About The Barn At Lichfield
80 seater restaurant, divided in 4 areas.
Food good, service terrible, very slow
Food wasn’t great, service was very slow but it’s a good environment with good atmosphere. I would come again but not to eat
Beautifully presented bar / restaurant. Friendly / helpful staff Food excellent Would highly recommend many visits to this pub / restaurant.
Great service, too much food! Really enjoyed it.
The music was far too loud considering it was so busy, my party couldn’t hear each other talk. It was really cold sat by the door so had to put my coat on throughout dinner. My dinner was cold and two people ordered tiger bread with a garlic dip. They were served soft bread with oil and olives (which they don’t eat). I don’t think there’s any excuses for that when you’ve asked people to pre order. My mum wasn’t offered a glass of Prosecco so I had to ask for one. I understand Mother’s Day is a busy time, however I was really disappointed with all aspect of the meal.
We had a lovely time. The food and service was great.
Unfortunately we will not be dining at the barn again. The reason being the experience we encountered was; on the positive- both the staff and setting was both fabulous, however the food was just about warm and the meat chewy. Starters and deserts were poor with the exception of the soup. Deserts particularly appeared as if they had been microwaved and chewy. Overall very poor when as a group we spent the best part of £300. To reiterate the staff and settings were not at fault, it was the food that totally let us down.
I brought my mother for mother’s day. We were greeted and seated very quickly and politely. Out cocktails were lovely. However took very long to come as did the the rest of our drinks. My moms dinner was the chicken. It’ was full of blood on one half and she didn’t eat it. We told the waitress who said sorry and would tell the chef and ‘wouldn’t eat it either’. However I had to ask her for the bill after ten minutes of waiting and the chicken was still on the bill. I explained about the fact the chicken was inedible and she said she forgot and took the garlic bread we had off the bill.
Some staff were rude and no interesting. Food was poor and some items forgotten. When pointed out head staff couldn’t careless
Third time we’ve been in recent weeks after a couple of years. The food is excellent. The service last night from Megan was also excellent. She was friendly, very knowledgeable and accommodating. Many thanks.
Lovely food and very polite and friendly staff
Starters not value for money. An hour until our food order was taken.
Superb food, warm, friendly staff 😋
We love the barn especially the Sunday roast but were left really disappointed on our last visit. We had a table booked for 2.30 and all arrived promptly but were not seated until 45 minutes after that with staff constantly telling us they were just getting the table ready. We were conscious that our 10 week old son only sleeps comfortably in his car seat for so long so this was really annoying. The food as ever was good apart from the main course- roast beef - which we have enjoyed in the past. It was more like 2 thin frying steaks on each plate, fatty and not tasty. Further, there was one small bowl of vegetables between 4 of us. In the past this has been a much more generous serving. The service also left something to be desired with one waitress bringing dishes over and saying "I don't know what this is . " Hopefully this negative experience is a one off as the barn is a lovely place
Overall it was nice and we enjoyed our meals. I do feel the restaurant is overcrowded with tables and chairs. Felt like a squeeze to get through and a bit condensed in our seating area.
Lovely place, our server was very friendly and helpful.
Booked for lunch on a Saturday and the 2 waitresses were very attentive, welcoming and helpful. I couldn't pick a dish I wanted from the main menu and asked if I could have a dish from the Prix Fixe menu (pie & chips) & she asked the chef and it was fine to do so! Much appreciated :)
I must say the food was excellent although there was 6 of us and 5 mains were delivered and i had to wait another 10 mins for my steak. The extra veg i ordered were delivered with the 5 mains so they were luke warm at best and the chips that came with the steak its seems had been waiting for the steak to cook. Also the live music was incredibly loud. Luckily we was quite a way away from it. Something to take into account if you need to talk to each other.
No complaints at all, keep the excellent standards going
Great Sunday lunch. Really friendly and helpful service.
We had a lovely meal but we felt incredibly rushed. We were in and out in less than an hour and had two courses. The food was lovely but it did spoil our evening.
Beautiful pub. Food excellent. Service attentive, friendly couldn’t do enough for you. Highly recommend.
Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience at The Barn. We hadn't realised when we booked that there would be music playing. It was so loud that we struggled to have a conversation! I could understand the volume being increased later in the evening but we were dining at 7pm. On top of that the waitress advised us that a dish on the menu was mild so we ordered it. When it arrived it definitely wasn't and they then apologised but didn't offer to change the meal to something else or discount the bill. We left after an hour to go to another pub. The atmosphere obviously works for some people but if you want to be able to talk with your group then don't go here!!
Lovely food. Service much quicker since becoming The Barn. Lovely surroundings for a special occasion.
