About The Bottling Plant
The Bottling Plant is situated directly opposite Plymouth Gin, on the historic Barbican’s Southside Street. Once you step inside The Bottling Plant, you are greeted with imposing original pillars, set against the glistening quartz-veined, flag-stoned floor, unchanged since it’s beginnings in the 19th century as The Bottling Plant for Plymouth Gin. The walls are adorned with portraits of the past. Pick your favourite spot, sit back, relax, and make yourself at home.
All food is fresh and locally sourced and prepared by the equally local and very talented kitchen, and then served to you by an amazing staff team, who consistently get rave reviews. The Bottling Plant is the perfect spot to enjoy freshly ground coffee or that perfectly brewed pot of tea with your breakfast, or indulge in one of the in-house, mouth-watering brownies or cakes. Stay for lunch, afternoon tea or dinner and enjoy a creative cocktail/mocktail or choose from the wine list and drinks menu. These drinks could be paired with a sharing platter, one of the creative mains, a cream tea or you could just enjoy your drinks. The choice is yours.
Cocktails and servuce were amazing. 10/10
Love the place. Been many times
First time we have visited the Bottling Plant and it was absolutely fantastic! The menu was small and although it sounded lovely, we weren't overly excited about the food. HOWEVER when the food arrived we were totally blown away! The food was beautiful, the service was fantastic and I will definitely be coming back as soon as they are open again after lock down!
This is the 3rd time I’ve visited and to be honest I have loved it, great atmosphere and really nice place to socialise, however I’ve been really disappointed with the cheese platter for 2 as you only get tiny pieces of cheese, 8 crackers, 1 small pot of chutney then the rest is bulked out with gherkins pickled onions and a few grapes. Don’t feel this is value for money
Always feel welcome and comfortable.
Didn’t get the comfortable seats we booked . We booked the Chesterfield high seats because of back issues well in advance when we got there there were people sitting there and no reserve sign that was after you checking with me and me confirming my booking . Can’t see any reason to pre book just take a chance . The last time my sister booked online she had the same problem
Fabulous atmosphere, polite and efficient staff. Even during these difficult times it felt safe and very clean. Food was delicious. Highly recommend. Will be back.
Really nice place - varied seating and staff all very friendly. All measures in place re. COVID-19 and the venue seems to be dealing with this situation very well. I wish them all the best and hope to come back after lockdown #2. Stay safe all 🤩
Lovely place, hadn’t been before went with hubby for date night, Cocktails were amazing and well priced, loved the decor and atmosphere, all staff friendly relaxed and talkative, will defo be back!
Lovely new place for Plymouth and very different to the normal run of the mill pubs.
Great value, good service and lovely food!
Lovely place, amazing food and cocktails
The staff here are always so friendly and welcoming. We visit regularly as it is such a lovely and safe place to spend time. Love the platters but the vegan chilli isn't great, small portion. The staff definately make it my first choice of places to go.
Need more serving staff. Waited more than half an hour for our first drink order to be taken.
Love the place
Service seemed slow but all waiters were very friendly and helpful. Werent sure if rum requested was given and wasnt a different type. All chairs were different sizes which didnt help with having a conversation. Asked to move but told no- other customers didnt turn up.so we could of.
This venue is great!! On my regular go to list!!
Had lunch good value service was a little slow. Would go again, have had b/fast before which was excellent
We came in for a few drinks. It was my first visit. I loved what has been done with space (which I always loved even when it was a market!). The staff were fantastic. Really friendly and checked whether we needed more drinks every so often, without been obtrusive. I'll definitely be back thank you!
Lovely place.staff very frendly .my husband had a cooked breakfast was worth every penny
Quite a disappointment we were not given a menu and we had to ask twice for a bottle of Prosecco and 6 glasses to be given 5 as that was all you could find. Such a lovely place but felt that the service could have been better.
