About The Boat House Kilsyth
The Boat House Restaurant offers the very best food and wine in the picturesque setting of the Forth and Clyde canal marina. Scotland's world famous for its warmth of welcome and hospitality and you'll find it at the Boathouse Restaurant.
“We want The Boat House to be about giving something unique and brilliant back to the community. We want people to be proud of it, and to visit and enjoy home from home comfort. This is an amazing bar hotel restaurant with really outstanding food, lovely staff and great service, in an unrivalled waterside setting. We genuinely can’t wait to share it.”
What a lovely setting for dining. Staff are friendly, welcoming and the service is excellent. Love the open fire and cosy ambience. Great views of the canal and surrounding area. Food was delicious. Will definitely be back to dine again.
Good service , helpful abs friendly staff also very accommodating as I had to change my booking
We LOVED it. It was the perfect place to take the family out to for what was a very lovely meal. The atmosphere and ambience was so relaxed and welcoming and beautifully designed. Amazing food! Thank you!
the staff were friendly and welcoming. It was quiet for a saturday evening so it lacked a bit of atmosphere but we would have no hesitation in returning.
We were staying as guests and booked a meal online as we were travelling up from England. It was efficient, convenient and easy. Once arrived, our order was taken promptly and the food arrived quickly. It was tasty and good quality and well presented. Staff were attentive and friendly. This set us up for a great stay and breakfast in the restaurant each day was superb. There is no doubt that we will be staying there again.
Lovely server who couldn't have been more helpful. Food delicious. Will definitely be back.
An excellent location and restaurant for a family lunch to celebrate a Golden Wedding Anniversary. Food was very good, great service and staff were helpful, efficient and friendly.
Fantastic meal and drinks. The mussels were a particular highlight. Very friendly staff too.
Overpriced for the quality of the food.
Excellent service food is amazing and staff are very well mannered could not fault
1st time visitors and thoroughly impressed. A well deserved reputation for great food which I am keen to return to further explore 😁 Service could not have been better and a cracking setting. Genuinely impressed and thank you for a great experience.
Have been here under previous ownership and this is the first time I've been since to eat (have had coffee outside but no food) so wasn't sure what to expect. Needn't have worried - we had a great family meal, the staff were excellent, food of high quality (you can tell by the size of the mussels!) and cooked well. Good value. I would recommend The Boathouse for evening meal/Sunday lunches or just for a drink. We'll definitely be back.
Surprised how empty it was. Hence the low mark for atmosphere.
Excellent Service and food was delicious . Had salt and chilli chicken and my friend had fish and chips. My friend requested fish to be breaded which was no problem . Will definitely return
Lovely and relaxed, really friendly staff and delicious food. I am not vegan or vegetarian, but sometimes enjoy vegan or veggie food. I don't eat them when out often though as a lot of places serve pretty unimaginative and tasteless offerings. I had the vegan starter at The Boat House and it was absolutely delicious. Well done and thank you.
Our waitress was fantastic. Very attentive and friendly. For this reason alone I would return. Food was great and nice big portions.
Been going to The Boathouse since it opened (many years ago) & thought it couldn’t get any worse but since reopening it has I’m afraid. Limited menu to choose from with poor quality of what is ordered or served. The Service is appalling. Definitely not value for money which is a shame for such a great location. This will be our last visit!
Nice food, nice atmosphere...and really good service
can't fault the food or service but OMG what has happened.Holiday weekend and there were 12 people in the restaurant,so atmosphere was nil !I have been a customer of the Boathouse for many years and can remember when you had to book a week in advance for a table.Maybe priced yourself out of the market ?Coachman doing very good food at half the price. No they are not situated by the Marina but they have a full restaurant every weekend...….review your prices or sadly you will no longer be again
Lovely meal. Friendly staff provided a first class service.
Lovely ambience with the big roaring fire. My inlaws had the bread starter & some of the bread was still frozen & hard. We did let the waitress know & she said she would let the chef know, however, no one apologised & there was no offer of a gesture of goodwill which I thought would of been good customer service. Main meals were delicious & made up for the starter having frozen bread, everyone enjoyed the main meal. Unfortunately for dessert, I had the hot chocolate fondant & the sponge was dry but the chocolate sauce in the middle did ooze out. The main dish which 2 of us had, which was the Panko chicken with asian noodles was delicious. Overall, it was a nice evening for my inlaws Wedding Anniversary meal.
Very impressed with the new menu . What an improvement from the last time I visited( approx 2 years) Staff very attentive and professional Food was excellent .
Good choice on menu, nice food and really good service. I would definitely recommend a visit.
Lovely restaurant in a great location. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
