About The Baby Grand
The Baby Grand is a well known and respected Glasgow restaurant and piano bar, often referred to as a Glasgow institution due to its excellent reputation spanning over the past 30 years. This classic piano bar and eatery is often compared with the renowned Bradley’s Jazz Bar – New York – due to its similar friendly ambience, delicious food and dedication to keeping classic jazz alive.
This well hidden Glasgow gem sits across from Charing Cross railway station and is ideally located for The Kings Theatre (less than 5-minute walk away). There is a reasonably priced carpark located behind the train station and the newly opened Scottish Hydro can be walked to in under 20 minutes.
Full marks all round, Baby Grand...food was fab, nothing was a bother to Bianca and staff, and everything with a smile. The atmosphere , as always, a delight, and love Danny Thomson on the piano....my 3 friends and I had a fantastic time....special pace ❤️
Lovely meal with 5pm deal. Just wish we had known the price of only taking one course as two course was better value. Very friendly staff and so handy for train and theatre.. Great pianist created a relaxing atmosphere in this beautifully renovated restaurant.
Loved the pianist. Perfect selection of music. Added greatly to the experience.
The Piri Piri chicken livers are one of the nicest starters I have ever had. But don’t tell everybody.
Great meal before a visit to the Kings Theatre. Recommend a visit.
Never disappointed at BG!!
A bit disappointing this time around. Cheese soufflé was small and rather flat and over cooked. The chicken burger with halloumi was over done Hopefully just an off night as this is one of my favourite places to eat.
This was our first group outing to a restaurant and the experience was excellent. The waiting staff could not have been more helpful and the food was delicious. As group organiser I received nothing but praise for my choice of venue! I'd like to make the Baby Grand a regular meeting place throughout the year, but next Christmas definitely.
We had eaten here some 8yrs ago so made a point of coming back. Everything was better than expected and it has expanded. The only slight annoyance was a loud group who were, to be fair, just enjoying a night out. Would we go back ? Well we did the next day for breakfast Fresh staff and just as friendly and helpful Thanks to Pete Irvine's book for recommending all those years ago - who needs tinterweb
Very good service and great menu. Many thanks
10 of us visited for lunch on Saturday everyone of us had a great time ... food was delicious and staff couldn’t have been more attentive.. thank you to each and every one of you from chef to front of house we had fab day 👏👏🎄🎄
Lovely meal, enjoyed by all, drinks a bit pricey hence why we didn’t stay on but service was good, thank you for a lovely afternoon
We booked for a pretheatre meal & drinks before the panto. We ordered from the festive menu which was lovely, great value too. Not enough time for a pudding so I’ll be back.
Baby Grand has always been a favourite of mine
The staff are very welcoming and there is a warm ambience in the place with the piano softly playing. The food was delicious however I would like to see more vegetarian/vegan choice. Cake of the day was incredible!
From the moment we entered Baby Grand it was a delightful experience. A friendly and attentive staff made us feel very welcome, and we enjoyed first class food with plenty of choice. Try this little gem looking over to the Mitchell Library, and you’ll be back - often! Well done all at the Baby Grand!
Lunch menu was very limited and no specials . Two of us had fish pie which was bland and dry. There was no wine list available. Always liked the bar pre theatre but don't think I would eat there again.
4 people pre theatre, arrived wee bit early no problem. Lovely friendly well informed staff. Food was hot fresh tasty. First time here but will be back. Thanks to all.
Great place Fab food Lovely staff efficient and friendly Recommend it to everyone
Great service. Nice piano music. Pleasant vibe. Food was grand. Good coffee. But - don't put chips in a tin and white wine needs to be cooler.
Food was poor
Friendly welcome and attentive service. Lovely atmosphere with resident pianist, Bill.Great cakes!
Enjoyable meal, very nice Maltsmiths beer although drinks a little pricey especially mixers. Staff very good, could do with proper chips with fish instead of skinny fries
Quick, friendly service and lovely piano playing.
Every visit is a pleasure and I have confidence in their commitment to satisfaction
