About The Black Horse - Little Weighton
Little Weighton is one of those villages that feels like it’s miles away but is ideally situated about a 10 minutes drive from Cottingham, Beverley, Willerby, South Cave and Brough. In the heart of this picturesque village sits The Black Horse which has offered refreshments to villagers and guests for over 200 years
Since taking on the then failing pub late in 2011, Micaela and her team have transformed The Black Horse into an award winning, true destination pub. Exceptional food mixed with friendly service, stylish, comfortable surroundings and a gin & tonic list to rival even the trendiest city centre bar make The Black Horse well worth travelling a little out of your way for.
Our menu features much loved pub classics and traditional British dishes re-invented with an imaginative twist and skilful cooking. The emphasis is on good locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and when available produce from our own (or our neighbours) gardens and allotments.
Fantastic food and great service.
Absolutely wonderful meal, fantastic service, will definitely be going back here and would thoroughly recommend it
Little disappointed table booked for 7pm but had to wait till 7.30 to order and never got out table till 8pm Food was good but mine was only warm not nice and hot
The food was excellent and the staff could not have done more for us. Can’t wait to visit again!
All 7 of us enjoyed our meal . We were too full to order a pudding. We have booked again and we hope to be able to attend in April however it depends on the Coronavirus as we are in-the at risk age group. Keeping our fingers crossed .
We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch. Our friends from North Yorks thought it was the best Sunday lunch they had tasted in years Thank You We will be back Andrew and Cathy
Perfect Sunday lunch, great food, great service . Will definitely be back soon.
We will definitely be back this was our first visit, but won't be our last
The whole experience was excellent. I have never had scollops cooked to perfection like that before. All the staff were so friendly and excellent at their role. Many thanks indeed
A cosy, warm and very pleasant atmosphere with professional service and top quality food combined to make for a memorable evening
Whilst pricier than we would normally pay , £34 for two mains and one alcoholic , one soft drink, quality was very good. Service was friendly an efficient. Steak and ale pie was excellent good level of veg, looking round portions generally big. My calamari was well cooked and lovely salsa but the skinny chips whilst tasty were a small portion. Overall excellent and would come again
Lovely relaxing meal excellent food friendly staff
Fantastic food and Service. We have never been to the Black Horse but will certainly go for Sunday lunch again.
Great food as always.
Lovely food as usual...service is superb.
Everything was really good, however, service a little slow when it came to taking our mains order and similarly when trying to order our deserts and finally when trying to get the bill. The restaurant was very busy. Staff very accommodating with our 18month old grandson. Will certainly visit again in the near future.
This is a fine dinning experience and just gets better each time we go! We loved the minor changes since our last visit .
Excellent meal . We seven of us enjoyed our meal . The steak pie is superb very meaty lots of vegetables and extra gravy. The skinny burgers were amazing . We are definitely going back and we have booked again showing how good we rate it .
We all meet up once a month for a meal somewhere different and We all agreed last night it was one of the nicest meals we have had in a while
Food was excellent and the staff were polite and friendly. This was our first visit and we will definitely be going again. I would strongly recommend giving the Black horse a try.
Been for Sunday Lunch a few times food always excellent good selection of vegetables and you can ask for more. Service can occasionally be a little slow but only because they can be extremely busy and I prefer that to being rushed. Have also been on a Saturday good selection on the menu for all appetites. Highly recommend giving it a try.
First visit for some of us in the group and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely be back.
Good food and service and a wide ranging menu
Lovely place for food and nice quiet atmosphere
Friendly and welcoming,
