About The Bank House
Nestled in the village of Hixon in rural Staffordshire, The Bank House Inn has recently been refurbished but hasn’t lost the charm of a cosy village pub, with low oak ceilings and log burning stoves. We serve great cask ale and a fantastic range of gins, wine by the glass and wonderful coffee roasted here in the village of Hixon. We serve traditional pub classics, steaks and wood fired pizza.
Beautiful Pub, lovely decor, very friendly. Excellent quiz master, tough quiz but really enjoyed the challenge. Really fabulous customers too, very welcoming. Sadly, the food! Pizza & chips only on quiz night, that’s fine, but oh dear it couldn’t have been any worse. We will try again in the hopes that the chef was just having an “off “ night. Wish I could have been kinder, if only the food was of the same quality as the rest of the evening then this would have been the perfect pub.
Thank you to the staff at The Bankhouse for being so attentive and speedy with our food. We all enjoyed the afternoon and will certainly be visiting again in the near future. Food was delicious and service exceptional.
Veg over cooked roast potatoes hard staff not very professional
Had a lovely Christmas meal, thank you all for a great service and gorgeous food. Very impressed 😀 hope to be back again soon.
Very pleasant evening.
Lovely pub, good atmosphere, friendly. Nice food, expensive overall.
Overall Our family Sunday lunch was a good experience. The greeting was friendly and we were given menus to review straight away. The positives are great quality food with the majority of staff being welcoming and willing to go the extra mile. Areas to concentrate on from my experience would be warming up the building as the 3 ladies in our party were cold the entire time and a rather rude young waitress who was brusk and struggled with customer the customer ethos. Please consider putting cheese on the menu! All in a positive experience and we will return.
Not for the first time I had trouble booking a table using Res Diary. Not sure why but it just wouldn't let me book the table in spite of trying several times.
Excellent food, poor service. Staff need to be more polite, attentive and efficient. Waited 30 minutes for drinks to arrive at the table and “d’you want drinks” isn’t a particularly professional way to be addressed. Front of house staff really let the establishment down. Could be so much better and they are letting the chef down.
My first visit and I was pleasantly surprised.
The only negative is that I was cold and had to keep my coat on- other than that the food, drink and service was excellent
The food was unfortunately lacking the LP quality expected.
excellent service as ever
We came with a voucher which is always a good incentive. Lovely experience.
Food was good. Service slow at times, although it was very busy.
Car park could do with more lighting. Access to the dining area was limited and blocked by seated drinkers. Had to remind serving staff about a glass of wine that had been ordered but not delivered to the table. Fries were undercooked (hard in the middle). Bakewell desert was served cold. Custard was a small serving, lukewarm and there thin
Fantastic food in wonderful surroundings with well trained staff. Only comment would be for a larger portion of vegetables - two pieces of a roast vegetable only just qualifies as plural for “vegetables “ and two teaspoons of greens is not a portion. Otherwise an excellent experience and we would definitely go again but ask for more vegetables.
I first came on Oct 24th and was OK but everything was much improved last night.Service was much better as was the food. Would definitely come again and have recommended you already.
Self and husb. had the Wednesday night grill menu. Was excellent value, including a large glass of wine each. Food was good honest fare. Refurbishment nice, still a pub but a good refresh. Clean and tidy.
Enjoyable evening once again
Lovely meal with family, made very welcome as always
Great food, great staff and great atmosphere what more do you want?
Pizza n Prosecco night - can not fault the food, the Prosecco, the service - it was superb
Food was ok shame that the soup did not taste like tomato and the beef was a little tough. We was seen to our table and the soup was waiting for us. Would be nice to take my coat off and relax. Not a good start but will give it a second chance.
