A first class experience. Great staff. We are coming again for Afternoon Tea. I am sure it will be just as good. Thanks for a great evening.
A lovely stay and meal for our anniversary. Delicious food great service
Food was excellent loved the beetroot starter drinks a bit expensive staff friendly
Friend and I enjoyed our annual Rockliffe Spa Day treat to celebrate our birthdays. Our experience of lunch in the Brasserie this year was the best ever. We enjoyed a wonderful 2 course lunch with the help of a very friendly/helpful waitress. Thank you also to the chef who created a couple of beautiful Happy Birthday chocolate plates for us. Looking forward to coming again in November 2020! Thank you Elaine and Lynn
Having dined at all of your venues within hotel complex I can only say was yet again fabulous food was sublime and service was excellent many thanks yet again C M Bennett MCIOB.
Brilliant food, good but not great wines, lighting way too bright at night, service hit and miss evening very good lunchtime waitress Who didn’t work evening bordering on rude. BUT cooking like this gets a massive thumbs up
Can’t wait to come back
We had to wait too long for our food to be served. Our mains took 45 mins and then we waited another 40 mins for dessert. My liqueur coffee was then only lukewarm when served. I did request another which was brought straight over and the cost of the dessert was deducted from the bill, but this experience was disappointing and not what we expected from a 5 star hotel. The very expensive prices, especially for drinks, certainly reflect the 5 star rating, but we felt the service didn’t.
My daughter's and I had a lovely end to our evening spa and dined here as part of the autumn twilight package. Exceeding our expectations the food was delicious - recommend the fish and chips. The atmosphere was relaxing and well dimly lit for a cosy feel and the staff extremely attentive.
From start to finish the service and meal was first class. The Manager was personable, welcoming and gave recommendations. The waiting staff were a credit to his team. The man serving us chatted to us about food, wine and his travels. They allowed time between courses at our request. The food was lovely lots of choice, great size portions and very tasty. A huge improvement since our visit in February. Well done
We were really disappointed. We had visited many times before but this time certainly was the worst by far. When placing my order with the waitress I asked for my burger to be well done as I’m pregnant. The waitress said it would take 30-40 minutes which was fine. Even at that stage she had no interest in being friendly or making any conversation. When the next waitress came out with the burgers she didn’t ask who’s burger the well done was and both burgers were just as pink as each other. When I questioned it the first waitress took it back to the kitchen to cook it some more. As time passed I was just sat there for at least 15 minutes while the rest of the table were eating. The waitress seemed to have be very unsympathetic to the situation and simply stated she told the chef and it couldn’t be helped if they’d tried to cook it right! For a £17 burger in a 5 star hotel they should be able to cook it how a customer requests and it doesn’t seem that much of a stretch of a request. She was interested. The manager had seen me having a heated discussion with the waitress but didn’t approach us until requested. I found the whole experience uncomfortable and very poor service. It ruined it for our whole table. The manager in his defence did appear to be very friendly and showed empathy unlike his waitress who can only be described as rude and with no understanding. I even pointed out to her if it had been an allergy it was worrying they didn’t take requirements seriously. It only took that one waitress who hadn’t followed the instructions and with a bad attitude to customers. Which lets it down for other members of staff like the doorman who was such a lovely friendly gentleman and always is and the team in Misch Masch who are amazing. We had wanted a coffee on the main house which was also closed on Monday which was a shame.
We had a lovely day and nights stay 27/10/2019 eating in the clubhouse for lunch and the Brassiere for Evening Meal, the food and Service were excellent at both. The prices were a bit too high but it is a 5 star Hotel. The views from both places were good as was the breakfast room, the food at breakfast was excellent too. Highly recommended but keep in mind it is a bit pricey all round. Cheers RJ - Leeds
The food was sensational. I highly recommend the cheese soufflé!
Great meal & service on our wedding anniversary. Many thanks.
Service was excellent was able to cater for my allergies
Portions were on the small side.
Absolutely Fabulous, food amazing, soo many Delious mussels and the Lamb with the shepherds pie was the best, we even got told of the secret ingredient that went into it from Colin who's service was very attentive and friendly, will definatly return x
Good food and excellent service. The two younger men and the (manager or maitre de) were very polite and efficient. They made my daughter Amanda feel special. The weekend was for her 40th birthday.
We were attended to by the staff within the establishment tremendously well. Would reccomend to all.
My second dining experience in the Brasserie, albeit this was lunch as opposed to an evening meal. I had a sandwich served with crisps and salad which was excellent, the only thing that let the food down was the portion of chips that my partner and I shared were "okay". The rest of the food was brilliant, with an excellent drinks selection and impeccable service.
Had a very enjoyable three course meal in the Brasserie. The ham hock terrine starter was a brilliant opener, with steak cooked to perfection for main followed by a rich chocolate fondant. The drink selection was excellent, with a particularly good selection of gin and gin liquors.
We had lunch & dinner in The Brasserie & found the food & service good.
On behalf of my friends, I can convey our total satisfaction of our visit to the Brasserie yesterday lunchtime in celebration of a special birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal - complements to the chef and staff, and the waiting staff were simply lovely. The birthday plate was a lovely touch, much appreciated. Whilst the hotel is quite a distance for us to travel to, we have already said we will return.
Very friendly staff and very helpful. Lovely food had highlighted to staff that my daughter was vegetarian and staff made sure they let us know the choices. Would highly recommend the Brasserie.
