About The Black Horse - Little Weighton
Little Weighton is one of those villages that feels like it’s miles away but is ideally situated about a 10 minutes drive from Cottingham, Beverley, Willerby, South Cave and Brough. In the heart of this picturesque village sits The Black Horse which has offered refreshments to villagers and guests for over 200 years
Since taking on the then failing pub late in 2011, Micaela and her team have transformed The Black Horse into an award winning, true destination pub. Exceptional food mixed with friendly service, stylish, comfortable surroundings and a gin & tonic list to rival even the trendiest city centre bar make The Black Horse well worth travelling a little out of your way for.
Our menu features much loved pub classics and traditional British dishes re-invented with an imaginative twist and skilful cooking. The emphasis is on good locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and when available produce from our own (or our neighbours) gardens and allotments.
We have just had Christmas lunch and it was delicious plenty of food so we had more the next day . Thank you!!!
We’ve been a few times now and have convinced friends and family to visit too...service, food and atmosphere are lovely. And added bonus we can bring our dog!
We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch and will definitely be back.
Great food, great service, we’ll be back as soon as we can be!
Lovely Sunday lunch. Vegetarian option was delicious too. Service was friendly and very good. Thank you very much, we will be back as soon as we are able.
Another lovely meal, really enjoyed our roast. Such a lovely cosy atmosphere too. Thank you everyone 💓. X
We had another fabulous meal and wonderful evening as always the Black Horse hospitality was second to none! Thanks Micaela ,Wendy and the TEAM for a night we can savour through the next lockdown!!
Great Sunday lunch, excellent service and ambiance despite COVID rules. Felt safe and reassured with safety measures
Best Sunday lunch in the area !!
Great place, great people and great food what’s not to like. Really feel for staff and owner with the efforts they have gone to regarding COVID making it feel safe and comfortable now having to close again. Hope to visit again soon.
My only criticism would be that the Yorkshire Puddings were too crispy otherwise very good all round, particularly the roast beef which was some of the best I’ve tasted! 👍
We enjoyed a delicious lunch in very safe setting. Very pleasant staff, very helpful, gave us the quiet table we requested. Happy to recommend the Black Horse -Little Weighton.
The food and drink we had yesterday was amazing. Fantastic value for money and a really nice atmosphere. Given the times we felt it was a really safe experience as the Covid measures in place were superb (individual hand sanitiser on each table). We’ll be back again for sure post lockdown.
Always a pleasure to go to the black horse. Good luck with the lockdown.
Fantastic food, really enjoyable evening.
Food was excellent, some changes in menu which was welcomed. I personally prefer to dine in the bar area, it’s cosy and comfortable. Staff are always pleasant and obliging. It’s my go to local place to eat. I shall be sorry to see it close during lockdown.
Excellent service and food
Lovely meal & service.
Waitress was amazing and lovely food. Thank you
Delicious food and very friendly and helpful staff.
Both my wife & I really enjoyed our meal in the bar. The food was very nice as was our choice of wine. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. Will certainly return again. Thank you
Very relaxed atmosphere, tables well spaced apart. Food was excellent
Wonderful food and excellent service. Upmarket venue with a lovely friendly atmosphere and very courteous staff. Have visited on many occasions and always 5star. Highly recommend.
Sunday Lunch was lovely, already booked our next visit.
We never go out for Sunday lunch as I don’t think you can beat a home cooked meal. My family and I should of been celebrating my husbands 60th but due to Covid19 it was reduced to ‘table for two’ We both think the food is excellent here at the B.H. so we decided to have a Sunday lunch and we can honestly say it was cooked to perfection. The B.H. never fails, with the food, service and charm.
