstanding, but good value.
We have dined here a few times and it’s been faultless but this time we had a 50 minute wait for our starters. We was compensated with a free drink which was great but the staff could have been more informative about the situation.
Could not fault it! Food was amazing, great specials, very friendly, attentive team. Thank you
Excellent service, wonderful food, a pleasure to visit Thank you
