Excellent meal and very attentive staff.
We don't get to go out for dinner very often so it was lovely to be wowed by the gorgeous setting and friendly service. Delicious food and locally sourced wine. Quite pricey, but worth spending a bit more just to have some alone time with my husband in a beautiful dining room with friendly people serving us!
My family and I enjoyed a very good ‘host a roast’ at The Beacon on Sunday 17th February. We booked the billiard room which was a great size for the 15 of us. The two young boys very much appreciated the space to play. Our host Justin was absolutely fantastic, he seemed to now exactly what we wanted and when. The roast itself was great with plenty of accompaniments and extra when we needed. Nice crumble for dessert. The whole idea of being able to sit down and enjoy a proper family roast in a lovely setting is brilliant. Credit to the whole team for making us feel very welcome. Thanks. We will return.
I treated my Husband to lunch at the Beacon. As frequent visitors to the Swan we have been meaning to try for ages and were not disappointed. The food was excellent. Service good. A very slight staff training issue was that my Husbands hot starter was put on the table while he was in the loo and left to go cold. Beautiful setting.
Particularly commend the vegetarian options, but entire menu refreshingly different, delicious and intriguing. Nice buzzy atmosphere but also noisy with fidgety large groups - I would attempt to book a quieter table next time. Attentive serving staff
Lovely evening. Food was glorious, place nice and busy and the serving staff were spot on.
This is probably the 7 or 8th time we've eaten lunch at The Beacon. It was 2.30pm Sunday and still very busy. The maitre'd and serving staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and servcice was very slow. I didn't get the impression it was down to the kitchen, but rather down to the number of covers per member of waiting staff, so they kept forgetting. Our starters were excellent, and my partner's roast was very good. But my blade of beef and accompanying oxcheek cottage pie was very poorly seasoned. The bread - normally a highlight - lacked any flavour. So, pretty disappointing.. partucularly given the prices (2 courses and a couple of drinks for 2 came ot £85). Finally, we had to deal with that pernicious habit of the 'discretionary' service charge being added. So I'm left deciding whether to remove it and so make have a confrontation with the very person who had served me so inadequately to dserve the 12.5%. Awful.
Always a joy - a gem of a restaurant- beautiful place, wonderful staff, sumptuous fare.
Loved ii, was here the week before on Saturday 9th in the Billiard room, enjoyed it so much came back yesterday. All absolutely excellent. I have left a couple of messages for Jenny to call me as I’m trying to arrange an event in June. Please can she call. 07831546414. All best Sarah
Just delicious food in lovely surroundings.
Another lovely meal at the Beacon. Food and service excellent. Catered well for a gluten allergy.
Second visit. Loved it. Our three year old came with us this time and the staff were so lovely to her. Makes all the difference! She ate loads. I had curried cauliflower, hake and walnut whip with Horlicks ice cream. Husband had lamb breast, roasted celeriac and same pud. We both agreed that the ingredients were treated with a lot of love. Fab.
We cannot fault anything. Simply perfect. Highly recommend the hake - an absolutely stunning dish. Sheer perfection. Thank you everyone at The Beaoon for your amazing hospitality.
Outstanding food, great service and a beautiful dining room and location 👍
We were in the private room (The Card Room) with a small lounge area. It worked perfectly for our small gathering and we were able to talk comfortably to each other across the table. The waiter service was quick and efficient. The food was of an excellent standard. A good evening was enjoyed by all. Thank you The Beacon!!!
WOW, what a great experience! From start to finish an amazing experience, fabulous food, amazing service from Justin and all in a magnificent private dining room. A must and we will be back (often)! THANK YOU!
The Beacon is a beautiful dining experience - gorgeous surroundings inside and out, amazing service and the food is delicious.
Another fantastic meal, excellent service and AMAZING food. Private room ideal for children with stunning views and beautiful decor. Everyone loved it. Thank you The Beacon.
We had a lovely evening with fabulous food, which was made even better by the excellent friendly service offered. Our table was great also next to the open fire, perfect for a wet Wintery evening! The warm bread serviced in its quirky style was a nice touch and also delicious.
Always love going to the Beacon for the food, the atmosphere and the service (although it was not the best on Saturday!). For us, this is the best restaurant in Tunbridge Wells! Thank you.
Excellent service and food, will definitely be back!
A superb family host a roast Sunday. Felt like home from home and everyone loved it. Lots of attention to detail with bites with our drinks and treats for the dogs! Service from all staff and especially Lottie that looked after us was attentive and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Even my 9 year old niece said it was the best roast she had ever had in her whole life! Thank you to everyone at The Beacon. We will be repeating this experience regularly!
