About The Black Horse - Little Weighton
Little Weighton is one of those villages that feels like it’s miles away but is ideally situated about a 10 minutes drive from Cottingham, Beverley, Willerby, South Cave and Brough. In the heart of this picturesque village sits The Black Horse which has offered refreshments to villagers and guests for over 200 years
Since taking on the then failing pub late in 2011, Micaela and her team have transformed The Black Horse into an award winning, true destination pub. Exceptional food mixed with friendly service, stylish, comfortable surroundings and a gin & tonic list to rival even the trendiest city centre bar make The Black Horse well worth travelling a little out of your way for.
Our menu features much loved pub classics and traditional British dishes re-invented with an imaginative twist and skilful cooking. The emphasis is on good locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and when available produce from our own (or our neighbours) gardens and allotments.
Had an absolutely fabulous meal for my Mum’s Birthday. Fantastic atmosphere and service. The food (all three courses!) was delicious.
I love this place! And cannot recommend it enough. My family has booked 3 large family gatherings here and we have always enjoyed the experience. The food is excellent. Portions are generous. The service is outstanding - all staff are extremely friendly, polite and helpful. A hidden gem.
Another lovely night at the Horse.
A pleasant evening at the Black Horse
We spent a lovely Friday evening at The Black Horse Little Weighton, celebrating two family birthdays. The atmosphere and friendly service were wonderful and careful attention was paid to providing us with accurate allergy information when requested. The menu was good with both traditional and more unusual dishes to choose from, which suited everyone in our party. The food was well presented and fresh. We had dinner in the restaurant, alternatively you could also eat in the bar, which was very homely, especially as the nights are now drawing in. I would recommend a visit to The Black Horse if you haven't already, we will definitely be returning.
First class venue, spotlessly clean, excellent professional service. This was our first visit and we all thoroughly enjoyed it many thanks, we will certainly be returning.
Our first visit but definitely not the last, perfect service and great food.
our first visit to the Restaurant here and had a lovely meal and great service. Great choice of gluten free dishes. We asked about Christmas Day menu and would have loved to have returned for that but felt £95 pp was too costly.
Great service & absolutely excellent meal. We all had a lovely evening at the Black Horse on Friday!
Excellent food. Stomach ache after as i couldn't stop eating!!
Excellent food and service.
A group of 8 had a lovely evening at the Black Horse. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. We were waiting a while between courses which was ok but we had to go find a member of staff to order some more drinks. We were not rushed even though we were the last ones to leave. We will certainly visit again.
Lovely pub with great food, would definitely come again if we come back to Yorkshire.
Another great experience at the Black horse. Great food and service. Can't fault it!
Great valve for money. great food.
Had excellent service and lovely food in a very relaxed atmosphere. One of my favourite places to eat.
Beautiful Sunday Lunch. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Between the four of us, two adults and two children, we had the beef, turkey and pork. All were beautifully cooked and presented. The helpings were generous and the kids portions were nearly as big as ours. The unlimited vegetables went down particularly well as we all loved the carrots, parsnips, broccoli and cabbage. The plentiful roast potatoes were lovely, as was the Yorkshire pudding and gravy. I can’t comment on the desserts as we were all too full! A lovely place and a great value Sunday lunch, made special by the friendly staff, great quality food and generous helpings. Highly recommended.
Brilliant service, delicious food lovely ambiance
Excellent food! A lovely place to visit
Service was a little slow , kept waiting about an hour after ordering, also the icecream was disappointing that came with the sticky toffee pudding it seemed like a low cost option but not very tasty. Staff were very friendly and polite. We will visit again.
Been visiting the Black Horse on and off for several years and it’s always reliable. Excellent open fish pie and pork belly at the moment. Bar is cosy and extensive gin menu.
Great place, great food and service. Highly recommend.
Excellent food as usual. Great rapport
Imi looked after our table and was outstandingly pleasant and efficient. Food was very good. We will come again.
