About The Bank House
Nestled in the village of Hixon in rural Staffordshire, The Bank House Inn has recently been acquired by The Lewis Partnership and will soon be restored to its former glory.
This is a great place to eat and drink. A mix of traditional pub and contemporary restaurant. A separate veggie menu always goes down well and the wine and dine menu on a Friday means it’s worth the cost of a cab both ways since we don’t live in the village. We’re only disappointed that the restaurant will be closed for a few weeks for refurbishment.
Superb Sunday lunch will be back to try evening menu.
Not up to the standard of other LP establishments, but I am sure after the refurbishment it will improve. The musroom rarebit starter was lovely but the beef strogonoff was nothing special. However, the service was very good and full compiments to our waitress. We will be back after the refurb.
Fab service and fantastic food as always. Happy friendly staff made for an enjoyable Sunday afternoon.
Excellent anniversary celebration
The Bank House is a lovely old pub with welcoming staff and well presented and well cooked food
The waitress was very nervous and quiet but the other staff on that day were better. There were a few small mistakes which could have been avoided and service was slow, with the same waitress being ill informed. The choices of vegetarian food was particularly poor. Also, there was no mention of a price for just one course, only two or three. However, the food we eventually ordered was pleasant enough.
The whole party of us thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunches, we will definitely be returning in the not too distant future! Many thanks
Super Sunday lunch, great food and service, one of our favourite places.
Gents toilet. Only a WC pan - no urinal.Lifting toilet seat in food establishment not very satisfactory especially as hand dryer totally ineffective. Had to dry hands on my handkerchief.
As usual the standard of the food was excellent. However we were surprised that most of the meals were more suited to a winter menu. Given the current heat wave we expected to see some salads or lighter meals. I know The Lewis Partnership respond really well to feedback and that they’ll respond well to this.
Lovely Sunday dinner 😊
Lovely food. Friday night wine and dine menu good value for money. Highly recommended.
Awesome service and food as always. Great to finally have an excellent quality pub in the village.
Goat curry excellent. I took the extra spice advice I was offered.
We we’re a party of 8 none of whom had Eaten at the Bank House before but agreed that we would visit again because we’d had a relaxed and enjoyable evening.
Lovely meal, good value for money. Just a shame the chips arent homemade. Yes
Great steak meal
Great food and service again - thanks
The staff are very friendly at the same time very professional
Strawberry pimms please
All in all, a fabulous service right from the initial booking to end of meal and payment. Great staff - pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely revisit the Bank House.
We visited for grill night and had a lovely meal with very good service. Very reasonable and the mixed grill was massive !
The staff were extremely welcoming and the pub atmosphere was great... the warm bread and dip was fantastic. The drinks were great and most of the food was perfect. The only let down was the quality of the 10oz rump steak... it was very fatty and full of gristle. I would much prefer a higher quality 8oz steak rather than a 10oz that you have to trim about 4oz of fat off. I would dine here again but would have something else not the steak.
