About The Baby Grand
The Baby Grand is a well known and respected Glasgow restaurant and piano bar, often referred to as a Glasgow institution due to its excellent reputation spanning over the past 30 years. This classic piano bar and eatery is often compared with the renowned Bradley’s Jazz Bar – New York – due to its similar friendly ambience, delicious food and dedication to keeping classic jazz alive.
This well hidden Glasgow gem sits across from Charing Cross railway station and is ideally located for The Kings Theatre (less than 5-minute walk away). There is a reasonably priced carpark located behind the train station and the newly opened Scottish Hydro can be walked to in under 20 minutes.
Great food, relaxed environment
The reasl for 4 out o 5 for armosphere was simply becaddī
Great restaurant and the refurbishment has been amazing and the menu is just terrific...
Food was delicious. Wine excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Lucky enough to be in when a customer was playing the piano. Will return soon.
Excellent before refurbishment, even better now, the ambience is lovely, food superb one of the better eateries in Glasgow
Thank you. Great food and service. Will be back.
Would not return for food.
Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices but the steak we ordered medium rare was well done and fries were lukewarm. No time to send back when eating before a theatre visit. When waitress brought first two desserts she was talking to another member of staff with our other two desserts in her hand for at least five minutes which was really quite irritating. This was not her fault as it was a senior member of staff that was engaging her in conversation! When the second two desserts did arrive, one of them was incorrect. Okay overall but could have been significantly better.
Great for a pre-theatre if going to the Kings! Hidden gem...
Really enjoy the bar and the live piano I think it would also be nice to hear a bit of Cabernet like Colin Scougall at Milano’s in Cumbernauld
Fish was a bit small
Fantastic service and the refurb with window has made restaurant so much lighter. Will be back soon!
The recent refurbishment makes the Baby Grand much more spacious, bright and airy and greatly enhances the dining experience.
Unfortunately on 8th may, Baby Grand was closed for improvements. Be back soon. Xx
Great food and service.
Fantastic bistro and very warm welcome from staff - 1st class
Good value pre theatre menu with excellent friendly service
This is a great little restaurant. Staff are very friendly. Food is great
We had a good night, had a few drinks then dinner, food was very nice and good value for money, my only complaint was that we were booked at 17:30 and I thought we could get the specials on the board but that was not to be it was only the pre theatre that was available... But as I say it was still good but would of liked the specials... I suppose with a kitchen that size you have to limit the choice etc.... I will get the monk fish the next time
Staff very friendly and accomodating
6 of us dined in Baby Grand before a night out in town on Saturday evening. Staff very friendly and served us well. We ate from a set menu but we were also offered a list of todays specials. Food gets top marks for taste especially the Cullen skink. The menu also reasonably priced. There is a great range of cocktails and belinis to chose from as well as wine and spirits. The atmosphere was friendly and lively with piano being played as we ate. Will definitely return.
