About The Baths
The Clontarf Baths and Assembly Rooms, as it was known, opened circa 1886 and featured a large, tidal, seawater swimming pool that juts out from the promenade wall into the bay. It closed in 1996, 110 years after it opened. The Baths is now owned by a Dublin family who have lovingly refurbished the baths and built this unique restaurant out front.
We aim to be an inviting, lively and vibrant meeting point of Clontarf.
Join us for a family-style, high quality, but a bit daring, food, beer and cocktails. The Baths is a historic location with scenic atmosphere. We are witty, playful and bold way with a touch of classic Dublin. At The Baths, you should feel just as comfortable here for casual & relaxed dinner as you are in suits & sequins.
Service seemed a bit chaotic . Had to ask for our drinks twice . Was going to see if they could host my daughters 21 st , but after last night we will go somewhere else . The live music wasn’t great , the singer was terrible
We have eaten in The Baths probably 6 or 7 times now since opening and I’m sorry to say it’s really just getting worse. Food is now embarrassing if you have guests who haven’t eaten there before and staff are just untrained. Nobody checking standards and as if nobody could care less. The live entertainment just finished off the night as it was far too loud for any conversation to be had. We just left without any acknowledgement from any member of staff whatsoever! We certainly won’t be back unless it’s totally reset from the top down which is a shame as there are very few restaurants as it is on the Northside of Dublin
Overall very disappointing. Such a pity as beautiful setting. Didnt see one staff member smile. Disappointing brunch menu. Food average at best. Service poor.
Really enjoyed the food and service was excellent
Had a wonderful experience in The Baths Clontarf on Saturday 22nd of March. I had a party booked for a confirmation for 17 adults and children. The set menu had plenty of choices in each course and our vegan duo and our 1 vegetarian were very happy with the choices. The service was excellent and food and drink did not disappoint. We had our own private dining area at the side of the restaurant which was really nice and made the confirmation boy feel very important. Will be back very soon. Thanks for helping create a lovely family memory. Tara
Food was great. Value for money ok. Staff were excellent and the atmosphere was great. Very relaxing.
Terrible service. Was waiting 10 mns at the door to be shown table, finally a waitress did. My friend then came and was told I was not there and she showed to a different table and was only after 20 mns she called me to find that I was there all along. Then at the end of the night we only got the bill and the waiter came up 3 times in 5 mns demanding pay, he got it but no tip!! I previously provided glowing feedback on the service so it was a completely different experience,, and not good!
Fantastic venue, excellent food, friendly staff would highly recommend.Thank you Richard and team for the perfect family meal we had to celebrate my sons confirmation.Looking forward a return visit. Tracy.
Lovely afternoon at the Baths, cosy environment and very tasty food.
Fantastic lunch, service and place. We will definitely be back.
food was great, tea pot in need of safer tops. very clean and bright but it would have been nicer if we could walk outside to see the baths. Sevice at table was pleasent. One dislike was the entrance, we were made to feel in the way, our party of six. this was due to booking information and menus not together and a staff member at the door, a woman, needed to cross paths and this was done in a very unwelcoming way. A unnessary beginning .Staff on the floor serving were very professional.
Lovely meal and venue, would recommend
The Baths have stepped up their game in relation to customer service tenfold. Our waiters were friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back.
Very friendly staff , restaurant is very clean and food is very nice , would definitely book again to go back
What a fantastic lunch! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great! Service was a tad slow, had to ask for order to be taken and no one came to see was our meal okay during etc apart from that I will absolutely be back. Also the lunch menu was very good value. Have already recommended to family I had met later on in the day.
The Baths is a great place to enjoy quality food. The decor is wonderful and we felt very welcome there. We are sure to become regulars. See you soon.
I had left a message when i rang but nobody rang me back..
Pity the table config couldn’t be better to allow more people to have a view
we had my daughter's confirmation there last Thurs eve 7th March... I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better evening the staff were very pleasant it went so smooth and I will definitely be back here again I want to thank all the staff there they couldn't have done more and the food was unreal you guys definitely made it A Day to Remember
Myself and one of my guests made a bad choice of main course on this occasion, the beef pot. The meat was very fatty.. My other guest was happy with fish burger. Deserts were lovely.
Food was fabulous. Wine list is very good. Great choices. Great atmosphere in restaurant also.
Staff were excellent, atmosphere was great, the food was good
This was my second visit to the Baths - Sunday lunch time. My feedback would be that the music was way too loud. Food was good - the service was good - but a bit slow - to take orders and clear table afterwards. I think Sunday lunchtime seems to be more for families with children.
The place looks cosy and bright. Clean and service is great. I ordered char grilled aubergine and loved it, but my boyfriend ordered Steak and asked for to be cooked Rare / bloody and got very well cooked steak. Also meat was very poor quality with all tissues and nerves inside. He left more than half of the meat as it was unsatisfying to eat. For the price of €26 for Steak we were expecting excellent quality meal.
