About The Boat House – Upper Deck Restaurant
The Upper Deck, with its sensational views of St Aubin’s Bay, offers a stunning and unique venue for your enjoyment. The relaxed restaurant serves a variety of the finest Jersey fish, traditional dishes with a contemporary twist and delicious desserts and cheeses. Where possible, our chefs use local produce to reflect the wonderful surroundings. We work closely with local suppliers to offer a range of choices to complement the season whilst retaining many favourite signature dishes.
The Upper Deck also boasts a varied wine list. All of this, coupled with The Boat House Group’s trademark hospitality, makes The Upper Deck an unforgettable dining experience.
The food and service where both superb and a lovely Sunday lunch
Sunday Roast main course was a great dish and star of the show. Exactly what you want, large Yorkshire Pudding, crispy roast potatoes, plenty of meat and well coiked and seasoned veg all bound together by a goid sauce.
The service yesterday evening was excellent, not only were the staff immaculate and very smart but their service was excellent. The food was very tasty and fresh and everyone in our party very much enjoyed the evening. A great experience all round, well done.
Lovely food and friendly attentive staff.
Friendly helpful service with great food & views.
Lovely food and great staff. Thank you
We ate in the Boat House during Tennerfest as an opportunity to experience the Upper Deck. The food was fabulous; beautifully presented and extremely tasty. The sea bass on pea risotto was fantastic. The service was very good - unobtrusive yet attentive. On a Monday evening in October, the restaurant was understandably fairly quiet but not empty, this added to its charm as I don't like eateries where the noise is overpowering. A word of warning, the white chocolate mousse whilst delicious is very rich!
Tennerfest menu so good value but the lamb was almost too dry to eat.Service was poor and restaurant wasn't full!
The service seemed a little slow, but we enjoyed our visit, the tennerfest menu and reasonably priced wine. Thank you.
Food, service and company were excellent
food was quite good disappointing we did not know any of the staff keep changing too frequently sorry
We had a group booking evening meal on a Friday evening, the occasion being a staff day out. We were a group of 44 and the setting and service was fabulous. We all had 3 courses and all food came out promptly and was delicious. To get that amount of meals out on time without complaint, I imagine takes a great deal of hard work and organisation, so well done all at the Boat House. We would as a group strongly recommend.
Excellent service bearing in mind that your staff were dealing with a very large party.
Good view, good atmosphere, friendly staff and good food
Tasty food, good friendly service.
Tasty food, good friendly service.
Excellent service, food beautiful.
Great food, great Service and a great location. Fully recommended
Service started superb as it was early in the evening ( we had a Tweenager with us) but once it was busy we just got ignored. An hr between finishing your main course and eating your dessert is not acceptable. It ruined the night. Don't accept thrtable in the corner if you are offered it... they totally over look you! Fillet steak was superb though. Had it rare... perfect! Best I have ever had anywhere!!!
Excellent location, excellent service a pleasure to eat here.
We enjoyed the seafood courses and the puddings, but we all thought that the lamb and the chicken dishes were not nice as the meat was tough and tasteless and the mash was horrible. The service was slow, especially considering we had to pre order the whole meal. Half our guests had to wait for the main to arrive. Sorry not good enough, especially as you weren't busy. This is a shame as the food and service is normally good.
We were unhappy with the service in Saturday: we asked for a 2nd bottle of wine and after 15mins chased for it only to be told you were very busy when, in fact, it was far quieter then when we had visited on previous occasions. Also we visited the Main Deck & Bar on 17Apr where we had a good lunch but when we ordered a 2nd bottle of Taringi sav blanc we were offered Chilean only which we consider an insult! We can not believe a bar/restaurant of your standing can run out of a listed wine (we would understand if it was a special).
Had about 5 different waiters, had to keep reminding them for drinks we had ordered and for dessert, also had to remind them twice for bill, great food poor service
This is a lovely place to eat the food is fantastic and the service is brilliant had a lovely lunch today and it was just wonderful thanks Jennie Siham🍷👍⭐️🍾😁
Dined here with my wife on a recent visit to St Aubin. Good food; starters of scallops and crab on toast. Scallops cooked well and garnishes worked fine. Crab on toast was exactly that and could possibly do with a little refinement and a touch more seasoning. Mains of sea bass. No issues here. Skin could have been a little crisper, but really a minor detail. Gavi di Gavi great with the sea bass as you would expected. Cheese board shared between two was fine to share before desert. Deserts of Sorbet and pavlova, no complaints at all. All in all a decent meal in a really nice location overlooking the harbour. A reasonable wine list which should cater for most tastes. Service was good, albeit a little slow at times, although we were in no rush. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would have no hesitation in dining here again.
