About The Baths
The Clontarf Baths and Assembly Rooms, as it was known, opened circa 1886 and featured a large, tidal, seawater swimming pool that juts out from the promenade wall into the bay. It closed in 1996, 110 years after it opened. The Baths is now owned by a Dublin family who have lovingly refurbished the baths and built this unique restaurant out front.
We aim to be an inviting, lively and vibrant meeting point of Clontarf.
Join us for a family-style, high quality, but a bit daring, food, beer and cocktails. The Baths is a historic location with scenic atmosphere. We are witty, playful and bold way with a touch of classic Dublin. At The Baths, you should feel just as comfortable here for casual & relaxed dinner as you are in suits & sequins.
This was my first visit. I thought the restaurant itself was very impressive - however the table we were seated at which was down the back of the restaurant before the raised piece was a bit dark - the overhead lights were not on -and it felt like we were put at a table in an unused part of the restaurant. The food was very good - but a bit pricey in my opinion for an out of the city restaurant. Service was very good and friendly.
Service was excellent and staff very friendly, the views are stunning and the place itself lovely and airy. The downside is its choice of menu not great and food okay nothing special, especially for the price.
Another beautiful meal and evening in The Baths. And what great value! Where in Dublin would you get such good food - I'd a lovely beetroot and goats cheese salad, mussels and sweet potato fries followed by the most beautiful affogato - all for 27 euro and in such a fabulous setting with the sun going down over the sea. One teeny tiny negative and that was the table being cleared before you'ret finished eating.. Other than that AMAZING. I'll be back.
I know it’s only a small issue, but the lighting was very bright, we had a lovely evening though.
Amazing time at The Baths. Staff wonderful, food delicious and everything in between was simply awesome. We really had a great afternoon. Thank you so much and the place looks superb.
> Service is below par- twice I’ve been there and the first time a server sat at an empty table across from us on his phone > Prices are quite high for the level of food given- it’s sub par
Wonderful lunch with scenic views
It was v quiet hardly any body there for lunch just because it was a horrible day not their fault at all hence the 3 star for atmosphere ❣
This is the third time we visited the Baths and it's gorgeous! The food is lovely and not too expensive. It's good value for money. My son got sick when we ate there and we had the most considerate and hospitable staff. Thank you so much for making our family dinners something to remember 😂❤️
Very enjoyable meal in a fantastic setting. Great menu and quality of food. I’ll be back!
This is the most enjoyable restaurant experience I have had since moving to Dublin in 2006. It is outstanding in location, decor, food, service. It is spacious, which is marvellous, we had a birthday party of 12 people and it felt private even though we were in the main restaurant area. It was busy but never feels crowded. Outdoor area for kids to run around. Excellent.
Early bird menu was great value. Excellent delicious food beautifully presented in a great setting. We had a little mix up with the wine, the bottle ee ordered wasn't available but was added to the bill with the wine that we ended up ordering. However this was speedily resolved by the very pleasant & friendly waitstaff.
Food was ok . My friend had full Irish which she really enjoyed. I had eggs Benedict. Spinach was awful ... a tiny (if any ) hollandaise sauce . Asked for mayo ... 10 mins later I got I sm bit in a random cup then asked for ketchup... 10 mins later a plate with a massive blob of mayo arrived! We were sitting chatting and Waiter came over took our jug of water (still have full) whiteout saying a word .. thought he was going to refill and seconds later walked passed with full jug for another table ... ! Have been 3 times and each time the service gets worse ... don’t think I’ll be returning
Thank you to all the team at The Baths. We had a meal there on Friday night to celebrate my mother in laws 70th birthday. The staff could not have been more welcoming and attentive, the food was excellent and the surroundings were just lovely. I was particularly impressed with the children’s menu. We can’t wait to return!
Excellent service and food yesterday for lunch. Thank you! I'd heard about & experienced some service issues when you first opened. But I have to say they've clearly been sorted out. My lunch experience was excellent. We were even delayed arriving at the table by an hour, and there was no issue. And our server was fabulous!
The decor and location are gorg, but the service is v.v.slow and the food was only average, and not as good as it should be for the price.
I have been to Baths a few times during the summer and it has always been a good experience but last night was very disappointing. We were a party of 6 and were seated to the left of the entrance and so we were in a constant draft. The bench made it even more uncomfortable as there is nothing to support our backs or protect it from the draft. The manager did try licking the door but people were coming and going all night. That particular spot is very unsuitable for a table. Either it should removed or proper draft excluders should be put in place as the weather channel s getting cooler.. we ended up putting our jackets on. The food was excellent and service was good but we went home feeling cold... this is not good
Over priced for very mediocre fare.
Decor and atmosphere are something else. Food was great. Will definitely visit again
Third visit to this restaurant, service very poor food average....disappointing
We had dinner here for my wife’s birthday. Everything was amazing from start to finish!
Lovely venue and the brunch is amazing
Staff are friendly, but a little disorganised.
Great brunch menu..
