About The Bieldside Inn
Situated to the west of Aberdeen, but within the city limits, The Bieldside Inn offers various areas of relaxation and dining space to suit your mood including the lounge bar, restaurant and outdoor balcony. During the warmer months the restaurant expands on to the balcony for an inside/outside dining experience. Since PB Devco's takeover of The Bieldside Inn in October 2011, "The Bielder" (as it is affectionately named by locals), has gone from strength to strength, offering customers new vibrant food menus and high levels of service. The menus are regularly changed, but the old favourites are never far away. The restaurant is open every day and offers a range of traditional Scottish and pub food with a few slightly more exotic creations thrown in for good measure. The Bieldside Inn also offers a function room with a private bar, perfect for wine tastings, parties or corporate seminars. "The Bielder" has built and maintained a reputation for high levels of service and delicious, quality food menus, why not come down and see for yourself?
Always great service!
Best roast dinner in Aberdeen. Nice friendly service, child friendly too. Highly recommend
Food and presentation appalling !!!
Excellent food, pleasant staff and great service
Lovely afternoon tea!!
New menu less expensive. More seafood. More likely to use regularly now.
Felt lunch Menu was pretty limited.
Good food all round and the waiting staff were very helpful. If i had one issue, i would like some more garnish (tomatoes / onion rings / coleslaw) with my burger which was a otherwise lovely.
Excellent food & service
No problem with the drinks and prices. Ordered pork belly - a very small portion for £15 which is expensive for a main meal. My husband ordered the steak with chips. It was hanger steak which is a cheap cut and very chewy. A plate full of very average cooked chips which you could have got better at the local chippy. £17 for a very very average meal. So £32 just 2 main meals was rather steep. We won’t be returning.
We used to eat at the Bielder frequently and the menu/food was always good. The menu has changed quite a bit though and doesn't offer half as much choice. Not a patch on how things were a few years ago. I struggled to find anything to order. Went for the burger in the end (obligatory bacon and cheese although the bacon was pale and soft - not crispy). Whilst it was ok, it was pretty basic. In the past, the food would have been served on slates/nice plates with separate portions of tasty coleslaw, chilli jam, chunky tripled cooked chips etc. Nothing like that. Chips crammed on same plate - token portion of salad in the bun. No sauce/coleslaw. Very disappointing - why has the menu been trimmed down so dramatically? Service was good but the restaurant was very quiet. Toilets, balcony area etc really need freshening up.
Food was excellent however the menu options could have been more varied and less fussy. The service was not great. I understand it was a Saturday evening however we waited at least 25 mins after we had eaten for our plates to be taken away and this was only after we had asked for the bill. We also overheard other customers making comments about the slow service with one gentleman not served his pint, all the while the bar tender was on his phone!! Would revisit however feel the staff training needs to be improved.
Very disappointing. Less then 2 months ago we enjoyed some great, inventive food and good service. Last night we were faced with a poor typical-pub menu, awful food and poor service ( one starter never arrived but We were relieved as other squid starter poor). The manager swanned about but never once came to our table despite there being issues.
Excellent service and varied menu with good choice
Great food, reasonable price and very attentive staff.
Food and service was good! We were very early 5pm but still had a few diners in. I would definitely return later of an evening when I would assume it would be busier.
Excellent food and service. Made to feel very welcome with our 12 month old little girl too. Thank you.
Had a nice evening good food and atmosphere Service was generally good but staff needed prompted a few times for more drinks
I think changing the menu regularly is good but current offering is very eclectic, not sure the dishes work that well. Pancetta/chicken/beef Duck/salad/grapefruit Experimentation is good but hasn’t worked this time in my opinion.
Lunch was very nice and the atmosphere was also good . Had soup and a sandwich - both were very good.
The fish and chips always the best
The menu has changed and not a great choice for all day !!! Well over priced and not happy about the set lunch menu disappearing.
Unfortunately due to the change in menu I do not this I would return for lunch, normally I would just pop in past for some lunch off the old lunch menu, witch was decently priced and the food was always exceptional. When I visited on the 1st of April I was told the menu had changed and that there was NO lunch menu! I think you will loose a lot of people like myself who just poped in for lunch. To serve a a la carte menu al day is just a bit bizarre in my opion. Also I have never ever had any problem with the food I have been served in the Bieldside inn, but this time around my fish batter was incredible oily witch caused the chips underneath to go very soogy, as you can imagine is was not very enjoyable. I was quite upset because I have raved about this place to my mum for so long and I took her here for mother’s day. I personally do not think I would return for lunch if I was given this menu again
Mother’s Day meal - it was quite busy as expected but there clearly wasn’t enough staff to cope - drinks orders were forgotten about until after we had finished our food, as was a request for mustard. One pudding was missed from the order, which happens but the replacement took more than 30 minutes...not great for an expensive meal. Bieldside Inn: If you’re going to run a Mother’s Day event and charge extra for the privilege, make sure you have enough staff to avoid poor reviews and irk regulars like us.
Did have to wait a wee bit too long between courses but staff were lovely
