About The Boot
The Boot at Repton is a 17th Century Coaching Inn, in the historic village of Repton, Derbyshire.
Dating back to 1649, The Boot’s original owner was a cobbler who hung an old boot outside to show what he did and where he was.
It is believed that whilst mending footwear the cobbler would offer ale and pottage to his customers and the passing coaches on cross country routes through the old Mercia.
Today, the new owners are busy renovating and refurbishing the property to offer a fabulous bar, restaurant and 9 luxury en-suite bedrooms.
Fantastic Sunday Lunch
Very enjoyable evening, good service, lovely food but could have done with a little more veg with the meal, apart from that very nice.
The atmosphere and service provided were very good. The food tasted lovely but I do feel that portion size on certain choices were small in comparison. Also maybe offering additional veg/salad as an add on would have beneficial.
The Boot is an excellent restaurant and pub
Food was delicious and even though they had a big party in too, the service was excellent, informative and friendly. We felt neither rushed, nor neglected - perfect celebration for my friends birthday!
6 people for Xmas lunch food really good, tasty and nicely presented
The lunch was lovely, we had Sunday lunch and the main courses were excellent. However the crumble was very disappointing. It was stewed fruit and a bit of topping that wasn't cooked and sprinkled over, not what we expected, a baked crumble.
Service always very good.
Lovely lunch with friends.
Food and service was great.
First visit and really enjoyed food and atmosphere however service was truly terrible. We had to keep asking for a drink. Waited absolutely ages for first course and again for main. Had to ask for Christmas crackers as none on our table, again waited ages. Could do with more vegetables on main, although food was delicious. Please sort out service as tempted to keep going to Bulls Head. Would be tempted to stay over if service could be improved
The staff were friendly and attentive and the food delightful and beautifully presented. Service overall was a little slow but our party so enjoyed the evening that this was inconsequential. thanks for a great time.
Your food, wine, service and ambiance are all superb and I have recommended you to many friends all of whom have eaten at The Boot with me
Outstanding quality, again.
First visit and it was excellent. Service was good especially as it was so busy. The only slight negative is parking which I understand is solely down to location.
I have already recommended you to a party of four who are dining with you in the next couple of weeks. Christmas menu was fabulous - thank you!
Nicely decorated gastro pub with lovely food
Lovely Sunday lunch. Especially liked the Boot Platter as I couldn't choose which lunch to have - really good idea!
The atmosphere was really good with superb home-brew bitter and an excellent menu. We only live just round the corner so it is a perfect venue for us.
The food was extremely tasty, though my main course should have been a little hotter. Most disappointing was the live music and raucous noise from the bar area which really spoiled the second half of the evening: either offer an enjoyable dining experience, or loud live music evenings, not both at the same time. The area simply isn't big enough.
Great atmosphere and amazing steaks.
Simply one of the best meals I've ever had could not fault it
Been on a number of occasions this time very disappointing food arrived 8.45 table was booked for 7.15! Amusee bouche was two slices of soda bread which arrived with our bread/olive starter 40 minutes after ordering. Had to leave 3/4 of our food as collecting children at 9pm, no discount was offered even though we left 2 whole orders of chips onion rings and half a steak each. Bill was £30pp. Not the best .
service great, relaxing atmosphere. Would recommend more towels in the rooms including face washers
Very imaginative menu, excellent service.
