Excellent dinner and breakfast during our one night stay at The Bull. Well cooked, well presented and well served.
Room 5 is a lovely room but traffic noise is a problem from early morning. Breakfast great, evening meal reasonable, fish was good. The lacy potato tasted nasty of old cooking oil.
As we were staying at The Bull we ate here both evenings. We could not fault any of our meals. They were all superb. The steaks were excellent, moist and tasty and cooked perfectly. The fish dishes were really delicious and full of flavour and slightly different than the norm. We cannot praise the staff enough. Smiley, cheerful yet professional. There is also a very nice buzz about the place, very warm and welcoming.
Great food, very friendly and helpful staff, decor throughout hotel lovely. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here if wanting to tour around the Cotswolds.
Service was slow, but the reasons for this were given and it was not a big deal for us on this occasion. Also the final bill was adjusted by way of compensation for the delay. The wine was great, as was the food, and we'll certainly be back.
Gorgeous from start to finish...adored the decor of the bar and rooms...service great and staff all really friendly! Food great too!
We had a lovely meal, food was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go again.
We very enjoyed staying at the Bull, the rooms, beds, food, drinks and service were all (mostly) great. The only mishap was breakfast on the first day (Thursday), the room wasn't busy or full but our food took nearly 40 mins to arrive, and what is more of an issue, when I tried to speak to the waitress about the time it was taking she said she was too busy to speak to me. Happily the the breakfast on Friday was prompt and excellent, and the staff were not too busy to speak to their customers. I put this glitch down as a one-off and the rest of the staff and service were top-notch. I will happily go back and stay at The Bull and heartily recommend it.
A wonderful meal, and a homely atmosphere.
We loved the hotel, the room, the food. We have enjoyed our stay and will be purchasing a night in this hotel for a family to stay!
Loved the evening-the app made life really easy. Great venue
Service excellent and quality of food very good. Portion sizes are quite small for the price. The size isn’t an issue as such as it means you have room for 3 courses but perhaps should be priced a little lower to reflect.
A lovely, lovely pub/restaurant/hotel. We loved our stay here; room was fantastic and spotlessly clean. The staff were exceptional, very polite and welcoming. We would not hesitate to return and highly recommend The Bull, for anyone looking to stay in the Cotswolds.
Lovely meal for our 10th wedding anniversary
Great night on Saturday within good food. Thanks
The Bull was very interesting and full of character, and situated in a picturesque area of the Cotswolds. The food was superb, and staff service was also ok. Only criticisms was the very cold rooms, (radiators were not warm at all) and lack of hot water meant a cold shower. We checked out at 11:00 but housekeeping were knocking our door at 10:15. Overall a good experience but you couid feel it was a corporately run hotel with a lack of personal touch, with the staff just fulfilling their basic roles.
Will come again. Supper was very good: the chef paid a great deal of attention to detail.
Staff friendly and efficient as usual. First time for Sunday roast and most of had beef which was excellent. Only minor niggle was the almond pudding as the base was too solid (but that may have been personal preference) and the case tasted a little stale.
Delicious lunch, have been before and would come again. Well done.
One of our party is a vegetarian and was surprised (as we all were) that there was only one vegetarian option on the menu for a main course.
Lovely pub and comfortable rooms. Service a bit hit and miss, took 30 minutes to get our drinks in the restaurant, also not advised of extra charge for ordering steak, bearing in mind our reservation was actually at The Plough and only changed a few days before we arrived, therefore terms and conditions of the initial booking was actually changed by yourselves and no new terms and conditions were sent to me.
We were staying and eating at the Bull Hotel as part of a birthday celebration weekend. Our meal was very good. Having a choice of either ALa Carte or Pub Menu (or a mix of hoth) was good and a good choice of drinks.
Excellent meal, although the pizza was far too big for one person. Perhaps a small size and large size option would be an idea. 3 stars for atmosphere simply because only one other table was occupied.
We had a great nights stay at The Bull. The rooms were lovely, the bar/restaurant/beer garden were really well styled (quite a maze of different spaces), food was good and the staff were very friendly. Fairford is a gorgeous little Cotswolds town and I'd happily go back to or recommend The Bull when travelling through again.
Great atmosphere with excellent service.
