About The Artichoke
The Artichoke is a beautiful pub situated in the village of Croxley Green. Once you have visited The Artichoke you will see many of the beautiful original features, which have aged so well in time, sitting alongside the tasteful, more recent decor which still allows the pub to retain a country atmosphere from bygone days. The chefs focus on using quality produce and delicacies to create the most stunning food based on British classics.
Food was really good and service was great and very welcoming. Will definitely come again.
Good service, delicious food - loved the Hoisin Duck wrap! Great size and flavour. Had all chips/fries and all delicious; especially the sweet potato fries! You need to create a gluten free menu - even if it’s just colouring in the gluten free friendly options on your menu - as it’s not right that the customer should have to look through the book to work out what they can/can’t eat. Also, gluten free bread should be advertised on lunch menu. Overall lovely food and experience. Tim and colleague (blond lad cropped hair) were very attentive! Will be back soon!
The service was friendly. The food was fairly average, neither good nor bad.
Very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and an overall great place
This was a 60th meal for my sister in law, she loved it. The food, drinks & atmosphere was lovely, as was the service from the staff. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Will come again
Slow service, too much noise from young children. Food was good but expensive for what it was. Unlikely to return.
A lovely lunch in an inviting setting. The service was efficient and friendly.
Lovely evening with friends as always. Great food, friendly hardworking staff. Preferred when had proper waitress service outside..... bar area too busy with people from outside ordering food!
Last minute Sunday lunch, after seeing our daughter off on a school trip. Roast beef was delicious, highly recommend. My husband had the burger which was equally nice! A pleasant meal in pleasant surroundings. Service efficient.
After a couple of, less than perfect, experiences in pub/restaurant's over the past couple of months it was a pleasure to come to the Artichoke where the food, staff and overall experience was perfect. Thank you.
Hi Ray, thank you for your kind words regarding your recent visit, we look forward to seeing you again soon
The ‘Wednesday’ wine offer of £10 off a bottle of ‘selected’ wines is very misleading. Given the limited extent of the wines it may be assumed they’re all ‘selected’. You need to make it much clearer which wines are included in the offer. I felt cheated when told the bottle I had chosen was not a ‘selected bottle.
Hi Tony, thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit. We strive to be better tomorrow than we were today, and we will look to make the offers clearer on future prints of the menu. We look forward to seeing you again
HI Ella, thank you for your kind words. We look forward to seeing you again soon
Enjoyable evening with good food and excellent service.
Hi Sylvia, thank you for your kind words. We look forward to seeing you again soon
We had to stand at bar for 10 minutes until we were acknowledged..only one couple at bar n 2 serving n after 10 mins told them we had booked table n then had to wait "as she was busy"...but doing nothing. I wont come back again as the service n professional attitude is what you woukd expect and this was not evident last night.
Hi Annie, thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit. We apologise if you felt it was anything less than perfect, we are always looking for ways to improve and hope you'll see these improvements on your next visit
Very enjoyable lunch, lovely staff. Back in a fortnight.
Hi Jerri, thank you for the kind words. We'll see you soon
Went for Sunday lunch disappointing I’m afraid. The roast potatoes were so rubbery that we couldn’t cut through the skin. Had the Italian Bean Hash; a plate full of beans and tomatoes really needed something on the side which it didn’t come with. Service was great as usual. Although they failed to return our credit card to us when we paid so I had to go back this afternoon to collect. It’s not as good as it used to be which is such a shame.
Hi Yogita, thank you for the feedback regarding your recent visit. Our roasties are usually a big hit on a Sunday, its disappointing that you didnt feel they were up to standard. We hope to see you again soon, and we can show you the level you and we expect of ourselves
Great customer service
Good service, tasty food and did not feel rushed
Lovely pub in a gorgeous area. We went for an early breakfast one Sunday so it was very quiet (and peaceful)!
Excellent service- great atmosphere and good food as usual- a great day had by all.
I would like it better if one of the numerous phone calls I made to book a table was answered. The pub itself, it’s environment, decor, design is very nice , food not bad but every time we visit, there is a problem with staff - lack of, inexperienced with little supervision, overworked and frustrated etc. No complaint about the service though as they are trying their hardest with a smile.
We had a lovely afternoon celebrating my husband’s birthday. Staff were attentive, food was good, surroundings clean and tidy.
Excellent food, nicest Sunday roast I have eaten out for a long time. All cooked perfectly and decent portion size. Will definitely be back!
Nice venue but got a table with the sun streaming in so wasn’t comfortable on Father’s Day Sunday roast was acceptable. Drinks a bit pricy. Busy day and service could have been better.
