About The Baby Grand
The Baby Grand is a well known and respected Glasgow restaurant and piano bar, often referred to as a Glasgow institution due to its excellent reputation spanning over the past 30 years. This classic piano bar and eatery is often compared with the renowned Bradley’s Jazz Bar – New York – due to its similar friendly ambience, delicious food and dedication to keeping classic jazz alive.
This well hidden Glasgow gem sits across from Charing Cross railway station and is ideally located for The Kings Theatre (less than 5-minute walk away). There is a reasonably priced carpark located behind the train station and the newly opened Scottish Hydro can be walked to in under 20 minutes.
Unfortunately on 8th may, Baby Grand was closed for improvements. Be back soon. Xx
Great food and service.
Fantastic bistro and very warm welcome from staff - 1st class
Good value pre theatre menu with excellent friendly service
This is a great little restaurant. Staff are very friendly. Food is great
We had a good night, had a few drinks then dinner, food was very nice and good value for money, my only complaint was that we were booked at 17:30 and I thought we could get the specials on the board but that was not to be it was only the pre theatre that was available... But as I say it was still good but would of liked the specials... I suppose with a kitchen that size you have to limit the choice etc.... I will get the monk fish the next time
Staff very friendly and accomodating
6 of us dined in Baby Grand before a night out in town on Saturday evening. Staff very friendly and served us well. We ate from a set menu but we were also offered a list of todays specials. Food gets top marks for taste especially the Cullen skink. The menu also reasonably priced. There is a great range of cocktails and belinis to chose from as well as wine and spirits. The atmosphere was friendly and lively with piano being played as we ate. Will definitely return.
Great food excellent service we had a lovely evening
Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Lovely piano playing, delicious food, excellent service
Nice That they opende during the code red
Good dood , Nice and friendly
A lovely evening of fresh, delicious food accomadated by amazing jazz piano.
Food and service was excellent as usual. We were positioned directly under the radiant bar heater and found it to be painful. It was however switched off by the staff when requested, thank you. We understand that some form of heating is required during colder times as the area along the front of the bar can be very cold. Some other form of heating this area is required. It was also very noisy which is to be expected in a bar this size when full. So much so that we could not hear the piano music although only two tables away. Pity as we enjoy the style of music being played
The only comment I have is that I was disappointed in asking for potatoes instead of chips with my steak only to be told they only had enough potatoes to go with the chicken ?? Also service charge ridiculous
My friends & I had a really good start to our evening. I only gave 3 stars for food & drink because I am gluten free & there was no option of a sauce to accompany the roast chicken. I did inform the restaurant when booking.
Full five stars, great service good food & good price. We will definitely be back.
Staff extremely helpful
