About The Baths
The Clontarf Baths and Assembly Rooms, as it was known, opened circa 1886 and featured a large, tidal, seawater swimming pool that juts out from the promenade wall into the bay. It closed in 1996, 110 years after it opened. The Baths is now owned by a Dublin family who have lovingly refurbished the baths and built this unique restaurant out front.
We aim to be an inviting, lively and vibrant meeting point of Clontarf.
Join us for a family-style, high quality, but a bit daring, food, beer and cocktails. The Baths is a historic location with scenic atmosphere. We are witty, playful and bold way with a touch of classic Dublin. At The Baths, you should feel just as comfortable here for casual & relaxed dinner as you are in suits & sequins.
Fantastic experience! Will be back soon. Happy Christmas 🎄
A disappointing experience. Whilst The Baths look lovely (decor) theres too much focus on aesthetic over quality when it comes to dining. The ‘fish & chips’ look great but come on a long platter dish that spins when you try to eat so you’ll have to hold your plate with one hand throughout dinner. Some desserts are also served on these. The plastic chair seating is uncomfortable and the restaurant is quite cold on a rainy day due to the height of the roof i imagine, but blue hands mean you’re never relaxed. I have to say the staff were fabulous, particularly the head waiter. Best to dine here on a sunny day and don’t focus on the food, aim for cocktails instead.
So much as improved in relation to the quality of food provided. A bit of a rocky start but we have really been impressed with the standard and quality of the various menus we have sampled in recent times. Well done on that. Disappointing smithwicks draft has been withdrawn.
We had another beautiful meal in The Baths last night. The food, the service and value! And then there’s the setting. Really impressive in every way
The decor in The Baths is eclectic and complementary to the restaurants roots. I had the early bird menu, wonderful food, great value. The service was good. Also interesting wine list. Anne
I thought my first visit sitting at the kitchen was warmer and more comfortable. The area down by the bar, on my second visit, has too many hard surfaces and needs sound proofing. The food is good but not special enough for the price. Some of the servers are extremely helpful and friendly. Others were slightly abrupt. Love the toilets. A better venue for summer than winter. Needs more warmth in a colder season. Still had a lovely evening with the company I was with!
Had a fabulous Sunday brunch there recently. Great menu, fast and friendly service and beautiful view. Thank you!
Disappointing menu for lunch .the dinner menu looked A little better .maybe a soup for lunch on the menu would be good. Ordered a coffee which took about 15 mins to arrive . Gorgeous place and will go back but disappointed with the menu
Really enjoyed my visit here yesterday. Food was nice, service was good, the decor is AMAZING and so is the view. I'll be back
Very nice meal. Attentive staff. Maybe too much so? Until asked how I enjoyed the meal and pointed out that the hair I found did not taste as good as the fish.
I was hoping there will be more seafood on the menu for lunch/brunch. Great you have vegetarian option. Great customer service and staff are very friendly
Staff were very accommodating. Food was so nice that we had to have desert. Would have stayed all day eating as the atmosphere was so relaxed.
Had one of the tastiest full Irish breakfasts I've ever had!
Our waiting staff was amazing. So friendly, on the ball but not over bearing. She alone would make me book again.
Nice place with very friendly staff.
We j ad the early bird menu, it was fabulous, the meat in the pie was way too much for me but gorgeous! Overall it was lovely
It is a limited menu. My aubergine dish was over engineered - too much bits and bobs. My husbands fish and chips had the fish placed on top of the fish which makes it awkward to eat the fish!
The place was quite dirty after the Sunday brunch. The staff were very friendly and nice . Thought the Parmesan frites were too rich with the delicious Mussels normal frites would have been nicer . Lovely place
Lovely food, wonderful friendly staff! Beautiful location
Staff very friendly and efficient
Excellent service! Outstanding food and drink and the prices have come down. Could not fault the wonderful evening. We’ll be back!
We had a group booking made feel welcome and no rushing to clear the table which was nice
Had the most pleasent friendly waiter!! We originally booked for 9 but had a table of 7 which was no issue. We asked could we bring out a cake and he went above and beyond to ask management could we serve it! He made the experience amazing and never mind the interior, amazing views and the fab food we would definitely go back for the service!
Clean, efficient & fast. Good prices. Waitress polite & efficient. Overall an enjoyable experience. 🤗
