Food was lovely, beautiful decor, clean. Waitress was absolutely lovely, couldn't have been more attentive..Forgot tontalw her name but she had an accent and blonde hair
Staff very friendly and helpful, room had a great view, Bar and restaurant staff very good, food excellent.
Really friendly staff and lovely food.
Service and food was excellent. Went for afternoon tea as a surprise for my wife's birthday.
Your staff went out of the way to ensure we had a great stay , especially in the restaurant and reception
January 1st visit with family for a birthday. Service was really good, the food was tasty and ample, we had a couple of tapas as a starter between 5 and then various mains, which were all well cooked and everyone enjoyed and ate it all. The recent re-furb is really bright and pleasant and would certainly recommend.
Great Overnight stay, excellent food and staff
Fantastic place, lovely people and food was outstanding.
Poor quality rooms. Service extremely slow. Food ok. High cost for what was offered.
Not very couple friendly. We heard the family rooms with kids screaming all night. For breakfast you should have families one half and couples on the other. A bit more space around breakfast bars could help with getting around. But rooms were clean and evening dinner was perfect. We were promised muffins on arrival which weren’t there, when I asked reception it seemed to be a bit complicated so we left it.
Stayed for a wedding. Rooms were dearer than average but hotel was very well presented Staff were welcoming and helpful. After a long journey would have liked a complimentary biscuit with my cup of tea but there were none. Shower was old style and not brilliant, hair dryer useless. Wedding food was ok, but way too long between service and wedding breakfast, so much so hardly any buffet was touched as most guests were still full...rather a waste. Bar prices were reasonable but i have to say that for over £100 per night, I still resent buffet breakfasts.
We were the only ones in the dining room and had a table of 8 for Cream Tea. Items were very nice and the tea pots filled when needed. Only one sandwich filling though egg mayo. Could have done with three different ones. Overall pleased.
Great value and excellent service will be coming back soon!
Fantastic service food room ... We’ve never stayed in a hotel for Christmas so we were nervous about what to expect, this stay has exceeded our expectations we have been so impressed with all the staff, the food has been excellent and the whole experience has been just perfect, thank you
Just had a wonderful Christmas here.
Excellent meal, as always when we stay here.
Room and hotel areas was cold
Booked for my wifes bithday celebrations and the staff and service received was excellent. Unfortunately we were given a room which we hoped would be quiet and peaceful however we were woken up at 3am 4am and 5.30am by people talking loudly, shouting and banging doors in the corridor, this is not acceptable at this time of the morning and we were exhausted by the time the morning came. Shame as we would like to return but would not want another night of noise like that.
Poor service, two girls servicing would rather chat amongst themselves. We were told soup was leek and potato - more like watery pee soup very bland. Fish and chip meal with oil from the fried fish all over the chips making them inedible. At no stage whatever were we asked how our meal was as I would of complained. The hotel is run by inexperienced part time students while the manager just stomps up and down the corridors back and forth from the reception area.
Mostly very good, as indicated by star scores above. Staff were exceptionally polite and helpful at all times. Just a couple of negative points. Public rooms, restaurant and corridors were a little chilly (although our visit coincided with a very cold spell). Our bathroom was a curious design as, after using the wet room style shower, the floor area around the toilet was unavoidably flooded.
A lovely night with a 3 course evening dinner and breakfast was ruined by the coldness of the restaurant during the evening meal. I would never put myself in such a freezing room ever. jan ellis
The whole hotel was freezing cold which ruined the whole experience
The worst customer service I have encountered in any hotel I have ever been to and I have been to many right across the world. Totally uncaring. The general manager couldn’t give a damn when I complained that we had been turned away from the restaurant at breakfast, which we had pre paid before arrival, because there were seven of us and they were “too busy to accommodate” us!! So even though we had paid £1000 for three rooms and breakfast they didn’t care and we had to go to McDonalds for breakfast!! Absolutely fuming at the miserable non existent customer service. At least at McDonald’s they care!! We will never return even though we have to stay in that part of the country on a regular basis. We will stay at a Premier Inn at a fraction of the price.
We had a good deal, which included a three course meal and breakfast. The food was very good, couldn’t have asked for better. The staff were friendly. There were two Christmas parties going on, but they didn’t interfere with our stay. Lovely location. Would stay again.
