Thoroughly pleasant afternoon with lunch and drinks...and sunshine! The young lads serving were terrific - polite, efficient and very pleasant, a credit to the hotel.
Food delicious, better than expected Dining room lacks character, feels a bit like a chain restaurant
Celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary with a lovely meal with family. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the food was delicious!
Fantastic 3 course Sunday lunch, service could not be faulted.
Marek and his team were the perfect hosts with5 star service and attention to detailmakibg our lunch relaxed and enjoyable. 10/10 !
Slight problem with the bill
We have been dining regularly since we held our wedding here in 2010. Always friendly and helpful staff with excellent service and quality food.
I object to the 10% added to my bill for service. I do not like having to say to take the 10% off. If I CHOOSE to tip I will give it to the server I want to give it to.
The service was terrible we had to wait for a while in between courses. We were a table of five, they brought two desserts eventually had to ask for the other desserts.
Waiter took time to ask if anchovies were an allergy or just not palatable when we asked for no anchovies in Caesar salad.
Would prefer instead of a service charge the cost was just on the food / drink
Sorry, but this did not live up to expectations. The restaurant was dull and had no character. Service was friendly but extremely slow. Food did not show any flair or imagination and the portions were very small - not good value for money even with Groupon voucher.
Although this was a Groupon meal, the service provided by the staff was all that would be expected of the Norton House Hotel. She was very considerate and advise us of a large group of diners who were coming in for a buffet, in case we wished to move seat. The food was excellent, particularly the smoked salmon with capers and pickled veg. Would definitely return for a meal from the main menu.
Fantastic food yet again. Still one of my favourite places to eat as something a bit special.
Great lunch and service
We had a very enjoyable evening dining at The Brasserie. The food was wonderful as well as the setting in which we ate.
We had a lovely time celebrating our first anniversary at the brasserie after getting married at Norton last year, the food and service was excellent just what we remember. We will definitely be back for years to come!
We had a very pleasant afternoon lunch
Worst experience. We loved Norton House but this occasion it was appalling in every way. Staff didn’t care, were slow and didn’t ask once if things were ok with the meal which they was not ok at all. One meal wasn’t touched at all it was so bad. Had to get up three times to get attention. It was Sunday lunch and truly was awful. It seemed staff needed training as they were unaware. Too many faults to write. Shame, it is is lovely setting and we loved it here but based on this experience I’ll never return.

The food was excellent and the service was very good
Mum and I had an amazing time for my birthday! The staff were amazing! Thank you very much to the Restaurant Staff who were brilliant! The meals we had were excellent and really good value. All staff made such a fuss as it was my Birthday. Can’t wait to go back.
We have stayed many times at the hotel but were disappointed on Saturday as the service on the restaurant wasn’t great. We had starters then waited 45 minutes for our mains. We were going to order desserts but got left with the menus for 15 minutes so decided against it as we weren’t sure how long the desserts would take to arrive. This is very different to our normal dining experience.
