The Boathouse Pub Restaurant offers the very best food and wine in the picturesque setting of the Forth and Clyde canal marina. Scotland's world famous for its warmth of welcome and hospitality and you'll find it at the Boathouse Pub Restaurant.
The Boathouse Pub Restaurant aim to provide some of the very best of our country's rich store of fresh foods - there's no better reason for a visit.
Our goal is to create a great atmosphere for perfect lunches, light bites and dinners.
Service was extremely slow even when the restaurant was quiet for a Sunday evening.
Excellent service from extremely friendly staff, loved our afternoon tea, would definitely recommend.
A lovely family lunch at The Boathouse.
Excellent service throughout our visit. Service quick, meals were delicious and just the right atmosphere. Will fine again soon for sure.
Restaurant was dead on a Thursday evening which meant there was no atmosphere whatsoever
Had a fantastic night here for our Wedding Anniversary. Staff were first class. Very attentive and friendly.
The service was extremely slow we arrived at 6.30pm and didn’t receive our til after 8pm.
Food and service was first class.
Service excellent.Food (soup & fish pie ) very acceptable.
I've visited the Boathouse on my cycle trips for a tea break, ice-cream stop and for food - sitting inside or outside, weather permitting. I've also visited for lunch, dinner, drinks and family gatherings. Every visit has been great! Staff are always warm and friendly, food and drink is always excellent. This is one of my favourite restaurants, and I love the views along the canal. We all have our favourites - Stornoway black pudding, Baked Camembert, steak, fish, chicken, cocktails - all amazing!
Friendly server but Service was slow, few things from the menu were unavailable... food was bland and other in our party stated that food been better, don’t know if different chef 🤷♀️ Wouldn’t rush back
As ever our visit to you was great. My only issue is that you G/freemen needs to include things for those how have more than just gluten intolerance. Time to think of ramping up the vegetarian and vegan input. A little more imagination please guys? Thanks
We had a lovely time celebrating our Dads 65th birthday in the Boathouse! The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The food was fab too! Would definitely recommend your restaurant! We all had such an amazing time. Thank you...
We attended the Tribute night which was outstanding. Despite being very busy the service was still great and the food up to usual high standards. Piping hot and delicious. One of our favourite places. Thank you.
The meal choices for the Tribute night were limited. When my main meal arrived the chips were lukewarm . There were also no gluten free meals on offer, when I asked if there were any the waitress looked panicked stricken and said I have should have told them earlier. So I told her to leave it. I ordered the chicken and salad. The staff were overworked and were running around all evening so perhaps on these evenings you need a few more bodies. Tables ended up going to the bar themselves due to staff being so busy. The kitchen apparently can’t cope with dessert choices given after the main meal. We had to order our dessert at the start of the meal due to the kitchen needing to know we were told WHAT . This isn’t a negative feedback but helpful suggestions . Note to staff don’t seat people on the high round tables next to normal tables, this happened to us and totally blocked our view of the act. He did walk around but we missed a lot due to the view.
We had a lovely night at the Boathouse. The meal was excellent and as a non meat eater the choices I had were superb. This was the Tribute Night and the act was very good - The Boathouse should have more nights like this.
I booked the wee room for the Morgan club 20 folk. We all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch an excellent menu with great choice staff were all very nice and friendly. Will be back soon
Wait staff are great, really pleasant and helpful
1) waitress forgot to bring water to our table twice. 2) Plate I had was dodgy so everytime I tried to cut my french toast, it clattered all the time. Bad plate designs!
Food is rapidly going downhill. The Gourmet Burger had little to no pulled pork on it and the Black Pudding & Chorizo Salad was chilled & had no dressing. The side order of chunky chips arrived after we had finished our main. Disappointing for such a lovely setting.
The majority of our meal was very good, however the three burger meals were only luke warm. Although the server offered to take them back, we declined as it would have interrupted the meal too much. As small reduction in the cost would have been a pleasant gesture.
Lovely location and staff are very pleasant.
The tempura was too greasy and the pork loin not that tender. We had to request steak knives to cut the pork. Also the music was too loud and the 'wailing women' not that popular with our group.
Enjoyed my visit, sticky toffee pudding was a bit dry and hard however everything else location, atmosphere, starter and main was great. Friendly service as usual.
Very friendly staff could not be any more helpful
