About The Blue River Cafe
The Blue River Café is situated on the banks of the river Thames and is the ideal place for customers to enjoy a long leisurely lunch or dinner looking out at the activity along the river.
We offer a warm welcome and great service along with excellent food at a reasonable price. We welcome families and our Sunday Carvery is a firm favourite with our regular guests.
When we got there it was shut
With the new menu the food is excellent - it is such a shame that it was so quiet - service was excellent, thank you
The food was good and my difficult needs we met except for decaf coffee. The waiter was friendly and helpful. We did enjoy our meal.
Staff courteous and friendly. Covid regulations adhered to completely. After a nearby family had left the restaurant, we asked if we could move to their table. The staff cleaned the table and chairs thoroughly for us, we felt very safe. Food and drink excellent. Very very enjoyable.
Visited with partner for Sunday lunch, lovely roasts, one beef, one pork with a really good selection of veg & great presentation. Sad to witness how quiet it was we were the only customers except for a group of 4 having a drink. Being local residents we so wish others were showing support for this local venue. Service was excellent only one disappointment that being only one choice of dessert. Would definitely recommend & have already done so since as would hate to loose this venue.Their tribute nights & Christmas parties have always been great. I know generally the place is looking run down but hopefully locals will support & that the refurbishment is able to go ahead. Thank you to the staff on 18/10.
Thanks a million Really enjoyed our lunch xxx
I booked for a brunch. On arrival the restaurant was being cleaned and we were not expected. The kitchen complained about having to cook for us. We were only offered the set English breakfast at £10/head which is usually for hotel guests. Booking slots should not be available when the restaurant is closed! Very disappointed.
No one made us feel welcome.
we enjoyed Food, Atmosphere, Service everything was just right. very happy with everything.
Service was slow. Very restricted menu - food and drink
We booked a table outside, however we were given a table that was floating in the mud, with no light but one close to it full with mosquitos. No table cloth. The burger was good, although it didn’t have lettuce gems in it at all, just plastic-like salad. Service was good, the waiter really did his best.
It would have been helpful if when phoned that staff knew where the public could moor their boat when coming for a meal. There was quite a bit of food on the floor around our table when we arrived.
The staff were friendly and attentive. An enjoyable evening in strange times.
First time at hotel&rrestaurant will be back soon
Very slow service waited 20 mins before even being asked if we wanted a drink very limited drinks menu waitress did not know the menu is when I asked for a Thames riviera burger ( named after the hotel ) she said is that a beef burger
Had a lovely relaxed lunch at the Blue River Cafe. The riverside tables have been beautifully set out with screens in between each one. The new Barbeque Menu is smaller than usual but very tasty, and the chips were just amazing! Very friendly staff who took time to chat to us.
not a great covid comeback
Very expensive menu not much choice
