About The Black Horse - Little Weighton
Little Weighton is one of those villages that feels like it’s miles away but is ideally situated about a 10 minutes drive from Cottingham, Beverley, Willerby, South Cave and Brough. In the heart of this picturesque village sits The Black Horse which has offered refreshments to villagers and guests for over 200 years
Since taking on the then failing pub late in 2011, Micaela and her team have transformed The Black Horse into an award winning, true destination pub. Exceptional food mixed with friendly service, stylish, comfortable surroundings and a gin & tonic list to rival even the trendiest city centre bar make The Black Horse well worth travelling a little out of your way for.
Our menu features much loved pub classics and traditional British dishes re-invented with an imaginative twist and skilful cooking. The emphasis is on good locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and when available produce from our own (or our neighbours) gardens and allotments.
Thoroughly enjoyed meal and visit - will be returning... Only thing - please provide jugs of water complimentary -important when drinking alcohol!
Really lovely place. The food was beautiful, the staff ever so organised and polite. I can't fault it. Thanl you all.
An excellent local restaurant to meet friends over a meal. Good menu, food and service.
Great evening out with friends. Staff very attentive and observant, clearly well trained and with the right aptitude. Food very high quality and definitely one of the best restaurants in East Yorkshire.
The food and drink was very good without being overly fancy, just as I like it! The service was good, the staff attentive and pleasant, just one mild case of forgetfulness. The room was clean, well decorated and relaxing. The cost was not cheap, but was fair & reasonable. My party of four all had a really pleasant evening, a two course meal and drinks and felt we got value for money. We'll be back
We had a fabulous meal. A chef had gone off sick very suddenly so we had a very long wait for our meals but this was understandable. The food was excellent as always. Staff very pleasant too.
Very nice meal, especially good at catering for for food allergies. Staff were friendly and helpful and the cost was good value
Delicious meal with lots of interesting choices. Very enjoyable evening as ever.
Always a brilliant Sunday Lunch and the "Real Steak and Ale Pie" was sensational
Popped in for a drink and luckily we managed to get a table so we could eat, so we made an evening of it. Food was superb as always, we both tried something we hadn’t had here before. For me the duck and Steve fish pie. Both very happy with our choices. Staff lovely as always, smiley and attentive.
Great food and great service (only fault was a forgotten coffee order) at reasonable prices when compared to similar dining pubs locally. Only criticism is limited choice of vegatarian meals. Impressed with the options to taste a new beer when the keg ran out. This is now our go-to pub for casual dining! Well done everyone.
Excellent! Lovely food, great service.
Visited with friends for the first time. Choice of menu was excellent and food did not disappoint. I was even able to enjoy my favourite drink, a kir, I was provided with raspberry cassia to add to white wine. Fantastic service and we will definitely return.
We were disappointed on arrival to find our table occupied so that we had to wait. We then asked if we could use a smaller table and this was sorted out so,we were about 20 mins later than we should have been. Food and staff were both excellent however.
A most enjoyable experience and would recommend the Black Horse to anyone.
Beautiful Sunday roast, cooked to perfection!
Lovely staff and atmosphere. Staff very polite and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks available. Food was lovely but portions wouldn't be good for the 'big eater'
My wife and I visited for the first time and really enjoyed the whole experience. Both the Cod and the Steak&Ale pie were excellent. We will be back soon.
It was our first visit but will definitely not be our last. Friendly and efficient staff. Food was excellent one of the best steak and ale pies we have ever had. Good choice of food and well presented.
As usual food was excellent and so was the service. The only niggle was the price of a large wine,£9 for a Sauvignon Blanc,a bit steep even in the best restaurants!!!
Always a super place to eat out in. Got to be one of the best if not the best local eatery and that is the opinion of three generations of our family.
Really lovely food and attentive staff, will definitely go back
Thankyou for taking the time to leave us a review Laura, we really do appreciate it. Kind regards Micaela & team
I live in Essex, visiting friends who live in potterton drive, enjoyed our meal. Will visit next time in Hull
Excellent food Service for drinks a little slow
