About The Brasserie - Rockliffe Hall Hotel
From light and nutritious to delicious and indulgent, enjoy an á la carte menu in the Brasserie restaurant that showcases flavours, flair and fun using the very best locally-sourced produce.
The bright and buzzy Brasserie is open for lunch and in to the evening. With views to die for and atmosphere aplenty, this relaxed restaurant serves up seasonal specials to ensure you are always getting the freshest, tastiest dishes in the North East.
We enjoyed a lovely meal as part of a gift voucher for the spa! Could not fault it!
A very nice hotel restaurant with a nice ambience. They work hard on ensuring you feel welcomed and looked after, plus when we have been in the summer you have the amazing option of balcony dining which is an added bonus. The food is lovely for an inclusive set menu with choices and I am sure most people who have dined there will have had a good experience. We will return, as we always do :-)
came for a spa day with coffee and cake included. Brasserie was quite cold, it should be slightly warmer considering people are coming in in their robes from the spa. Service was fantastic they were all so lovely. We ordered a scone With jam and cream and when it came it was presented lovely however the scones they serve just be from frozen as the outside of the scone was piping hot but inside it was stone cold which wasn’t very nice. As it was quite busy in the restaurant we didn’t want to make a fuss but I think serving pre frozen scones in a 5 star establishment isn’t great
We had lunch and evening meal at the brasserie whilst staying over for a spa break. Food was delicious, although the egg and cress/rocket sandwich took a long time to prepare and was missing the cress and rocket, which was a shame. Evening meal was very tasty abundant service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The fire alarm sounded on a couple of occasions (false alarms), cutting off the power supply to the kitchen, making our meal take a little longer to cook, however, the front of house staff were very calm & kept everyone updated with progress. This did not affect our enjoyment of our meal at all. All in all, we have a relaxing break & would visit again.
Poor overpriced menu
Not great experience at all. Had serious issues but was dealt with by hotel.
Very unhappy - booked for 8.30 and served our main course at 22.10 by this time I had lost my appetite and left whole meal - explained to girl on desk when we left and she said she was sorry and hoped next time we had a better experience - that did not help as we wont be back - very very disappointing for a special occasion and considering I didnt eat my meal really do not think I should have been charged for it. Not a good recommendation for a 5 star establishment.
Unfortunately our overall dining experience at the Brasserie is not one we would want to repeat. The service was dreadful from start to finish for a number of reasons and we were not at all impressed with the food either. It took a very long time to get drinks, we were told at the last minute the food item all of those at the table were ordering was no longer available, our main courses took a long time to come and were not particularly enjoyable, especially after the wait, the member of staff who served us was not apologetic or professional in dealing with our requests and concerns throughout the meal and we left feeling extremely let down by the night we were so much looking forward to. This is such a shame as in every other way we could not fault the hotel in terms of the spa, rooms, facilities and breakfast.
Delicious afternoon tea, wonderful pastry bites rather than sandwiches & a glass of mulled wine, as well as tea served in china cups. Went with my Mother & sister as a Christmas treat & had a great time. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely food nice place. Service a tad slow and food pricey but very good quality
Service was slow. Food took over 30 minutes from ordering to arrive. Glass of coke over priced.
While Rockliffe Hall itself was such a stunning place, with such friendly and helpful staff. The food at the Brasserie really let it down. A below par meal all round.
Very slow service. Ordered main course then waited 50 mins for very poor pork and venison dishes. Ordered sweet and waited 30mins for trifle and apple dishes. My wife had the Trifle which was 90% set yoghurt!! Will not be back
There were 8 of us on a spa day and the two course lunch was included. We arrived at the restaurant for lunch which was beautifully decorated and our table set ready for us. Service was swift and our server very friendly. Everything was really lovely. The fish and chips were huge and came with a small pot if mushy peas. The Caesar salad was plentiful and I had the duck which was delicious, not sure about the serving dish though that made it awkward to eat. A somewhat picky comment. Desserts were delicious and I had the winter berry trifle with gingerbread which was delicious. We had a slight delay with one desert but all in all a good experience.
Fantastic provision for dairy egg and nut allergies Thankyou. The jazz musicians were great , lovely atmosphere. Seemed a bit short staffed, had to ask for drinks orders to be taken several times. Overall though, really enjoyed it.
Lovely food and exceptional service.
The staff were excellent throughout our experience and the food was very good.
Excellent vegan choices done to a very high standard.
Food and service was exceptional. Always love visiting Rockliffe Hall. Hats off to the chefs. Never disappointed
I had fish and chips and the fish was huge but it was mostly batter. Not impressed with apple dessert either as sticky and sickly and ice cream grainy.
Charlotte Kay and Harold made our experience even better Such a fabulous evening
Food was great but it was fairly busy and the service was a little slow as a result. Friendly staff and helpful, but a bit rushed off their feet
