About The Blue Crown
The Blue Crown a family friendly Pub & Restaurant in Brentwood, Essex and part of The Blue Group. Our aim is to serve the good quality food, draught beers, ales and craft beers in a friendly pub and dining room.
We came to the blue crown for my mum’s birthday, expecting a special meal, we did not receive anything near that. Our starters were pleasant. However, two of the main meals (ribs) turned up cold, my mother’s beef noodle dish with ‘nuts, seasame seeds and vegetables’ turned up with nothing of the sort, there were no nuts, seeds or vegetables, just beef and noodles, when we complained, the waitress bought out a small bowl of nuts to add to my mum’s bowl which was laughable. One of the lamb dishes was supposed to come with a lamb bon bon however, when this was bit into, it was discovered that the chef’s had put a goats cheese bon bon by error on the plate. This was my sister’s dish and she is allergic to cheese, this is not good enough. After we complained the manager on the night did not even bother to come over and apologise or find out what the problems were he made the young waitress deal with it. The restaurant was completely empty as we came in on a Tuesday night, therefore there is absolutely no excuse for this.
First visit to The Blue Crown, after being recommended.. Really enjoyed the afternoon and lived up to expectations. Will definitely return.
Evening was spoilt by a screaming toddler where the adults on the table encouraged the child to scream.....this was at 9.30pm! We sat down at 8pm. We spoke to the manager and asked to be moved nothing was done. The cost of the evening was £150 per couple and it was like being in mcdonalds.
It was very quiet for a Friday so no atmosphere. Staff were very attentive. Compared to the competition we felt it was expensive and devoid of any extras and selection was limited.
Manager was rude and patronising she needs to learn some people skills
Great service and a lovely restaurant. Great Prosecco or gin deal, would highly recommend
lovely place, excellent service a all round nice afternoon. Just a shame that the sandwiches were a bit sparse. Given a thinly sliced tomato as a sandwich filling is not my idea of a sandwich. But i would probably go back again for lunch as i see some being served and it looked lovely.
Had an enjoyable visit. The cakes were in broken slices not easy to manage tasted good. the rest of the food was fine. Good value for the price paid but would not want to pay full price. Second visit.
I booked The Blue Crown for a surprise meal for my Mum's 60th birthday for 8 of us. The team were amazing from the moment I booked to us leaving. I took in balloons and a cake which they set up on the table and bought the cake out after our mains so we had it as pudding. Was a great lunch - thanks to all those who helped!
We had to ask for our Prosecco ten minutes after sitting down , we then had to ask another 3 times for the glasses to be refilled
Had a lovely Saturday lunch -food was excellent as were the staff. Very professional and attentive but not over the top.
I had a lovely time at the Blue Crown but i just thought the service was to fast with the food so we had no time to drink our prosecco. Other than that it was nice.
Very nice food
Had a fantastic meal at the bottomless prosecco lunch, we did opt for dessert and we all agreed it was outstanding, compliments to the chef! Service and dj was fantastic!
Great staff really helpful. Shame despite me calling numerous times to confirm the menu as we preordered for lots of guests the menu changed again, food was brought out that we hadn’t ordered eg. Goats cheese instead of goats cheese croquettes. Not necessary the waitresses /waiters fault but a bit frustrating when you have organised for a large group. That said the staff were good and the food was really nice
Had a great night watching Elvis. Highly recommend
Beautiful lunch, food was amazing and staff are so friendly and helpful.
Lovely Just need to keep asking for more tea could have been asked
I think my first comment would be around when i booked i was told i could only have the table for a certain amount of time; the restaurant on a Friday lunchtime (12:45)was empty and lacked any atmosphere. We left at 2:30 and were the last to leave. No lunch set meal so we went for the limited lunch menu. The table was covered in long dark hairs and i asked the waitress to change my serviette immediately as covered in human hair, the food was ok , the service was good but the worse bit was the pudding; sticky toffee for all of us, took us a minute to work out the unusual taste; underneath the suace was a burnt layer disguised fairly well by lashings of sauce, the accompanying custard was cold. 80 quick for three mains and diets cokes and coffee; sorry but the restaurant and food is really not that good;
All 18 of us had such a fabulous day/night for a friends hen party. Your pub is beautiful, the food was amazing and we danced the night away - Can’t wait to come back Thank you to all xx
We were really put off when we witnessed a waiter go to the toilet and not wash his hands.
Couldn't really rate atmosphere since I went for a late afternoon tea. My experience and the friendlyness of the staff makes me want to try lunch.
Waited over an hour for our starters and longer for the mains. Restaurant gave us the meal for free
The food was excellent and in a really good atmosphere.
Very happy overall. Big party of 21 and service was amazing. Friendly and helpful staff. Thank you.
