Very pleased with food, variety on the menu, and service.
Thank you Blaney bar for a very enjoyable stay. I'm sorry to hear that you are having to close. I wish you all well and hope you're bar is open soon.
Over priced food nothing special. Small portions.
Small portions, side salad was just green leaves with dressing, smoked bacon was just cheap streaky bacon on the borbon fillet beef burger
Staff great and excellent service. Food was OK, but to be honest it was more what I choose rather than a problem with the food. Always enjoyed all food previously eaten at this restaurant.
The whole area felt really chilly and the fire was not on. Apparently the concierge has control of the heating and he/she was nor working that evening?? I find this hard to believe at 7.30pm in a 5 star hotel. I had to go back to my room to get a fleece jacket to wear. Service was slow, the food was fine, the chowder was especially good. Our dinner was included in our package. A service charge if £17.40 was applied to our bill for this bar meal. That is a ridiculous amount to charge for very basic service. I do think that if we return I would ask for the service charge to be removed. I would rather tip directly if service is good.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meals at the Blaney Bar. Menu was accommodating to our diet and the atmosphere was lovely. Staff are beyond friendly and attentive, a true credit to the resort. We even visited again before leaving as we loved the views over the lough and felt very comfortable in the bar. Highly recommend.
Staff helpful and friendly
A little more light and some music
Food was lovely just what we needed and staff were excellent
I wish we’d checked the young waiters name he was extremely helpful and well above and beyond what was required He was the youngest guy there if that helps to identify him
sadly our experience in the Blaney bar almost ruined our 2 night break. We booked our meal well in advance and arrived in good time to be shown to a table beside the exit door to the patio. The door was open as bar staff were serving people on the patio. The door was wedged open and the strong. Cold breeze was blowing off the lake making it an extremely uncomfortable place to sit, my wife was immediately cold and any food would quickly have gone cold, so we asked to be moved to one of the other empty tables. We were told try his was not possible as the restaurant was fully booked but nobody could tell me why we had been allocated that table. I think the most I got was a shrug of the shoulders. We were move to a low table in the rear of the bar. No apology from the manager , no attempt to find another table and nobody bothered to tell us that our inclusive meal had a value limit of £30 - Due to the uncomfortable eating arrangements my wife only had a main course and a few drinks. On signing for the bill I noticed that despite spending only £40 on food and £20 on drinks the bill was £86, which included a 10% service charge on the notional £60 food bill! Throughout the evening the dining table in front of us remained unoccupied and it seemed that walk-ins were also being allocated to proper tables. To top it off the food was nothing special - chowder was somewhat insipid. My advice - dine in the golf club, at least they try to make it a pleasant experience.
Hotel has stunning views and the staff where lovely but I feel the only thing that’s make it a 5 star is the golf course. Had food in Blaney Bar which was very disappointing, menu was very limited not much of a variety of food, we ordered cocktails which turned out to be a few pound cheaper than are main course which was not good value for money.
Arrived on Sunday and had a really enjoyable evening in the Blaney Bar.Food was lovely and service excellent
Brilliant food and service
Lovely bar and food was first class. However, would be nice to have more of a variety.
Good food and excellent staff
The fact we were calling for lunch after a mountain walk/run and got wet they were very helpful as to get us showers To get cleaned up 👌
Enjoyed our dinner very much lovely food will definitely come back
Only downgraded atmosphere because of social distancing. Unable to interact with other guests
We had a very simple bowl of soup lunch. Far too too long a wait for such s simple order..... especially when not particularly busy. Soup very nice but tepid and stodgy soda bread.. £13.50 for 2 is about £5 too much... Guess paying for "5star" grading?? Ridiculous £1.50 service charge which on request was duly deducted So not really that enamoured. Not complaining for its own sake.... Was hoping for a 2 day golfing stay at some point but hope this brief experience is not a deterrent. Thank you. Sorry. A Gilpin
beautiful food and fabulous service just what we needed !
All staff were extremely helpful, friendly and attentive
Excellent food and staff. Well worth a visit.
