About The Baths
The Clontarf Baths and Assembly Rooms, as it was known, opened circa 1886 and featured a large, tidal, seawater swimming pool that juts out from the promenade wall into the bay. It closed in 1996, 110 years after it opened. The Baths is now owned by a Dublin family who have lovingly refurbished the baths and built this unique restaurant out front.
We aim to be an inviting, lively and vibrant meeting point of Clontarf.
Join us for a family-style, high quality, but a bit daring, food, beer and cocktails. The Baths is a historic location with scenic atmosphere. We are witty, playful and bold way with a touch of classic Dublin. At The Baths, you should feel just as comfortable here for casual & relaxed dinner as you are in suits & sequins.
Amazing venue. Incredible staff.So friendly
Very slow service, food arrived before the drinks!
It would be great to eat food outside.
Another great experience in The Baths - could not recommend this place enough!
Bar was overwhelmed and unable to provide prompt service. Glass cleaning area was clearly unable to keep up with demand and very cluttered. Steak was overcooked. Our waiter was very efficent and friendly, but was under pressure due to poor performance from the bar and kitchen. On a more psoitive note, our comments were taken on board and the management did not charge for the steak and some drinks, when our bill was presented.
Food excellent. Staff friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Bar service is extremely slow and very disorganized. We booked table for 6:30 and arrived at 5 to have drinks outside beforehand. Each time we waited 15 minutes for a drink at the bar. Several people behind the bar but only one making cocktails and serving for the whole establishment. What a pity as we had a lovely time otherwise.
Food very good however full Irish was too much for me! 2 sausages is more than enough, 3 is too much.
We had a 50th wedding anniversary for our parents Saturday 13th July at the Baths..I would not hesitate in recommending this fabulous venue..Most importantly was the level of service..I had been before and had been disappointed..if you are one of those and have not returned..please do ..it's under new management and wow the difference .The service was amazing we were looked after so well ..the team always smiling and ready to help with anything..As somebody who works in PR and Event Management I knew I would be a hard customer but they surpassed in every way..Cannot wait to go back as a diner and organise another party..Thank you Clontarf Baths ..you were and are amazing..
Myself and my husband do not live in Dublin but have family members living in Clontarf and usually have lunch or dinner in The Baths when we visit. We have never had anything but good food and service. Anytime I visited I always post a five star review. Posted one today giving you great praise. If I lived in Clontarf I would be visiting at least once a week.
Great experience - will be back and definitely recommend to friends.
Really lovely evening in a unique setting.
Not a great choice on the menu but will call again

The Fish dishes weren’t great but the chicken wings, ribs & burgers were good
