About The Bistro at Hilton Coylumbridge
The Bistro’s atmosphere is cool and calm, with contemporary colours and soft lighting, as well as an extensive chalkboard menu featuring daily specials. Join us for an array of inspired and traditional dishes, including piri piri chicken; vegetarian dishes including primavera risotto; and a selection of steaks and accompanying sauces to suit everyone.
Attentive staff who dealt well with a food allergy. Took the time to explain my options, checked with the chef and made recommendations for dishes. Nice meal if a bit pricy for what it was.
It was so dark I had to use my phone torch to read the menu. Food was good, and the kids enjoyed theirs.
Food was as expected for a chain hotel, slightly overpriced for the quality but everyone ate most of what was on the plates so can’t have been that bad! Service was variable. Very pleasant greeting and chef available to support a member of my party with special dietary needs, however staff availability to help during service was limited despite plenty of staff being available. Staff need to make themselves more visible to diners and circulate the room rather than diners having to approach the bar for assistance. Overall a 3.5/5 experience.
Much better value than the family buffet. Staff excellent.
Great service, friendly staff and child friendly
Relaxed family dining. Food and service very good.
Mags and Gary amazing service as always
Staff had excellent customer care skills.
Excellent food and service as always.
Had a lovely meal, staff very friendly and made to feel welcome.
We had a lovely meal on Saturday 24th Feb. Food was delicious and service was excellent. All the staff were friendly and very helpful especially Donna.
We had a delicious family meal, with fabulous service from very friendly, welcoming staff who couldn't have done more to make our evening stand out.
Lovely evening family meal - well looked after.
I ate in the Bistro on a Saturday evening. I'd made a late booking (9pm) to avoid the bulk of the families with young kids, of which there are always a lot in this hotel. The Bistro was about half full when I arrived but there was no table ready for me even though I had a booking. While I stood waiting, I watched the live music act in the foyer of the hotel, who seemed to be entertaining some sort of birthday gathering. There were a fair few kids running around unsupervised too, which is one of my bug-bears about this hotel. Yes, I know it makes me sound like a grump but I like kids. Just not running around screaming when you are trying to have a quiet drink with friends or read. There is nowhere at all quite in this hotel. Anyway, the music in the foyer was quite loud. This seems to be usual for a weekend evening - some local live performer doing mainly covers. But the volume was up high enough to the extent that even in the Bistro, when my server came to tell me my table was ready and asked me something, I couldn't actually hear what he said. He repeated "would you like to see the wine list?". I heard him the second time and said yes. Off we went to my table and I was glad it was as far away as possible from the singer with his guitar (who was actually good, just the volume was high and frankly not what I signed up for). Anyway, as I settled into my table, I realised there was also music playing in the Bistro, from a speaker behind the screen, next to which I was sitting. So I had some good pre-recorded music playing in my right ear and the live guy with guitar in the foyer in my left ear. Value for money I guess :-) The servers were all very pleasant, happy and nice to speak with. The food was very good. Nice soup followed by a good steak and very good side salad. I had a glass of wine too. The service, food and drink were all spot on. I actually prefer the menu in the Bistro to the Inverdruie restaurant. Which leaves me with a quandary when I stay at this hotel, because the surroundings are more pleasant in the Inverdruie. What lets the Bistro down to an extent is a lack of ambience of its own, combined with whatever is going on in the foyer imposing itself on the Bistro. Elements of the room itself feel like a school dining hall, especially the dropped ceiling with square tiles, which is exactly what my school had in classrooms and the dining hall. Thankfully the food and service is a hell of a lot better!
Member of staff Keith was fantastic with the children. It took awhile for food to be delivered but he helped keep them entertained. All staff friendly and helpful
The meal was lovely, the payment was so confusing with the ‘inclusive’ deals and who paid for what, when.
Really nice meal, attentive staff, they could not have been more helpful. Food good, especially the boar and chorizo burger.
A very good meal, served by friendly and welcoming staff. A minor detail was quickly sorted by the lead lady on the evening, thank you. We will be back.
Very friendly staff and good atmosphere
We ate here in 24th december. The staff were fantastic; so helpful, attentive and most usefully intuitive. We were there with a 1 and 3 year old and nothing was a bother. Food was delicious; def recommend the crayfish starter cod risotto. Thank you
Noticed a large increase in the cost of a bottle of wine.
