Excellent food, service and ambiance.
Lovely food, lovely place, lovely people. Recommend.
Unfortunately, whatever we asked for became unavailable
Always a good meal and a great place to be with friends - food never lets you down! Staff attentive and friendly.
Awesome service from central reservations. On the day, some of the party arrived just before 10.30, we were 3 mins late and the lady in charge was not happy at all and had already castigated the early arrivals and pushed us to the table, getting frustrated that we weren’t sitting down quickly enough! She took orders for tea and coffee as we were sitting down, making us feel uncomfortable and tutting when everyone wasn’t listening as we were settling ourselves. Everything was a HUGE effort, like we were putting her out. We had another lady who was clearly uncomfortable with her behaviour who was trying to compensate for her, but honestly it wasn’t very relaxing as she clearly wanted to get us in and out as quickly as possible!! The menu offered any kind of egg and when I asked for scrambled she said it was either fried or poached!? I questioned her and the menu and again with a tut got my scrambled eggs. It was my 55th Birthday and a special occasion. There were 12 of us and it wasn’t cheap! The food was good but even when we asked for juice she told us that wasn’t included in our menu and walked off. The other waitress kindly came with carafes of juice for us and let us know they would be an extra charge. We asked for toast and again it was too much for her. It was my sons 20th birthday on the 27th and the plan was to book again for his birthday but not one of us felt comfortable. It was incredibly hard to enjoy! We ended up booking at Puckpool for my sons birthday breakfast where the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful and the cost was half the price. Much more cafe like but we could relax and enjoy his birthday!!
Great hospitality and food superb as always, so glad we stayed here a few months ago and discovered not just a friendly pub and B&B but a restaurant with fantastically prepared cuisine of top quality.
We were made to feel welcome on arrival. the restaurant was comfortably warm and had a good christmassy atmosphere. The staff were friendly, and the service was good. The food was delicious. Unfortunately my 1st choice of dessert had run out but I enjoyed my 2bd choice. I would recommend a visit.
Wonderful venue, delicious, well cooked food. Well worth every penny.
Excellent service , really quick . Food was really good and excellent value for money
Excellent planning procedure for my booking of 40 covers. Everybody commented favourably on the stylish venue and the whole ambience of the event. Special mention for Joel, who was extremely helpful and flexible with the menu planning. We will definitely make The Boathouse a regular haunt of ours. Thanks to everybody for running the event so smoothly for us.
Staff are always very friendly and helpful. Good table with plenty of room.
every member of staff was so lovely, very attentive, brilliant with the children we had dining with us. Will definitely be back.
Lovely Christmas meal.
Fab, love the boathouse
A most enjoyable evening!
Excellent value and friendly service
The deal was dreadful. Veal particularly bad an tough Panecotta grainy and set solid. We were really disappointed and had bought friends to enjoy what we thought would be a good night out. The waiter gave us two bottles of wine (free). Then shortly after explained this was a mistake and we ended up paying for a rubbish bottle of wine while the other was taken away. Supplements on most of the deal meals.
We were very disappointed when we visited the restaurant for Sunday lunch to find that the offer that was on your website was not available. We had young visitors staying that wanted to treat us to a meal and we liked the look of the offer menu with the the buy one get one free which did say it included Sunday lunch. I showed the staff the offer on my phone but the chef had not prepped any of the food for the offer and we were told it was a misprint. We had the roast. I just wished I had cooked at home because the vegetables were bland and there was no real flavour to anything. Also the lunch then cost a lot more than we expected. (A 2 lunch that would have cost £30 for 4 people cost over £50 for one disappointing course) The staff did give us a 10% discount and it was no fault of theirs. It is now nearly 7pm on Monday night and the misleading Sunday offer is still on the website. We felt embarrassed that we had suggested going there to our guests when they are on a limited budget.
Everything very good, but please sort out your car park it is appalling.
Great night as always at the Boathouse. Good food, drink and service.
We had a lovely meal with a stunning view over the Solent.
Excellent food, all Of us enjoyed delicious main course and deserts. Only criticism is the bar for drinks needs speeding up, had to wait far too long to get drinks. Otherwise service was good.
Really good value for the Friday night steak night. The white wine was lovely too. Really smooth and was Sauvignon Blanc.
Great food Great staff
