About The Baths
The Clontarf Baths and Assembly Rooms, as it was known, opened circa 1886 and featured a large, tidal, seawater swimming pool that juts out from the promenade wall into the bay. It closed in 1996, 110 years after it opened. The Baths is now owned by a Dublin family who have lovingly refurbished the baths and built this unique restaurant out front.
We aim to be an inviting, lively and vibrant meeting point of Clontarf.
Join us for a family-style, high quality, but a bit daring, food, beer and cocktails. The Baths is a historic location with scenic atmosphere. We are witty, playful and bold way with a touch of classic Dublin. At The Baths, you should feel just as comfortable here for casual & relaxed dinner as you are in suits & sequins.
Great staff, kid friendly, nice food and a lovely atmosphere.
A very pleasant experience.
Had a great day 2 for our wedding at the baths. We were looked after so well by all staff , they couldn't have done enough for us and so lovely to deal with . Thank you , we will definitely book for another occasion !!
Did not like the set menu for Val day did not want it. Asked for normal menu was not allowed it. Should have been an option for one course as we didn’t want two! Val menu was not stated online as only being available when made the booking. Waited for one of our drink orders a long time so Guinness was not fresh and had to be sent back. Also brought out wrong chips sent them back and still Got charged noticed later. Found kitchen very inflexible won’t be back despite lovely decor of restaurant.
I love the Baths, 5th time, my boyfriend's first time and he really enjoyed it. I love the goats cheese salad with the pomegranate and peas, delicious. His cod was very good. The apple crumble was too with the granola and the unusual sauce. Restaurant is also stunning. My favourite restaurant in Clontarf (and there are so many:)) looking forward to Summer and enjoying Summer evenings overlooking the bay. Una
Terrific Team...smart service...sadly we just missed The Brunch Service...not many other options other than going all in...settled for a cup of coffee and a cheese board...it was fine! Magic spot to be swallowed by Storm Denis! Will be back for Brunch...I promise! Johnny
Great location and very friendly staff
Wonderful food Great atmosphere Lovely staff
Ordered a bottle of wine which was corked, all 3 of us got big chunks in our mouths, and once we brought it to the servers argentinian we all got one glass each og a different wine. This was not communicated and once brought to the attention of the manager, there was no apology and we did not recieve a new wine bottle. We had to pay for the bottle in full. Poor service.
We had a fantastic experience, food was delicious, staff were very helpful. We will be coming back again.
Booked a private event and it couldn't have gone better. Great food and service.
Food was lovely and staff also lovely and setting amazing, I would definitely recommend it
We had a table for three facing a wall. Slow service and slow to clean tables. Not very relaxing for Sunday lunch.
Lovely food gorgeous location more salad options would be nice
Beautiful bright setting with lovely views of the ships rolling in across the bay. Our (taller than the average Croat) waiter attended to our needs and to the to the entertainment of our two young children impeccably. The food was delicious and children’s menu comprehensive. A perfect example of excellent service complementing excellent food at The Baths. Thank you. Ailbhe
Nice interior design, cozy atmosphere. Food is delicious, fresh. Great for night out with family or friends.
The venue and food were lovely. Our waiter however made what was supposed to be a family lunch very tense. He was very cranky. He gave out to one of my family for not being clear about her order. It turns out he had recorded it incorrectly. He hit my grandson's ice cream ( pulling the menu away) without apology. He sighed and made us feel we were a great inconvenience. For a €250 lunch it's not an experience we will be back for. The pigeon house and Bay will get our business.
I loved the food and the atmosphere. I am looking forward to going back when the evenings are brighter.
the food was great atmosphere great staff great BIG NO NO the kids menu, my son got nothing to eat on the night as he doesn't eat chicken wings or fish, i think it's a very poor kids menu, and with that in mind I wouldn't be able to go back if kids were with me.
A very positive first visit. We will be back for sure. The ice cream is divine!
Table wasn't ready on time when we arrived and were left sitting at the bar and forgotten. This happened before. Table was then beside bathroom so we moved . Food was good and we are regulars and service had improved before this.
Nice atmosphere with good food and service.
What a beautiful location! Staff could not do enough & food was fab. I am vegan and my main and dessert were super.
Fabulous setting, food presented like a picture but unfortunately didn’t taste aswell as it looked. Service was extremely slow, had starter before we got our drinks.
