About The Bay Horse Tavern
The Bay Horse Tavern - a modern take on the traditional British pub -Think The Rovers Return meets Soho House!
The Northern Quarter institution - dating from the Georgian era when the original venue was built - offers a selection of pies and locally-sourced rotisserie meats, including rib of beef, roast chicken and suckling pig, served with beef dripping chips or mash with fresh bread baked daily in-house. A selection of small plates are also available to buy - all plays on traditional pub classics as well as a wide range of bar snacks. Epic rotisserie roast dinners are available every Sunday.
Behind the bar is a range of cask and keg beers from Greater Manchester breweries along with a comprehensive spirits selection including more than 30 gins. Wines are all available by the glass from a thoughtful list that includes English Pinot Noir and sparkling wine from Chapeldown, While a simple selection of seven cocktails covers classics such as Irish coffee and bloody marys.
I’m pleased to say after last weeks disappointing experience the customer service is back to being excellent. Great visit.
It was a little noisy as we were seated on the ground floor near the bar. The waiter was really good and the food was definitely above average. It was a Monday so we got 50% off food and we also had a deal on the wine so it was excellent value for money.
We’ve been going here every week for almost two years and have always rated the place highly in relation all aspects of the experience. However, on this occasion, the service just wasn’t up to the usual standard. For example, the barman was more interested in juggling than serving us.
Absolutely fabulous food - unpretentious but original menu especially the starters. Food is packed full of flavour and fine ingredients. Really good service by everyone and really reasonable prices. Great choice of beer, wine etc - we do and will return and we would recommend.
Very nice food and excellent service
Overall very enjoyable; food was excellent, drinks were regularly refreshed, service was friendly and efficient.
As always, great service, great food and great wine.
Lovely place, friendly staff, great food & really enjoyed the quiz! Love that I can bring my dog with me too! Will definitely be back!
We had a great time. We stayed longer because we could bring the dogs which meant we weren’t worried about getting home
Friendly welcoming staff. Beer (Brightside) on good form. Slight issue with the fish, but this was replaced without any hesitation and further checks that everything was OK - which it was. Pleasant atmosphere - will return!
The Bay Horse was a brilliant venue for our private gathering. Thanks so much to Rosy and the whole staff.
This place does fantastic food generally, but the pies and chips are amazing. Great service as always.
Excellent pub - eaten here before and always a great atmosphere, very good pub grub and not too expensive. Lovely reasonably priced bottle of Malbec to go with the meal. Great re-union with some old pals - we'll be back!! Tony
We came for the pub quiz - we enjoyed ourselves due to our company and the pub itself seemed nice, friendly staff. The quiz however, was pretty boring and too serious. There needed to be a better mix of questions, but the host took such a long break between every question and didn't really give it much personality. If you want a fun quiz that doesn't take 2-3 hours for four rounds (plus picture round) - it's not the place for you! It was too slow and unnecessarily dragged out.
Smashing Saturday afternoon spent here with some girlfriends. Great food (especially the beef dripping chips), service and atmosphere. Couldn’t fault it. Will definitely return.
As always, a great experience and some good food.
Although we could not fault the actual service (our waiter was fantastic), they had no record of our reservation the we arrived and we were put in the noisiest part of the pub (even though we were eating) Then we asked to be moved and were moved upstairs which was much better. The food was lovely and the staff were very attentive.
We reserved a table online but on arrival there was no table reserved for us. One was found, we only had a short wait. The waitresses were lovely. The roast potatoes were hard and tasted more like boiled potatoes than roasties, which was disappointing.
A bit disappointed at first as we didn’t get out favourite table. However, we got it eventually. As usual the staff were great and the food was delicious.
Service was ok, a lot of big bookings at the same time so service was slow. Was told if we had to wait for a drink our time would be extended but it wasnt.
Group of 9 for bottomless brunch, we were all treated very well and were impressed with the quality and service. THANK YOU
As always, a very enjoyable was had. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. The food and wine were great.
I felt there was not enough vegetables with sunday roast
Great food, great service, will definitely go back again.
