About The Blue Boar
Traditional English Restaurant with a twist
Having lived 600 mtrs from the Blue Boar over 60 years ago, it was a trip down memory lane. It has changed since then, but what a lovely asset for the village.Friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere, and more to the point a good menu, and good food. Wish I lived closer, would eat there often.
went for dinner Easter Sunday evening and stayed for the rest of the evening, lovely people serving lovely food, music thrown in free, will be there again when in the area.. thank you
When we arrived we waited for over 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. We stood at the bar as there was know one to greet us & take us to our table. The bar staff served everyone who approached from the pub side & proceeded to ignore us waiting on the opposite side. Starters were expensive, Lasagne was served with brown bread not ciabatta. Felt sorry for the fish stuck in a well! Nothing about the evening or venue would make me go back!
Excellent food, friendly helpful staff we will definitely be back.
I chose the Blue Boar for a family meal and they loved it, particularly the witty waiter.
Excellent meal and great service and the restaurant was lovely. Would definitely come back
A quintessential cosy inn - we had a lovely time and the New Year's Eve party was great fun. Lovely hosts!
Always had good food and excellent service on each and every visit.
The food was amazing and the waiting and bar staff all really friendly and helpful. Although we don't live nearby we will be making the trip to visit again.
Me and my partner enjoyed a lovely meal for our anniversary here. I had the gammon and my partner had the turkey dinner. When it came out they bought the wrong meal but they quickly changed it and were very apologetic. A lovely meal and atmosphere. The waiters were lovely and very chatty.
Good food and portion size. Friendly service.
Yet again we had a lovely Sunday lunch. Very welcoming, really nice, reasonably priced food. Atmosphere is always good. We will be back soon.
Table service very good. Food tasty. Very enjoyable experience.
Very pleased with everything. We will be coming back on 23 October for my wife’s birthday. Very cosy fantastic food
Excellent meal and wonderful stay over. Couldn’t fault it.
Great place lovely staff
The service was fantastic from everyone at the blue boar. The food was wonderful and nothing was too much the staff were so kind and helpful
Excellent food and service as usual.
Looking forward to next time .
A lovely evening to celebrate our anniversary, great food.
Starters and puddings were lovely and tasted. Sadly not so good on the mains. 2 sirloin steaks were ordered - one rare and one medium. Both had no pink in them whatsoever and both were smothered in peppercorns which made the steaks too hot to eat. They were dry and chewy. Nothing on the menu about peppercorns - would not recommend this dish. Coffees were ordered but forgotten about. Service could of been better - although a nice touch with the musical birthday flowers.
Excellent food, as always, unfortunately we were the only two in the restaurant so there was little or no atmosphere. Shame, as this is such a beautiful setting. The 'lunch time specials' menu is exceptional value considering the quality and choice.
Lovely menu choice and friendly efficient service
Great meal. Great service.
Fabulous food and service. Lovely location. Recomended
