About The Brasserie - Rockliffe Hall Hotel
From light and nutritious to delicious and indulgent, enjoy an á la carte menu in the Brasserie restaurant that showcases flavours, flair and fun using the very best locally-sourced produce.
The bright and buzzy Brasserie is open for lunch and in to the evening. With views to die for and atmosphere aplenty, this relaxed restaurant serves up seasonal specials to ensure you are always getting the freshest, tastiest dishes in the North East.
I was really looking forward to our meal that was part of our spa package. I had read up about the brasserie and it looked lovely. However it was a little underwhelming! I ordered from a select menu and went for the muscles and my friend upgraded to the fillet stake. The muscles arrived and they where slightly overlooked and the sauce was quite flavourless. Also the perpetuation of the muscles wasn’t great a few has beards still on. Which for a restaurant that boast high standereds was surprising. Also the crusty bread was cold and not home made. Moving on the my friends Fillet stake. This was cooked perfect ans a lovely bit of meat but the sauce was not overly nice or worked well with it. Lots of onions that overpowered it that taste smoky and loads of tomatoes. Desserts took forever and I think there was a mix up and when the waitress brought out deserts they where the wrong ones or we think they where they where wished away and another 20 min wait and we found is slightly annoying that there was no explanation or apology for the mix up or delay.. all in all was jusy a shame that it was nothing special and I’ve had a lot better. Hope this feedback back is taken on board
A wonderfully relaxing stay at Rockliffe Hall Hotel. The whole experience was second to none. Staff in the Brasserie were all extremely attentive and very informative. They really knew their menu and could describe each dish with ease. The quality of the food was exceptional and beautifully presented.
amazing food, attentive and efficient staff. really great place to go. thanks
Had a fabulous time yesterday in the Spa followed by a delicious meal in the Brasserie , it was absolutely faultless . It was my best friends 70th Birthday , we cant praise everyone highly enough . It was a day we ll never forget . Thankyou all so much ! Debbie and Kath
Food and service excellent and catered for my wife’s specific food needs. Thoroughly enjoyed it
The Brasserie Resturant was a most enjoyable relaxing experience whilst eating quality locally sourced produce. From the a la carte menue I would recommend the King scallops for a starter then followed by the venison which were both delicious. Well done to all your efficient staff.
The food was not as good as previously experienced. I had fish & chips which I found very greasy. I finished with a chocolate fondant which was more like a microwaved muffin, certainly not a fondant with a runny chocolate centre, very disappointing. I did complain about dessert but nothing was said or done.
Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful stay at Rockliffe, our meal was lovely and the staff were very kind, efficient and helpful! I’ve been to the Brasserie restaurant a few times now and it never disappoints! Thank you so much for another wonderful experience!
Had a lovely meal i would definitely recommend
Really lovely food in an equally lovely setting. Young Harold, our waiter, was such a lovely guy. He made some time to chat to us during a busy lunch. Would have liked a little more time between courses to make room for more!
Lovely food with good friendly service.
Menu somewhat limited
Excellent experience which added to the quality of my treatment experience yesterday. Lovely touch Colin remembering that I was the mother of the bride at my daughter's wedding at Rockliffe 6 years ago. I found that amazing and added to the quality of customer service.
Nice but not 5 star like the hotel. Food we had was good and served at right pace. Biggest let down though was meal options included in hotel package. Only 2 courses and main options of fish and chips, vegetarian option and sausage and mash more like a local pub. Worse is that the alternative £25 allowance option of the a large carte menu only really buys you a main . In other words be prepared to spend another 25 a head even when the meal is included.......very misleading. Only other suggestion is to have somewhere for pre dinner drink that end of hotel. Hotel is lovely but dining options definitely letting it down.
We booked for a late meal to allow maximum time in the spa - service took a little while as a result, but the food was lovely and the atmosphere really good
Amazing two course meal as part of spa day. Food was delicious. Service friendly
Mixed reviews. Orderd some bread, after waiting 20 mins we asked if it was coming?! Came straight over and then 5 mins later mains arrived! If we knew this would happen we wouldn’t have wanted the bread! Service not great and drinks expensive. Steak was nicely cooked but had nicer. Nothing special in my opinion.
Service and food excellent
Had the most amazing day ever. Paula made me very relaxed on my full body massage that I actually fell asleep. All the staff were very attentive, professional and friendly. They were plenty of choice of things to do in the spa. Everything was clean. I was more than happy with the day and I will 100% return in the future.
Colin and his team made our evening in the brasserie very enjoyable they were very attentative without being over the top
Nothing special for the price you pay
All in all an amazing stay with a lovely meal in a relaxed environment with very polite and professional staff. The food was faultless and I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Nicely furnished restaurant with plenty of room between tables. Excellent welcome and attention until point of ordering and then it all went wrong. The main course came out while we were still eating our starters with no comment from the waitress to hold it back. No one came to check if the food was ok at any point or offer drink refills and the restaurant was not busy. At the end of the meal we spoke to the waitress about the lack of service and timings and we were told it would be raised with the chef! In fairness the manager did recognise the lack of service and deducted a couple of drinks from the bill. The food was good but not exceptional and the experience was overall disappointing considering it is a high end restaurant.
The food is very good well presented and very well cooked
After spending a lot of money to come here for an over night stay we came to the restaurant for our 3 course meal which we had already pre paid, on arrival my husband ordered a pint of larger for it to come and to smell like egg, my husband mentioned it to the bar staff who said it was because the pipes needed cleaning, after this I asked for tomato soup for my starter I waited for this to then be told as my Husbands starter arrived there was no tomato soup, I didn't like anything else on the menu so I had a slice of bread with butter, after this our steaks came, I informed the nice waiter I would like it well done / burnt, it came out still alive on my plate, following this I over heard another couple complaining about the same situation, we went on to leave our feed back to the lady on reception at night shift she said our manager will speak to u before leaving the next morning, she spoke to us and made a member of her staff come to the desk to ask her questions in front of us to me she made it uncomfortable for myself my husband and the member of staff, she then also went of to have a answer for everything I personally didn't think this was good customer service skills as the customer if supposed to be always right, I'm just dissopointed that it is meant to be 5 star and we didn't recieve 5 star service or an apology
