About The Bull Hotel
Welcome to Number 9 the Market Place - The Bull Hotel; a former 17th century coaching inn, now a Pub & Restaurant with Rooms. In the centre of Olney, overlooking the Market Place, we sit at the heart of the local community; a great spot to watch the world go by.
Whether you are in the mood for a leisurely breakfast, a light bite, late lunch or are looking for a dinner destination, our menus have something for everyone.
Our roots stem from Charlie Wells, so rest assured we take our drinks seriously. Guest cask ales, amazing selections of spirits and cocktails and over 30 wines available by the glass or bottle
Perfect for a romantic getaway, a family break or (thanks to Olney's convenient location to nearby Milton Keynes, Northampton or Bedford) a handy stopover for that business trip.
Food took a long time to be served. Waiting staff very pleasant.
Excellent meal in lovely surroundings
Our table wasn’t ready so we had to wait a little while. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful but the service of food and drinks was very slow. We only had 2 course and didn’t end up finishing until 11:30 pm! Will visit again as the food was lovely.
service was a little slow but food was amazing
Very tasty food well presented. Good service. An all round pleasant experience. Would book again.
Really lovely food ! Great night !
I am adding comments the same as I placed on trip advisor. This is a lovely restaurant and with a couple of “tweaks’will be a fabulous restaurant and worth the prices you charge . The food was lovely, very flavoursome. We went for the shared mixed main roast dinner. I would have liked to chosen how I had my roast beef as I prefer rare. Portion sizes were very good indeed with a lovely selection of vegetables which were served separately. Unfortunately the food was only warm. This really needs to be addressed as we were not the only customers to comment on this. I did explain this to the person in charge of service. If this can be sorted then this will be an amazing restaurant.
Excellent friendly well trained welcoming staff who couldn’t have done more for us. Food was also excellent so Congratulations to chef and his staff too. Lovely interior design with booths that make the evening more intimate so you can hear what each other is saying without the echo of a more open space.
I love the atmosphere in The Bull and have always found the staff very pleasant and efficient. All the times Ihave been the food has been consistently good.
Thanks for a great evening. The food was exceptional, the service top notch and the beer good.
The atmosphere was great as were the surrounding. Some of the food wasn’t great, some of it was nice. I would have liked a homemade naan with my curry and my husbands pie and mash wasn’t good. The food is expensive (which is fine), regardless of the price the food should have been better. The service was good, staff were friendly and accommodating.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food was very good, couldn’t fault this place.
Whilst the food and service was good, we did find ourselves ushered from the table to make way for the next guests. There is not enough allowance of time at all, especially considering we only had main and a coffee. So slightly disappointing.
Wonderful atmosphere and decor, polite staff, delicious food.
Food was good, staff very efficient, think prices are a little expensive for pub food. Had a nice evening, but would not want to be seated near the back doors again as there was an icy blast every time someone came in or out,
Have been twice before and liked it - walked in to be greeted at the bar by a very helpful lady who served us drinks, established what table we were on and set up a tab. Food was good as previous visits and the service was ok think the lad was a bit new and everyone has to learn so no problem - but what let it down this visit was where we were seated - we're a middle aged couple who dine out now and then and they sat us smack in front of the kitchen serving area on a table for two - I know the booths seat 4 but restaurant wasn't full and another couple asked to be moved and got a booth which is what I should have done - plus the chair almost collapsed when i sat down as all the spindles underneath were dropping out so swapped it out. Would go back but not to sit there as it was difficult to chat.
Think the standard of food has gone down since opening, i had a starter of sausages. They were pink and looked most unappetising. Sausages need to be brown and oven baked or fried not just boiled or cooked in tbe microwave. With the CherrynTree next door the standard needs to improve
Service was too slow, waited 15 minutes to get served at bar , not a good start ! then had to wait 45mins for our starters to arrive! very noisy restaurant area, too many hard surfaces everything just echos. Food was average. Pork belly crackling was soft and rubbery and when we told the waiter, he just said ‘oh,ok’ ! . We won’t be back I’m afraid.
Overpriced menu No toilet seat Personally not impressed
First visit & from the mintute we walked in the service was wonderful !! Food fantastic highly recommend.
Great food and sevice as always.
Great food. Staff were attentive and friendly. Great evening for my girlfriend's birthday. Even saved a spider! Thank you for a superb evening.
Three of us had lunch yesterday. Waitress introduced herself and was friendly and professional. Food was very good. The menu choices were very good, will need to come back to try something else next time.
Great menu, great service...& excellent surroundings
Service was efficient, friendly and polite.
