About The Black Horse - Little Weighton
Little Weighton is one of those villages that feels like it’s miles away but is ideally situated about a 10 minutes drive from Cottingham, Beverley, Willerby, South Cave and Brough. In the heart of this picturesque village sits The Black Horse which has offered refreshments to villagers and guests for over 200 years
Since taking on the then failing pub late in 2011, Micaela and her team have transformed The Black Horse into an award winning, true destination pub. Exceptional food mixed with friendly service, stylish, comfortable surroundings and a gin & tonic list to rival even the trendiest city centre bar make The Black Horse well worth travelling a little out of your way for.
Our menu features much loved pub classics and traditional British dishes re-invented with an imaginative twist and skilful cooking. The emphasis is on good locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and when available produce from our own (or our neighbours) gardens and allotments.
Excellent Covid19 precautions. We felt safe throughout the meal and in all areas. Food fabulous as ever. Thank you!
The food and service was superb. We were staying at Rowley Manor for the weekend and ate at the Blackhorse both nights of our stay. We will certainly be coming back. Keep up the good work and compliments to the chef.
Thank you for the amazing food and atmosphere... would be great if there where more vegetarian options . Will be recommending to others.and be visiting again.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Felt totally safe as things were well organised, sanitised and tables spaced out.
Food very good, staff friendly.
Excellent lunch, service first class. Social distancing we’ll respected, i will be coming back soon.
This restaurant is the best place we have come across in East Yorkshire. The food is to die for and the bar is just lovely. The steak pie is sensational.
The biggest surprise is the contrast between inside and outside so don't be put off by the style of the building, inside its beautifully presented with a cosy front bar and a spacious restaurant at the rear. We have visited several times, the Sunday lunch is excellent and whilst the al la carte menu isn't extensive, there's enough choice and the food is of a high quality. We will undoubtedly be back soon
We were adequately spaced out, the ventilation was good and hand sanitser on each table, so we felt safe and comfortable.
Excellent meal and very safe
Absolutely brilliant service from our waitress - very friendly and attentive. Food was tasty and delivered in a timely but not rushed fashion - we really enjoyed our visit!
Great staff excellent food . My wife and I will dined there on Tuesday and we wasn't aware that this venue was taking part in the government scheme . We enjoyed the meal and paid the bill and went back to our holiday lodge . We then received a phone call from Michaela saying that they had forgotten to apply the discount. How very honest so we went back and had another excellent meal the next day . Both days staff were tip top . We wished we lived nearer , we would definitely go again
First time visit to The Black Horse. Me and my wife both had the steak and ale pie, and both agreed that it was one of the best pies we've had in a pub. The meal was delicious. Value for money was great because of the 50% Eat Out to Help Out scheme, but the meal was so nice that it would have been worth full value anyway. The service was also second to none. A very nice treat.
Fantastic food and service as usual, it's great to be back.
Great service, Covid measures in place don’t detract from the atmosphere but are extensive and everything felt very safe. The food was absolutely lovely as were all of the staff - thanks for our lovely lunch.
Excellent food and lovely service. Top marks!
Excellent as always even in these strange times would highly recommend
Great to be back - Covid precautions well in place, great food served by friendly staff. Excellent all-round!
Been visiting The Black Horse for 6 years or so & never had anything but exceptional service, food & a warm and friendly welcome!!
Great evening and felt very safe due to the safety measures. Food was superb.
Consistently good food, service and atmosphere Would highly recommend as place to eat or just have a drink
All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Salted caramel ice cream too salty for our taste but the lemon meringue was delicious. Tables were nicely spread out and we felt very comfortable.
Great food as always. Even though first night back after lockdown wide choice on menu
Excellent food and ambience. Will certainly return.
